Demon Slayer: Rise of The First Werewolf-Chapter 51: Troublemakers
The news of the Shaggathan awakening spread across the supernatural world, those in the knowing grew uneasy.
Divination witches received a lot of work during that time.
Meanwhile, Adrian and Sam spent an entire month hunting, without Meggie, he started hunting like crazy.
Not only vampires but other savage Fayera like the Krabol or the shuna, also called the skin walkers.
Unlike the Krabol, they were much weaker physically but their ability to turn into others made them harder to deal with.
Their ability was so perfect even Adrain found it hard to distinguish them from normal people but he had figured out a trick.
Mirrors, this wasn’t included in the records about them and after reading the memories of one of them he knew why.
It wasn’t just the Shuna, most Fayera made a deal with witches and the organisation, the two groups that collect information about the Fayera.
They can record everything but not their weaknesses, at least not on books that can be accessed easily.
Even though the Shuna were not a very powerful race, they still deserved some respect and they were shown that respect, of course not by Adrain.
The two of them had just hunted a Gadra that was consuming the fears of a child, it lurked in closets and under the bed.
All those, " There’s monster under my bed." From children are true and it’s usually one of the Gadra.
They weren’t dangerous, they didn’t harm their victims but gave them bad dreams and sleep paralysis.
But that isn’t good for a child’s development so they have to be removed. During this month Adrian had come up with an idea.
What if they started something like a detective agency where they investigate and deal with unexplainable cases.
When he suggested that to Sam he just sighed witj fatigue. " You do realise there’s an organisation doing exactly that right?" He asked.
" Oh yeah, doesn’t matter, we’ll start out own little thing, we can even work with them if they want."
Sam sighed again, he’s been sighing a lot lately, dealing with Adrian was exhausting, his ideas were always stupid and dangerous.
" Have you forgotten those people want to capture you? You’re a subject of interest, the only reason they haven’t found is because Meggie hid you with a cloaking spell, you told me that."
When he mentioned Meggie the mood turned a bit sour, at first Adrain was glad she was gone like any teenager left home alone.
But the longer she was gone the more he felt the lack of her presence, he didn’t even notice before.
But in the short time they spent together he had grown to depend on her, perhaps it was because she reminded him of his mother.
Seeing his mood turning south, Sam decided that shup up. " I’m going out." Adrian stood up and left.
-----------------------
While he and Sam were having fun hunting monsters, they had no idea the trouble they were causing others.
They had left a trail of bodies behind causing much trouble for the organisation, at first things were manageable.
However the more bodies left behind the slower the organisation responded, eventually they couldn’t respond fast enough.
A group of college kids found four bodies of humanoid hyenas, this terrified them and they naturally spread the news.
They took photos and videos and posted them online.
" Damnit damnit, damn that stupid brat, is he trying to kill me? My heart can’t handle this, I need everybody to work on finding him."
The director cursed so loud his saliva painted the walls, his face was red with anger.
He knew this was caused by Adrian because he was the only one who took out the hearts of his victims.
" I need you to remove those videos and photos off the internet." He barked orders but Nancy disagreed.
" Too many people have seen them already, if we remove them, conspiracy theories will be born and that will just create more issues.
I have a better idea." She raised her glasses with a finger and lowered her short skirt.
" Out with it." The director was already in a bad mood, her delaying was just frustrating him even more.
" Get a group of people to say it’s fake, a few others to show that it’s real, start an internet debate over it."
The director raised his eyebrow, " Wouldn’t that be a bad thing?"
" If the people believe it but director, people won’t believe it, stupid as they might be they tend to lean towards what is more plausible and logical.
If you didn’t know out world existed what would you believe, that teenagers found four dead monsters in the city of Lagos or that the photos were edited?"
The director nodded understanding her point but there was still a flaw, " And what do we do if forensics take interest and investigate the photos and videos.
Wouldn’t they discover they’re not edited?" He asked and Nancy smiled flirtatious but he didn’t mind.
He had no interest in a child more than 50 years younger than he was, Nancy clicked her tongue.
" Then we post edited photos, get that nerd to do it and they will find the same result. If photos edited in front of their eyes produce the same result as these ones, the natural conclusion will be that, they’re all edited."
" That could work but they’ll still be conspiring around this."
She giggled, " Of course, director, they’ll always be a conspiracy theory around everything, it’s human nature.
What matters if that the majority of the public does not know."
The director nodded, " Fine, we’ll do as you say but I need you to take a team and go find that boy before he causes more issues."
" No." The answer caught the director off guard.
" No? Did I hear that right?" He asked with a raised eyebrow.
" Yes you heard me, I’m not going." She folded her arms around her chest.
" That’s an order agent, I’m your superior and I’m ordering you to go find a suspect before he causes more chaos."
" Am in saying no, I don’t care what you say I’m not sending myself to my death."
" You’re that scared of him?" The director asked with confusion wondering how terrifying this boy could be.
" Oh I’m terrified of him, I would rather quit the force than face him again, unless you bring a hundred more agents as strong as Bruce and a level 2 Espara ."
" Don’t you think that’s excessive for a brat no more than 2 months old?" The director asked thinking she was exaggerating.
" Excessive? No, no I don’t think it’s excessive at all."
