Chapter 329: Young Romance.

Stephen was unable to keep up with the couple’s pace anymore when he saw the door to the ward his daughter could possibly be in, Stephen halted.

He entirely stopped walking.

The next second, his eyes stung. He clenched his fist, pain, anger, and sadness flowing through him. He doesn’t even know how he would face his daughter.

From the news, he saw all Alfred had done to his daughter and it left him feeling all guilty and worthless. He would have searched harder, if he had, his daughter would have escaped Alfred and Laura’s madness.

His stomach crunched tight and tears welled up in his eyes. He tried to imagine how people could be so cruel to their fellow humans. He searched his mind trying to figure out what he had done to Alfred and Laura to deserve the amount of hate they grew for him and his wife. They even passed it down to his daughter.

Arissa stopped walking when she felt Stephen movement at a halt. She understood the man’s pain and turned to him.

She has also been feeling uneasy since Nicklaus explained things to her. Walking down here has been torturous because she doesn’t know how her sister would respond to the news. Also, she never wished to take Adele unaware of all of this.

She took her hand off Nicklaus’s hold and walked towards Stephen. She gave him an encouraging look, her eyes all determined.

"You did your best to reunite with her and I can bet my life that Adele would understand," she started from where she believed made him hesitant.

Stephen looked at Arissa. He looked dejected but one could see the hope he held on to, "I would have put in more effort to find her," he argued.

Arissa felt guilty when those words left Stephen’s lips. She honestly does not know how to console him. Her parents caused him this damage.

"You did put in all effort, Mr. Knewman. I might not have grown up with a man that could be called a father but I know a good father the moment I place my eyes on one and without doubt, I can brag that you’re one. You are a good man, a good husband, and a good father. You made sure not to slack in any of your duties and I appreciate you for that. If I hadn’t met you, I wouldn’t have believed that good fathers still exist and if I hadn’t met my mother-in-law, I wouldn’t have believed that good mothers still exist." she laughed softly and took both of Stephen’s hands in hers. She squeezed it softly and continued, "You are the best dad I have ever seen and I want you to believe me, Father." she called him father and gave him a playful wink.

Stephen’s heart bubbles at Arissa’s personality and free spirit. She was such a sunshine, a bright one that touched the life of everyone around even if she hadn’t noticed it yet.

She went on, "Adele also wants to know you, she isn’t mad at you. My parents just did a good job of hiding her and that’s all. I’m grateful I found you and if after all of this, you decide to leave the country with your family, I want you to always remember that you found your daughter with an additional one and that additional one is me. I_"

Stephen cut Arissa off by pulling her into a hug, "You are one in a million and I’m honestly surprised people like you exist," he hugged her more tight like she was his long-lost daughter and continued, "Thank you so much for accepting and helping my daughter. Thank you for helping my wife and thank you for calling me father..." he trailed off, chuckled softly and let fresh tears flow from his eyes.

He held both sides of Arissa’s shoulders, stared into her eyes, and said, "I thought I would die without hearing that title from anyone. You brought a smile to my face and I want yours to forever be etched on your face."

Arissa rolled her eyes playfully and thinned her lips, trying to hide her smile, "And now, you just heard it from a stranger but I want you to hear it from your biological daughter."

Nicklaus sneaked up behind his wife and wrapped a hand around her waist, "We should go in Mr. Knewman. Even if she would get mad, it’s our place to give her a little space. Right now, all we have to do is tell her everything and see how her mind works,"

Arissa placed a hand on Nicklaus’s hand that mindlessly caressed her womb area as he spoke. She tiled her head and gazed up at him and from his expression, it was clear he was unaware of the affectionate rub.

She blushed and a smile graced her lips. Her hand placed on his, she interviewed their fingers together. Nicklaus looked down at her when she did that and leaned in for a kiss.

Arissa’s face reddened and she looked away. When she looked away, Nicklaus planted a kiss on her slender neck and she blushed more.

"Young romance," Stephen thought as he admired the couple’s affectionate display.

"Don’t play with me like that," Nicklaus warned playfully and dropped another kiss on her neck. His arms now wrapped around her from behind.

Arissa faced him, "How should I play with you then?" she giggled.

Nicklaus stared into her eyes for a second. He leaned in slowly, his eyes boring deep into her brown ones. Arissa wasn’t able to look away, her lips parted on their own accord and slowly, Nicklaus captured her lips and kissed her sweetly.

Stephen took a step away from the couple and in admiration, he took out his phone and took a picturesque shot as they kissed.

The couple were pulled out of their love world when they heard the soft click from Stephen’s phone. Arissa’s throat dried up and her face reddened without recognition, making her beautifully cute.

Stephen smiled at the perfect picture he stole and said, "I’ll keep this to show your kids. You both are a perfect example of soulmates and I love it that fate brought you both together,"

Arissa gulped and Nicklaus pulled her into himself more with a smile on his face as he stared at her sweetly. He loves Stephen’s words a lot and about the kids, they would talk about that tonight.

Stephen darted his gaze from his cell phone to the couple. He smiled with determination and said, "Let’s go and see my daughter,"
