the two-faced Adopted Girl Who Melted CEO's Ice-Cold Heart-Chapter 912: I Have a Wife
Ignatius Leclair’s arm was covered in bruises that Delphine had pinched onto him.
Feeling a little guilty, but also confident that she hadn’t done anything wrong, she said with justified arrogance, "I’ll take responsibility for you."
The man let out a cold laugh, "I have a wife."
Delphine’s mouthful of grievances and dissatisfaction were instantly soothed by those few words, and a slight smile appeared at the corners of her lips as she randomly responded, "Mm."
"But she doesn’t want me anymore." The man said, sitting on the sofa, his voice low and muffled, barely audible, as his handsome face turned somber again, anger flickering in his eyes.
Delphine’s heart was tightly clenched, wanting to tell him to go through with the surgery, that she still needed him, but the words stuck in her throat, and she said nothing.
"Get out." Ignatius Leclair’s expression suddenly turned gloomy again, shouting irritably, "The farther you get, the better."
Delphine hesitated, holding his shirt soaked with cold sweat, and seeing his breathing truly calm down, not feigned, she went to the back room to do laundry, then called Arthur White.
Arthur had already arrived in London and was working on arranging the hospital and surgery schedule.
"Old Four is flying to London tonight, and the few experts Major General invited will arrive in London within a week. How is Ignatius’s condition?" Arthur organized the upcoming important itinerary methodically and asked.
"Very bad, the headache is severe, he almost passed out from pain just now, and he didn’t say a word." This was the first time Delphine saw his headache attack, with his shirt soaked in cold sweat, it must hurt terribly.
Arthur paused, cursed lightly, and said, "Miss Delphine, you should quickly resolve Ignatius’s mental knot, the longer this drags on, the more unfavorable it is. You’re the only one who can do this."
"I have no assurance." Delphine furrowed her brow, her decisions had never influenced Ignatius Leclair.
Arthur was so anxious over the phone that he could almost pound his chest, solemnly saying, "Miss Delphine, truly only you can persuade Ignatius, but first, you have to clarify your thoughts with him, the last time you left with Nicholas, it really hurt him."
If he wasn’t hurt, how would Ignatius give up on treatment? Arthur sighed, not even he realized how important Miss Delphine was in Ignatius’s heart.
Delphine lowered her eyes and remained silent for a long time, then said, "Wait until all the experts arrive, arrange the plane to come over."
In the following days, Ignatius Leclair’s migraine attacked once again, this time in the middle of the night. Delphine woke up to hear muffled groans, confirming the man was clenching the blanket, veins bulging on his hand, his face buried in the bedding, indistinguishable.
Even at night, Delphine habitually turned on the light, seeing his headache flare up again, her face changed dramatically, she got out of bed, poured out two pills for him, and hurriedly gave him some water, anxiously saying, "I’ll feed you the pills."
Ignatius Leclair took the medication and directly fainted from the pain. Delphine held him, frightened, and burst into tears.
The man’s willpower was strong, he soon woke up, asked in a deep voice, "Delphine, is it you?"
Her voice was choked with sobs, before she could speak, the man gave a self-mocking smile and continued to fall into sleep again.
Delphine wiped her tears, seeing his breathing slowly stabilize, but he remained unconscious, sitting by the bed, wiping his forehead’s cold sweat, she climbed into bed, nestled against his chest and began to cry softly. 𝗳𝐫𝚎𝗲𝚠𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝘃𝚎𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝗺
As dawn broke, she got up, seeing his body gradually warming, his breathing steady, she tucked the blanket around him, left the room without a word.
