The Young Miss Refuse To Love-Chapter 91: I’m the fake Qi Jianyi
Chapter 91: I’m the fake Qi Jianyi
"I am not Qi Jianyi."
Qi Jianyi watched as Song Chengfeng’s expression shifted, his face morphing into one of confusion. He couldn’t quite grasp the meaning of her sudden declaration.
"What?" he asked, his voice laced with bewilderment. Despite his intelligence, the words she spoke were impossible to comprehend, leaving him lost and searching for any logic.
Qi Jianyi took a deep breath, feeling the weight of the truth pressing against her chest. She repeated her words, but this time with a touch more explanation. "I am not Qi Jianyi. I mean, I am Qi Jianyi—just not in this world. I’m someone who has the same name, the same face as the woman you’re looking at right now, but I am not her. I have my own life, in a different world—my world. But one day, I woke up and suddenly found myself in this world."
She spoke quickly, the words tumbling out, not allowing him a moment to process what she was saying, each revelation falling like a heavy stone in the silence between them.
"You might think that I am crazy right now, but trust me, I’m not. I’m perfectly sane. But the longer I stay in this world, the more my sanity slips away," she said, stepping closer to him, watching as Song Chengfeng’s gaze remained filled with bewilderment.
"You asked for the truth, and you wanted to know about my problem. Well, now I’m telling you, because I trust you. But understand this: you will get hurt. I’ve warned you, yet you refused to leave."
Her words, heavy with weight, locked onto his as she uttered the most unsettling words that would shatter Song Chengfeng’s entire view of the world.
"Song Chengfeng, the truth is—I am not the real Qi Jianyi. And my problem is that the real Qi Jianyi stole my life. And now, I want it back. I want to return to my world, no matter what it takes."
Her voice was firm, her eyes unwavering. She spoke with a certainty that was almost chilling—nothing could change her mind, no matter how impossible it sounded.
"You cannot love me," she continued, her voice softening yet carrying the truth like a sharp blade, "because the woman you’re in love with... she has a life in another world, a life that I cannot give up." She finally gave him the answer he’d been searching for.
But Song Chengfeng, standing there, could only stare at her, paralyzed by the truth she had revealed. His mind raced, his heart clenched—she was telling him that the woman he loved, the woman he had fought so hard to understand, was not even from this world.
She was an echo of someone else, someone lost in another reality. He could feel the world around him begin to crumble, the foundation of everything he thought he knew shifting beneath his feet.
"Giving up now is your only way out," she said, her words cutting through the air with finality.
"I can’t harbour feelings for you, nor would I ever. I have a life—a beautiful life—in my world, Chengfeng. I don’t want to live in this strange, unfamiliar world anymore. I want to leave. And if you really want to help me, the best thing you can do... is disappear from my life, right now."
Her voice, once filled with uncertainty, now held a raw, heartbreaking determination. She had made up her mind, and no one—not even Song Chengfeng—could change it.
On the other hand, Song Chengfeng remained speechless. His eyes were fixed on her, carefully observing every word and gesture. There was only determination in her voice—no hesitation, no doubt.
At that moment, he realised Qi Jianyi was telling the truth.
She truly wasn’t the woman he thought he knew. No—she wasn’t the young miss of the Qi family. But despite that, Qi Jianyi was still the woman Song Chengfeng had come to care about so deeply.
"Tell me..." he began hesitantly, his voice almost trembling. "That day, at He Zejin’s birthday party. Was it you?"
Out of all the revelations she had shared, Song Chengfeng’s mind was fixed on one thing. He needed to know if the woman he had first noticed, first admired, and eventually fell in love with, was truly her.
He didn’t care about the original Qi Jianyi. Song Chengfeng only needed assurance that the woman standing before him was the same one he had come to love.
The thought of unknowingly "flirting" with someone else, even if unintentionally, disgusted him.
Qi Jianyi tilted her head slightly, puzzled. After all she had revealed, this was the question he was most concerned about?
