Mr. Warner, Your Wife is Running Away Again!-Chapter 250: You Can’t Just Sleep With Anyone
Barry Barrett looked up at the man in front of her, her face gradually turning red, and she nodded shyly.
Her shy appearance was completely unlike the girl who usually always appeared starstruck.
The man chuckled softly and gestured with his chin towards the shop: "Let’s go, how long have you been here?"
"...I just got here too."
The man glanced at Audrey Sutton, then asked Barry Barrett, "Is this your friend?"
Looking at the man’s polite demeanor, he didn’t seem at all like the scumbag and fraud that Flora Lane had described.
So Barry Barrett, who brought her friend to get a second opinion, suddenly felt a bit embarrassed and introduced Audrey Sutton with pursed lips, "...My roommate."
The man nodded with a slight smile and led them into the shop.
In the booth, Barry Barrett and Audrey Sutton sat closely on one side, while the man sat on the other side. He reached out to take the menu handed by the waiter, and asked gracefully, "What would you like to drink?"
As he spoke, he passed the menu in front of them.
Audrey Sutton thought the man seemed quite upright and was also quite handsome, mature and elegant without losing poise, which is Barry Barrett’s type. 𝚏𝕣𝕖𝚎𝚠𝚎𝚋𝚗𝐨𝐯𝕖𝕝.𝕔𝐨𝕞
Audrey Sutton didn’t know the man’s full name; she only heard Barry Barrett call him "Brother Hawke."
Even though they had known each other online for a little while, Barry Barrett felt a bit awkward during their first meeting, whereas the man seemed very natural, continuously steering the conversation towards topics that were easy to respond to, showing he was emotionally intelligent.
However, Audrey Sutton kept feeling that the man looked somewhat familiar, but she couldn’t recall where she had seen him.
Their conversation was always like that between ordinary friends, without touching on any personal relationship issues.
From their conversation, Audrey Sutton learned that the man was a photographer, had worked with many big stars, and had a bit of fame in the photography circle.
Young, handsome, successful in his career, and with a good temperament, Barry Barrett seemed particularly satisfied with him, acting like a shy little lady from start to finish, completely transforming into another person.
The conversation went on until after three in the afternoon when the man had a photography appointment and ended the meeting.
When they left, the man even drove them back to the school, showing that he was quite considerate.
After getting out of the car outside the dormitory and watching him drive away, Barry Barrett immediately grabbed Audrey Sutton’s hand and asked excitedly, "So, what do you think? Is he okay?"
Audrey Sutton nodded: "So far, he seems fine, but it’s better to observe for a few more days if you’re thinking of dating him."
Although Barry Barrett agreed with Audrey Sutton’s words, she deliberately teased her, saying, "You, a woman who had a flash marriage, what right do you have to tell me to observe more days?"
Audrey Sutton chuckled: "I’m good at judging people. Shane is obviously the kind of person who’s suitable for living together day-to-day, so I had to seize the opportunity first."
Barry Barrett rolled her eyes at her, then started to daydream, "The photos he takes are especially beautiful. If I really get him, my future cosplays will be sorted."
"What’s his name? I’ll search for his photography work online."
Barry Barrett replied proudly: "Nolan Hawke, he has a biography, and is the designated photographer for many major stars. Even if you have money, you might not be able to book him."
"You’re doing well in this game, bumping into such an outstanding man."
"Of course, I haven’t been playing this game for nothing."
"Dingdong—"
Hearing her phone ring, Barry Barrett immediately took it out of her bag, happily reading the message on it, unable to hide her smile, and said to Audrey Sutton, "He asked me out for dinner tonight."
"Eating is fine, but don’t sleep around."
Barry Barrett gave Audrey Sutton another eye roll: "Sutton, why are you learning all these messy things from Flora now, and do I look like someone who’s that casual?"
Audrey Sutton smiled and said: "You didn’t use to, but now you do, looking like you’re dizzy from love."
"Do you think I’m you, being fooled into being silly all day by your Third Young Master Warner?"
...
Back in the dorm, Audrey Sutton lay on her bed waiting for Shane Warner to get off work and come pick her up.
Having nothing to do, she pulled out her phone and searched for "Nolan Hawke." His biography was quite impressive, having won numerous international photography awards and worked with countless stars.
Then she looked at his photography works, which were indeed beautiful, creative, and thoughtful.
While scrolling, Audrey Sutton suddenly came across a somewhat familiar face in the album. The girl in the picture wore a white ballet dress, standing on her tiptoes, the scene frozen during her elegant dance.
Audrey Sutton clicked on the large image and confirmed that the person in the photo was indeed Clarissa Morgan.
She realized she had developed an inertia thinking towards Clarissa Morgan, where anyone associated with Clarissa would get a slight negative bias in her mind.
Audrey Sutton discovered that Nolan Hawke had collaborated with Clarissa Morgan quite a bit, with several sets of different period photos of her in his portfolio.
But Nolan Hawke had worked with many starlets, and Clarissa was no exception, most likely just a pure professional relationship.
While flipping to a set of Nolan Hawke’s own photos, Audrey Sutton fixed her gaze on a profile angle, suddenly realizing why Nolan Hawke seemed familiar.
On Clarissa’s birthday, when Audrey Sutton was in the restroom, she saw a man in a plaid suit near the washbasin outside—it should have been Nolan Hawke.
Given his multiple collaborations with Clarissa Morgan, it was totally possible that she would invite him to her birthday party too.
Audrey Sutton’s mind immediately filled with endless conspiracy theories, even suspecting if Clarissa sent Nolan Hawke on purpose.
However, considering that Barry Barrett and Nolan Hawke met by chance through a game, there shouldn’t be any such conspiracy.
It’s most likely just a coincidence.
Because if it were Clarissa’s trick, Clarissa would definitely target Audrey Sutton directly, rather than go in circles involving Barry Barrett.
Seeing Barry Barrett lying in bed, chatting on her phone with feet swaying back and forth, her inner joy was evident.
Having always been eager to fall in love, Barry Barrett seemed to have gotten what she wanted now, right?
The feeling of being the third wheel today made Audrey Sutton think that Barry Barrett and Nolan Hawke were mutually interested. If Nolan Hawke’s character wasn’t an issue, then this relationship seemed likely to be steady.
...
At the end of March, the weather slowly warmed, but the temperature difference between morning and evening was considerable.
Audrey Sutton dressed beautifully in a small dress while picking shoes from the shoe cabinet at the entrance. Shane Warner, holding one of her jackets, came down from upstairs, handed it to her, and said in a tone that brooks no argument, "Put it on."
Audrey Sutton glanced at it and frowned slightly, saying, "The weather forecast said it’s going to be sunny today, a big sunny day!"
Shane Warner gestured with his chin towards outside, "There’s no sun yet, and don’t you have evening classes? You can take the jacket off if it gets hot by noon."
