Transmigrated as the Villain Boss's Precious Darling-Chapter 162: Two-faced
Jim Thorne looked a little awkward. He had wanted to beat someone up just a moment ago, but he’d misunderstood the situation.
"Thanks!"
"You’re welcome. How did her arm get dislocated?" Clayton Xavier asked with concern.
"Teacher Golding did it. She was protecting her own son and punished Tang Xiaonan by making her stand outside. When Tang Xiaonan refused, she dragged her out and dislocated her arm." 𝘧𝑟𝑒𝑒𝘸𝘦𝘣𝑛𝑜𝘷𝑒𝓁.𝘤𝘰𝓂
Amanda Chapman, who had rushed over, chimed in loudly. Seeing Tang Xiaonan was okay, she felt a great sense of relief.
"Which Teacher Golding? You should just reason with children!" Verna Golding took a clean towel, wet it with warm water, and began wiping Tang Xiaonan’s face. The little girl had cried so much her eyes were swollen. ’How pitiful!’
Verna Golding had only one son, Clayton Xavier, but she longed for a daughter. Her husband, however, was unwilling, and they were already sleeping in separate beds, so it was impossible. She was therefore delighted by the sight of the fair, chubby, and clean Tang Xiaonan, and her touch was exceedingly gentle.
"It’s Phoenix Golding. When I arrived, she was dragging this poor girl across the ground. Heavens... she’s truly cruel. I never did figure out what it was all about, though."
Melanie deliberately omitted the things Tang Xiaonan had yelled at Phoenix Golding, choosing instead to emphasize Phoenix’s malicious actions. She wanted to ruin Phoenix Golding’s reputation and vent her own frustration.
Verna Golding’s brows furrowed tightly. ’That woman again. Just hearing her name is annoying.’ She felt even more sorry for Tang Xiaonan. ’It must have been Phoenix Golding’s fault. She was just taking her anger out on a child!’
"At lunch, Ulysses Spann stole my meat. I asked for it back, but he wouldn’t give it to me and even spit on it, so I fought him. My cousin and I won the fight, but Teacher Golding only punished me and my cousin, not her son. She’s not a good teacher! I don’t want to go to school anymore! Jim, let’s go home, I’m not going back to school!"
Tang Xiaonan explained what had happened in fits and starts. To put it simply, it was a bloody affair sparked by three pieces of meat.
Amanda Chapman added, "Teacher Golding is horrible! I’m not going to school anymore, either. Grandpa Tate teaches way better than she does."
Clayton Xavier frowned. Ulysses Spann was clearly the one who had been in the wrong, yet Phoenix Golding had punished Tang Xiaonan and Amanda Chapman without a second thought. It was no wonder Tang Xiaonan was so defiant. Worse, Phoenix Golding had dislocated the little girl’s arm, which showed how much force she must have used. To be so cruel to a six-year-old girl... Phoenix Golding was definitely not as kind as she appeared on the surface.
Clayton Xavier detested two-faced people most of all. In the past, whenever he visited the Spann family, Phoenix Golding had been gentle and magnanimous, showing him the utmost care. He had always respected her. But now... Clayton Xavier felt as if he had swallowed a fly; it was utterly nauseating.
"Did you tell Teacher Golding that Ulysses Spann stole your meat?" Melanie asked deliberately.
"I did. Teacher Golding said I should be kind to my classmates, but I didn’t want to give my meat to Ulysses Spann. I wanted to give it to my cousin. Why did Teacher Golding punish me?"
Tang Xiaonan looked up at Melanie, her big eyes full of innocence. ’I can see it now,’ she thought. ’This teacher is definitely at odds with Phoenix Golding. This is something I can use.’
Clayton Xavier’s frown deepened. ’Phoenix Golding is being so shameless, using her authority as a teacher to intimidate a student. She even used the pretense of "caring for classmates" to get a student to give meat to her son. How is someone like that even fit to be an educator?’
Melanie didn’t answer. She couldn’t give Phoenix Golding any ammunition to use against her. Inwardly, however, her contempt for the woman grew even stronger. ’Sooner or later, I’ll have that woman, who has no professional ethics, kicked out of the teaching profession.’
"I don’t like Ms. Spann anymore, either. She helped Ulysses Spann bully me. I’m never going to speak to her again."
Tang Xiaonan pouted, her face a picture of grievance as she spoke. ’No matter how wonderfully the book described Jacqueline Spann, that’s how disgusted I am with this female lead right now. Jacqueline Spann can’t even be basically fair. The author glorified her way too much.’