"It was me," she said calmly, her voice carrying a quiet strength.
"Every moment, every conversation we had—it was you and me. The Qi Jianyi you know isn’t the young miss of the Qi family. It’s me, the fake Qi Jianyi," she added, a mocking laugh slipping from her lips.
Yes, that was the truth. In this world, she was just a fake, and anyone who knew the reality of her existence would call her that.
"What fake?" Song Chengfeng’s expression hardened, his voice growing hoarse with emotion.
"You are the Qi Jianyi I know and care for. I don’t care about that other Miss Qi. I only know you," he said firmly, his voice laced with tenderness.
His mind raced as he processed her revelation. The woman he loved came from another world, and now she wanted to leave—to return to the life she had before.
The realisation hit Song Chengfeng like a physical blow. She wanted to leave him behind.
The weight of that truth caused him to stagger back slightly, his steady posture faltering. His dark eyes never left hers, as if afraid to let her go even in the smallest of ways.
Now, he finally understood the fear he had always carried deep in his heart. That sense of urgency, the feeling that if he didn’t capture her heart soon, he would lose her forever—it was real.
Because Qi Jianyi truly was planning to leave. And the helplessness he felt in the face of her resolve made Song Chengfeng feel utterly powerless.
"I love you..." The words left his lips, raw and unfiltered, the only thing he could bring himself to say. His confession, unwavering even in the face of this new reality, hung heavy in the air.
Seeing him falter, seeing his body tremble under the weight of her truth, made Qi Jianyi’s breath hitch.
Song Chengfeng was a soldier, trained to withstand the most extreme emotional and physical pressures. Yet, here he was, crumbling before her. It was undeniable proof of how deeply he loved her.
In the short time they had known each other, Qi Jianyi had never believed anyone could love her this much—so much that his entire world seemed to stop for her.
What kind of bond had they formed, she wondered, to bring them to this point? The more she tried to pull away, the more Song Chengfeng seemed to sink into the depths of this impossible relationship.
"I know," she whispered softly. "And that’s why you have to stop..." Her voice carried a quiet plea, begging him to stop chasing a future they could never have.
She had to be selfish. She had to choose her own world, her family, over him.
Stepping closer, Qi Jianyi reached out, taking his trembling hand in hers. Her fingers gently wrapped around his as she looked up at him with a bittersweet smile.
"I can’t give up on this, Chengfeng. This is not my life, and I don’t want to live it," she said, her voice steady yet filled with regret.
She pulled him into her arms slowly, her embrace warm but tinged with finality.
Song Chengfeng stiffened at her touch but didn’t pull away. His mind was blank, his emotions in turmoil. The once unshakable General Song was now just a man whose world was falling apart.
"I’m not saying I’ll leave tomorrow, or even soon," she whispered close to his ear, her words meant only for him. "But one day, I will leave. And if I let you keep chasing after me, you’ll only hurt yourself more."
She tightened her embrace, feeling the tension in his body, as though trying to anchor herself to him for just a moment longer.
"You’re right, Chengfeng. Maybe there’s a part of me that cares about you. I didn’t think I could feel this way again, but I do." Her voice broke slightly, betraying the emotions she was trying to suppress.
"But because I care about you, I can’t let this go on. I don’t want to be the reason you get hurt. So, please..." She paused, willing herself to stay strong.
"Please stop trying. Please forget about me."
The silence that followed was deafening, as the weight of her words pressed down on both of them, threatening to break what little remained of their fragile connection.
"How can I possibly forget about you?" Song Chengfeng asked, his voice trembling with raw emotion.
His arms tightened around Qi Jianyi, pulling her closer against him as though he could shield her from the cruel reality she had shared.
For a moment, he felt as if letting go would shatter him completely. He clung to her, his hold desperate yet tender, silently pleading for her to stay.
The steady rhythm of her heartbeat against his chest was both comforting and tormenting, a reminder of the fleeting time they had together.
