Rebirth: Revenge of the abandoned heirress-Chapter 34: Outrighr refusal
Chapter 34 - Outrighr refusal
When Jazmine Harrison woke up in the morning, she was in a daze.
What happened last night?
Why was she so dizzy?
She sat up properly, rubbing her temples, trying to recall everything. Fragments of memory surfaced—flashes of what had happened.
She had been drugged.

And David Anderson... he was here.
Her heart clenched, and she quickly inspected herself.
"That jerk wouldn't have fallen so low as to force me while I was unconscious."
Even though David had hated her in her past life, he had never once done anything dishonorable.
Even against an enemy, there were lines one simply did not cross.
If he had wanted to, he could have had her stripped of everything with a single order. He could have destroyed her. But even at his worst, he had never stooped to such levels.
A knock at the door snapped her from her thoughts.
"Eldest Miss, here are the cups you asked for."
Jazmine smiled sincerely. "Thank you, Elder Zhou. I'm sorry if I dragged you into trouble. In the future, I'll remember to repay your kindness."
"There is no need, Eldest Miss," the old butler said, his voice thick with emotion. "Your mother was always good to me." His hands trembled as he set the tray down. "After her death, I couldn't protect you from those vicious people. I... I can't dare to accept your gratitude."
Jazmine's expression softened.
"Elder Zhou, don't be so hard on yourself. You were powerless back then. Don't worry—things will change. And I will make sure those who made my mother suffer will pay back tenfold."
Elder Zhou looked at her with admiration. The determination in her vibrant green eyes made his heart ache.
"House Mistress, your daughter has grown up."
After a bath and dressing herself simply, Jazmine made her way to the breakfast table.
As usual, no one acknowledged her presence.
No one asked how she had been.
No one even acknowledged that she had married.
She had become a ghost in her own home, and for once, she was grateful.
But then—
"Yan'er told me that you wore a dress by designer Frank before it was even released to the public? Do you have an acquaintance with him?"
Jazmine slowly set down her teacup.
Her father, Theodore Harrison, was speaking to her for the first time in years. And it wasn't to ask about her well-being.
It was for his own benefit.
"Yes," she said simply, not interested in entertaining this conversation.
"Good." Theodore's tone was businesslike. "I want you to convince him to sign a contract with our company. Tell him we are willing to agree to all his conditions. We'll pay whatever price he asks."
Jazmine scoffed inwardly.
The first time her father acknowledged her, it was to use her.
Not to ask how her husband had treated her.
Not to ask if she was doing well.
No, she could pretend that didn't affect her.
But the truth was, he was still her father. And deep down, it did hurt.
Who wouldn't want to have a normal relationship with their father?
Jazmine was no exception.
But when she looked at the man sitting at the head of the table, she no longer saw him as her father.
"Are you listening to me?"
"He wouldn't agree."
"Then convince him," Theodore snapped. "Use your connection with him if you have to. Do whatever it takes to make him sign. You should think about what's best for your family. We've taken care of you since you were a child, and all you have done is shame our name. You have never contributed to the family the way Rosaline has."
Jazmine's lips curled slightly.
Ah. So this was what this was about.
Rosaline.
Her perfect stepsister.
Theodore continued, his voice filled with frustration. "Frank is an amateur designer who has somehow risen to fame. Our Harrison Boutique is one of the best in the industry, yet he refuses to even meet me!"
His tone turned sharper.
"This is a chance for your redemption. If you succeed in bringing him into our company, I'll overlook your past mistakes."
Jazmine almost laughed.
If she had still been the old Jazmine, she would have fallen for those words.
But now...
She sneered in her heart.
Who needed his forgiveness?
She gracefully cut into her food, her expression unbothered.
"Whatever means I use, he will never agree."
Her dismissive tone infuriated Theodore.
"Just do what you're told!" he barked. "Or should I take your reluctance as unwillingness to contribute to this family's welfare?"
His voice grew louder, trying to intimidate her.
"Are you questioning your father's command?"
That line had always worked before.
The old Jazmine had always yielded.
She still remembered—countless times—how brutally she had been hurt by this man at a single word from her stepmother.
But now?
She met his gaze with an icy smile.
"I'm not questioning my father's command."
Theodore smirked, thinking he had won.
Until her next words shattered his arrogance—
"I'm outright refusing to accept it."
