Chapter 1439: Threat Index

During his investigation on Pyreling World, Sein ran into Grimm, who was also monitoring and collecting data on the enslaved creatures’ habitat.

Perhaps due to the missions assigned by the Magus Alliance, Sein’s pursuit of truth and research had gradually shifted toward mechanics over the years.

Grimm, on the other hand, had gone beyond his signature Power of Obliteration and made notable progress in the field of biology.

Currently, he was experimenting with feeding the Pyrelings specific mixtures of metals and potions, hoping to create new variants with enhanced abilities.

“I have studied the Gallant Federation’s combat tactics against our frontline legions,” Grimm said. “Ordinary creatures don’t stand a chance against their concentrated firepower. Only those with specialized structures capable of reflecting and dispersing energy beams can hold out a little longer,” Grimm said.

“My Divine Tower of Obliteration has too few registered mages. If I want to strengthen my forces quickly, I’ll have to rely on the enslaved creature legions.”

Sein nodded.

Having stood on the frontlines of the Clash of Civilizations himself, his grasp of the federal fleet’s firepower was far deeper than Grimm’s, who had remained in the rear all this while.

Though Grimm studied the federation’s forces mainly through elemental projections and war reports, his analysis was still thorough and right on point.

It was no wonder he had ascended to Rank Four around the same time as Sein and had earned recognition from the Winter Guardian of Magus World.

After reflecting on Grimm’s words, Sein pulled out a piece of silver scale from his robe.

“That’s...” Grimm studied the item in Sein’s hand, curiosity flickering in his eyes.

“This comes from a Molten Steel T-Rex, a Rank Five allied creature I encountered on the frontlines. It evolves by devouring metal. During the war against the federal fleets, it developed steel-like skin by chewing through their warships,” Sein explained.

He handed the scale to Grimm. “And it can indeed reflect and disperse concentrated fire from the federal fleets.”

Grimm examined the silver scale with growing fascination as he listened to Sein’s explanation.

This palm-sized fragment might hold precisely the kind of profound evolutionary secrets he desperately needed at this stage.

Just as he was about to offer to buy this Rank Five material, Sein raised a hand to cut him off.

“If you manage to develop a method to catalyze that kind of special evolution in the Pyrelings, just share the knowledge with me. If it proves effective, I might even pay you for it,” he said with a smile.

This time, Grimm only nodded slowly instead of refusing.

They were close enough not to be overly calculative with each other.

“So, you’ve already been to the frontlines. I heard Marcus, the veteran knight who conquered Pyreling World with us, has already been deployed to a designated star domain.”

“What’s the situation at the front? How strong are the Gallant Federation’s combat legions?” Grimm asked curiously.

“I have some footage I can share with you, along with wreckage samples of their warships and mobile suits for your research,” Sein replied.

“As for the Gallant Federation, I can only say they are not as weak as we made them out to be before the Magus Alliance Conference. Their combat legions are actually quite formidable.”

His tone was grim.

After inspecting his enslaved creature legions on Pyreling World, Sein finally set out for the plane where the Nexon intelligent robots resided.

Just as he was about to depart, the Magus Civilization launched another major offensive on the frontlines.

Along the border of the Sanoras Star Domain, a Magus World Army numbering in the hundreds of millions had gathered.

Led by a violet-golden dragon, they launched a fierce assault on the Gallant Federation’s vanguard forces in the Netherworld Star Domain.

The Magus Alliance also revealed seven or eight other overlord-level forces in the Sanoras Star Domain!

Aside from the native overlords of the Burning Sanoras Civilization and the Titan legions under Odin’s command, which remained inactive for now, every other legion launched a full-scale offensive, seemingly intent on reclaiming the nearly overrun Netherworld Star Domain in a single decisive strike!

Faced with the Magus Civilization’s relentless assault, the Gallant Federation naturally had its own countermeasures ready.

“Has Regalis, the Mother of Dragons, ranked seventh on the Magus Civilization Threat Index, been deployed?” 𝐟𝚛𝕖𝚎𝕨𝗲𝐛𝚗𝐨𝐯𝐞𝕝.𝐜𝗼𝗺

At one of the Gallant Federation’s three major command centers in the Netherworld Star Domain, Karnoch frowned slightly as he read the latest frontline report.

He was a renowned marshal in the federation, long hailed as the commander of the “Invincible Fleet”.

The Magus Civilization Threat Index was a special list generated by the federation’s supercomputer, ranking the Magus Civilization’s entities based on past combat records, inherent strength, and their importance to their home civilization.

Even so, the list was far from objective. It reflected only the Federation’s perspective and incomplete intelligence, unable to truly capture the strength or standing of the Magus World’s powerhouses.

After all, many of the most ancient and powerful beings in Magus World spent their years in seclusion or wandering the Astral Realm, rarely showing themselves.

For such elusive figures, the federation’s supercomputer could only make educated guesses.

Still, the list represented the federation’s own acknowledgment of the Magus Civilization’s powerhouses.

Take Lady Bev, the host of the 25th Magus Alliance Conference, for example—she was not among the strongest in the Magus Civilization; the Magus Alliance had several Rank Eight overlords.

Yet on the Gallant Federation’s Threat Index, Lady Bev was ranked second. This meant she was their second-highest priority for elimination!

She was deemed a threat not for her strength but for her role as the Magus Civilization’s commander.

If she were to fall, the blow to the Magus Civilization would be devastating—far worse than the loss of any single overlord in the alliance.

The Gallant Federation and Magus Civilization remained locked in brutal combat across multiple star domains, with staggering casualties on both sides.

And yet, not a single overlord-class force had fallen!

Overlords were not so easily defeated. For now, both civilizations seemed to still be testing each other’s limits.

There had, however, been battles where several Magus Civilization overlords and Gallant Federation overlord-class fleets suffered severe damage.

“Notify the rear for reinforcements,” Marshal Karnoch ordered.
