Rebirth: Revenge of the abandoned heirress-Chapter 35: Slapping
Chapter 35 - Slapping
"Insolent!" Theodore Harrison slammed his fist on the table.
Never before had Jazmine Harrison spoken to him in such a manner.
What had caused this sudden change?
"Just because you are now David Anderson's wife, do you think you can disrespect me?"
"I surely can't behave this way just because I'm the wife of David Anderson..." Jazmine's voice remained calm, her eyes cold.
Theodore frowned slightly.
What was she getting at?
"But..." She continued, "I sure can behave this way because I am the President of the Tang Enterprise—one of the top five companies in the city."
At this, Theodore laughed. "I know all about your failing business. With someone as foolish as you leading it, the company is bound for ruin."
He spoke with certainty.
Jazmine contemplated his words for a moment.
Then, with a calculated smile, she said, "Fine. I'll make Frank agree to meet you."
Theodore looked pleased. In his mind, his daughter had finally realized that she had no future. That her little company would soon collapse, and she would have no choice but to rely on her family.
A hint of disdain flickered in his eyes.
How pathetic.
Just like her mother—weak, timid, and easy to crush under pressure.
"Just like that. You should know you owe us! Humph!"
Theodore was even more convinced that Tang Enterprise would be destroyed under her hands.
A company that required an unyielding leader could not be run by a coward.
Jazmine glanced at him, her gaze icy.
She knew exactly what was running through his mind.
So what?
In the end, he would be disappointed.
Sometimes, she wondered how they shared the same blood.
She was more than happy to walk out of the dining room.
"Are you telling me you didn't send him in? Ridiculous! I paid him so much to make him agree to do this!"
"How could I have sent him in? David Anderson... he was with her the entire night. I didn't get a chance to—"
"David Anderson was with her the entire night?!?!"
The voices went silent the moment they saw Jazmine Harrison approaching.
Rosaline looked like she was about to explode.
Before Jazmine could react, Rosaline stomped toward her and snatched her scarf away, revealing faint marks trailing down her neck.
Her eyes widened.
"You whore!"
Jazmine didn't know whether to laugh or sigh.
"I don't understand your standards, Rosaline. A woman is called a whore for sleeping with her own husband?"
"You—You slept with him?"
"Of course." Jazmine tilted her head, her expression unreadable. "He is my husband. It's only natural."
Rosaline's face twisted in rage.
David had rejected her.
Yet, he had slept with Jazmine?
Her nails dug into her palms as she seethed with fury.
"You bitch! I'll kill you!"
Rosaline lunged at her.
Jazmine effortlessly dodged, grabbing her arm and twisting it behind her back before shoving her forward. Rosaline crashed to the floor, wincing in pain.
A commotion erupted.
Footsteps stormed into the room.
Theodore, Scarlette Whites, and Damien Harrison entered, their faces dark with anger.
Scarlette Whites rushed forward and knelt beside her daughter.
"Oh, my poor Rosaline!"
Rosaline immediately changed her expression.

Tears welled up in her eyes, her lips quivering as she sobbed pitifully.
"Mother... Mother, I—I just told Elder Sister that David left... and she got so angry that she hit me and pushed me down... Sob... mother, I'm hurt..."
Scarlette's expression darkened.
"How dare you, Jazmine?! What has my daughter ever done to make you hate her? She has always wanted the best for you, and this is how you treat her?"
Jazmine wanted to laugh.
This was her so-called family.
"How vile you are!" Theodore's voice rang through the room. "Your sister loves you sincerely and always thinks about your well-being, and this is how you repay her?"
Jazmine didn't say anything.
She just stared at him.
Cold. Emotionless.
If it were the old Jazmine, she would have been terrified.
She wouldn't have even dared to touch Rosaline in the first place.
But now?
Theodore's anger flared.
"Apologize to your sister!"
Jazmine remained seated.
"Why must I apologize?" Her voice was indifferent. "She was the one who attacked me first."
"You expect me to believe that someone as kind as my Rosaline would raise a hand against someone—even if it's someone as despicable as you?"
Jazmine felt an odd tinge of pain in her heart.
Was this really her father?
Her green eyes grew even colder.
"Apologize to her now or else—"
"Or else what, Father?"
A dead silence fell over the room.
Rosaline, Scarlette Whites, and Damien Harrison stared in shock.
Was this really Jazmine Harrison?
The girl who used to burst into tears at the mere sight of her father's anger?
The girl who used to tremble when he raised his voice?
The timid wimp?
Theodore's hands trembled with rage.
"You—"
"Or else you'll slap me?" Jazmine laughed icily. "Let's see how you'll slap the President of Tang Enterprise."
A dozen bodyguards in black suits suddenly entered the room, surrounding her.
Jazmine leaned back in her chair, a small smirk playing on her lips.
"Go on, Father. Try to touch me now."
Theodore's face turned a deep shade of red.
"JAZMINE HARRISON!" His voice thundered across the hall.
"Don't forget whose house you're standing in!"
