As the two recruiters walked away, the others snapped back to life as Zach asked.

"What do they mean by...that?"

Staring ahead at Liam and the principal, who is just standing still and looking at the locations where the intruders used to be, Lily responded.

"They didn’t want to destroy the vault and let out the beast inside of the vault."

"...?"

Even more confused than before, Zach put down his heavy battle axe and asked.

"Then, why did they even break into the vault? What other reason is there to come here besides break the seal?"

Proving his point, Zach pointed all around the room, which was just filled with magical artifacts.

Although the artifacts were considered magical artifacts due to possessing mana, none of them actually had abilities.

There were just regular, everyday items infused with mana.

The hammer was just a regular hammer.

Although Lily knew very well why the intruders had come to the vault, she sighed before lying.

"How are the intruders supposed to know that Zeng? They probably thought the vault was filled with treasures that they could steal and sell."

"...?"

Seeing Zeng still wearing a bewildered expression, Lily sighed again before continuing.

"What now?"

Pausing for a moment as if hesitating whether or not to respond, Zach answered.

"Then...why didn’t they just leave after seeing inside of the vault? I mean, they were here for at least thirty minutes, right?"

Exasperated by Zach’s barrage of questions, Lily just ignored him and walked towards the principal and Liam.

Behind her, Ruby took a look at her smartwatch before sighing and immediately concealing it.

But...one other person moved.

The person, who had been forgotten during the entire battle due to her lack of affiliation to the main cast group or the two recruiters, finally moved.

Astrid, who had been doing nothing but observing the entire time, finally took her first step forward as she walked towards the gap that led outside into the underground space.

Easily scaling the wall with her movement ability, Astrid took one last glance at the vault before lowering himself and crawling through the gap.

Behind her, the principal finally turned away from Ren’s previous spot as she walked towards Lily, Alya, Ruby, Kevin, and Zach.

However, before she could even talk to the main cast, two voices sounded from farther away, outside the barricade.

"Principal, could we get a teleport home?"

Staring at the two recruiters, Kazuki and Kaneki, Seraphina nodded her head before pulling out her wand once again.

The boys had traveled a long way from their houses and spent loads of extra time to protect her academy, so she was incredibly grateful.

And thankfully, she had also regained most of her mana after her destructive spell where she had summoned the sea god, Leviathan.

Bowing down and showing her gratitude to her two former students, Seraphina smiled and pointed her wand at the two.

"Lanuae"

As those words came out of the principal’s mouth, a small dark-purple magic circle formed under the feet of the two boys.

Not showing any reactions, the boys simply waved at the main cast as their figures began to flicker on and off like a light switch.

Within seconds, the two boys were gone, leaving the principal alone with the main cast.

Seeing the two boys home safe, Seraphina clapped her hands together before turning to Liam, who was the closest to her.

"Care to explain who those guys were?"

Though she didn’t know it on her face due to the circumstances, Seraphina was bewildered when Zeng suddenly appeared.

In fact, she hadn’t even known that Raven and Zeng were in the vault in the first place, which was an oversight on her part.

To be fair to her, the main cast also ignored the boys and focused on the unknown figure on the ground.

Speaking of the unknown figure, Seraphina immediately glanced backward and let out a sigh of relief as she noticed the prison cell with the unconscious figure still intact.

Liam, with an unusually cold expression, simply stared at the divine-blue sword before dropping it.

*CLANG*

As Liam’s sword dropped to the ground, the blue hue around it suddenly disappeared, and, in the next second, the sword shattered into hundreds of different iron shards.

The perfect iron sword, forged by the academy’s top blacksmiths, simply broke from a simple drop to the floor...

Losing her composure, Seraphina simply stared at the remains of the iron sword for a second before lifting her head and looking at Liam.

Forgetting about her previous question, Seraphina sighed before saying.

"Was destroying the sword necessary?"

Making eye contact with the principal, Liam silently nodded his head before turning around.

Attributing Liam’s behavior to him being a teenager, Seraphina turned around and looked at Lily.

After taking a short glance at Liam’s solitary figure, Lily nodded her head before answering in Liam’s stead.

"Those two came shortly after us...with A- huh?"

Turning around, Lily searched for Astrid, who had arrived at around the same time as the figures, but she was nowhere to be seen.

Did she run off already?

Letting a dry cough, Alya continued while Lily glanced around the room.

"They told us they were part of the academy’s security team, and since we lacked numbers to cover the wide area of the vault, we accepted them."

"However, that doesn’t mean we simply just let them be. At every second, one of us watched them and made sure they didn’t do anything harmful."

"And they didn’t. They complied with our orders and even helped us store the artifacts out of the vault to prevent them from being damaged."

"Up until just now, they seemed to be completely on our side."

After pausing for a moment, as if debating if she should say it or not, Alya added.

"And...even now, they didn’t seem to be our enemies. They didn’t even try to destroy the artifacts and break the seal."

"...indeed."
