One Night Stand With Alexander Blackwood-Chapter 77 — Seventy-seven
Rhea froze as her eyes came in contact with the papers strewn all over the floor.
Alexander folded his arms as he watched her. "Judging from your expressions, it’s clear you know what these are." He scoffed.
"I.. I have no... idea what you’re talking about." Rhea stammered, trying to deny.
Alexander laughed, not out of amusement or humor. But his laughter was devoid of any form of excitement or mirth.
Hearing him laugh, Rhea swallowed. She knew how Alexander was. He was fiercely protective of his people. There was a time he cared about her, but now...
She clenched her fists tightly, taking a deep breath.
"Care to explain yourself? Or do you think I’m dumb?" He demanded.
Rhea closed her eyes then opened it after taking a deep breath. She met his eyes directly, a trace of defiance flashing through her dark eyes.
"I should be asking you this question. You came to my house, obstructed my path while I was driving out, and you hurl baseless accusations at me." She paused, taking one step towards him. "Tell me, Alexander. Have you lost your morals just because of Serena? Does she matter that much to you?"
"Answer me!"
Alexander rolled his eyes. "I have no reason to give you an answer to your questions."
"Then I should do the same. Why should I be the one to answer and explain myself when you can’t do the same?" Rhea snorted.
Alexander sneered. "You have every right to answer my questions. Or I could take you to jail. Press charges charged against you on the basis of murder. Once I do all of these, I’ll make sure to publicize them."
His voice dropped lower, his eyes glinting with a hint of maliciousness in them. His expression was totally different from what he usually showed Serena.
Rhea took a step back in fear.
"Your reputation, your fans... everything which you worked hard for will go up in flames. Your fans will blame you when they find out the goddess they idolize is nothing but a bitter and jealous old lady."
"You wouldn’t dare." She pointed her trembling fingers at him. Although she said this, she partially believed that Alexander would do just as he said. He was ruthless, cruel and every bit of the devil he was rumored to be. She knew this much with the time they spent together.
"Oh.." he laughed softly, but his laughter was like the devil crawling from the pit of hell. Goosebumps rose on Rhea’s skin as she looked at his blank expression.
"How would your fans feel when they find out you always take out other actresses you considered ’threats?’ Talented actresses, tell me, can you imagine their disappointment? Their pain? And finally, their fury?"
As Alexander spoke, Rhea trembled.
"What... what do you know?" She stuttered. She thought she hid her crimes carefully. But it only took a day... just a day for Alexander to uncover them.
"You do not want to know the depth of what I know. If you knew what I knew, I’m pretty sure you’d be on your knees now." There was no trace of pity on Alexander’s face as he stared at the lady who he was once in love with. He couldn’t believe that he was blind to her antics..
"Alexander, don’t do this. It will ruin me." She pleaded, squeezing out a few tears hoping it would move him. Unfortunately, Rhea had overestimated her effect on me.
Alexander chuckled darkly. "A few years wouldn’t move me. Didn’t you think about how Serena would feel when you decided to kill the last person who she cared about?" He demanded, raising his voice this time.
"I wasn’t the one who killed her!" Rhea fired back, her shoulders shaking.
"But you ordered the hit. The man wouldn’t have stabbed Mama if you didn’t give the go-ahead. He is your subordinate and he has been helping you take care of your other enemies."
"No! No!" Rhea covered her ears, shaking her head. "Don’t say anymore. I don’t want to hear."
"No matter how much you close your ears, the truth is laid bare in front of you. You killed Mama just so you could hurt Serena. How low can you stoop?"
"So what if I ordered the hit? She deserved it!" Rhea finally screamed, breathing heavily. She looked Alexander straight into his eyes as she said slowly. "Who asked her to be close to you? You know, you have nobody else to blame but yourself."
Alexander narrowed his eyes as he watched a maniacal look flash through her face.
"Why do you have to love her? Why does she get to be happy with you? Why?" She shouted. 𝕗𝗿𝕖𝐞𝐰𝗲𝕓𝐧𝕠𝕧𝗲𝐥.𝚌𝐨𝚖
Then, she took slow steps towards him. Her voice dropped as she tried to trace her fingers on his chest. But before she could do so, he caught her hand and pushed her away.
Instead of getting offended, Rhea only laughed. "Feisty. You are just as I met you."
"Stop beating around the bush. You were the one who ended the relationship. Stop bringing the past up. Move on, just like I did." He dug his nails into his palms so much that they drew blood, but he didn’t mind. Instead, his expression was blank as he stared at Rhea.
"Why should I move on? I can’t move on from you, Alexander." She shook her head consistently. "You can’t be with anyone else apart from me. Any woman who tries to get close to you would face the consequences."
"Amelia is just one case. She tried to get married to you. I had to use her, but unfortunately, you caught on quickly. You are sharp."
Alexander listened to her speak, and his blood boiled.
"I suggest you stay away from Serena. Break up with her, or you might not know how—"
Before she completed her statement, she felt a strong grip wrapped around her neck. Alexander had wrapped his hand around her throat, his eyes dark as his breathing turned heavy.
"Don’t you dare mention Serena’s name. Don’t you even try to touch a strand of her hair. If you do, I promise I’ll be the one to send your corpse to your parents."
Rhea, on the other hand, wasn’t fazed by the threat. Instead, she burst out laughing. Alexander’s grip tightened until her face turned pale.
"Don’t go near her. I’ll end you. It isn’t just a threat, it’s a warning." He let go of her, and she fell to her knees, coughing.
"You know, you look hot when you are mad. How about I continue making you mad? I always want to see your sexy expression." Rhea teased, seemingly forgetting that she had just been choked by Alexander.
He turned his back, and said without turning to look at her. "Stay away from her. That’s a warning." Alexander walked away, leaving behind a laughing Rhea.
"We will see about that." She chuckled under her breath, her eyes flashing with a dangerous look.
