the two-faced Adopted Girl Who Melted CEO's Ice-Cold Heart-Chapter 911: Do You Want Me to Change Your Clothes, or Will You Do It Yourself?
Jing Liu saw the deep, angry look on Mr. Leclair’s face. He didn’t even bother with breakfast and swiftly drove to the town to buy bowls and dishes, continuing to replace the items that Mr. Leclair had smashed. It was so frightening; he better stay out of the line of fire.
Delphine placed the last bowl in front of him and said indifferently, "This is the last one. Go ahead and smash it. If you do, I’ll go buy a hundred more bowls."
As long as he didn’t mind his hand getting tired.
The man had been angry all morning, but seeing the last bowl, he didn’t smash it. He elegantly and silently finished his breakfast, stood up, and relying on his strong memory and sense of direction, returned to the sofa chair where he had been sitting, put on his headphones, and listened to a recording on his phone.
After clearing away breakfast, Delphine saw that his phone screen displayed a video from Benjamin’s birthday celebration. She felt a mix of emotions and asked, "Your daughter? If you miss her so much, why don’t you keep her by your side?"
The man’s stern profile slightly lifted, bathed in the morning light, saying nothing.
Seeing this, Delphine didn’t get angry. She looked at the video, where little Benjamin wore a diamond-studded tiara and a pink dress, a bit smaller than she is now, as if it was from a year ago, probably at a birthday party at the Howard Family’s place with many kids invited.
The little girl’s face was rosy, clutching a lollipop while recording the video, her eyes curving into little crescents as she smiled.
Suddenly, the man turned off the video, stood up, and fumbled into the house.
Standing aside, Delphine saw him bumping into things silently, but she didn’t speak again. She watched as he slowly walked into the house, finally breathing a sigh of relief.
She listened intently to the sounds in the main house, but there wasn’t a single noise. Feeling uneasy, she went to the door and saw the man clutching his head with his hands, pale-faced, cold sweat from the pain beading on his forehead, yet gritting his teeth and saying nothing. She rushed forward, embracing him.
"Where’s the medication?" she hurriedly asked, her voice trembling slightly.
The man pushed her away without saying a word. Delphine’s eyes swept over the medicine bottle lying on the floor. Seeing the white pills scattered around, she picked them up, handed them to him, and said, "Is it this medicine?"
The man took the medicine bottle from her hand, poured out two pills, and swallowed them without water.
After a while, the wave of pain subsided, and Ignatius Leclair’s breathing finally calmed down. His clothes were soaked with cold sweat. Only then did Delphine realize why he had gone into the house quietly. He was in pain. If she hadn’t suddenly thought to check on him, was he planning to endure the pain in silence? 𝒇𝙧𝙚𝓮𝙬𝙚𝓫𝒏𝓸𝓿𝓮𝒍.𝓬𝙤𝓶
Delphine unsteadily went to the bathroom to fetch a clean towel and took out a shirt for him, wiping the cold sweat from his forehead silently, then said coldly, "Do you want me to change your clothes, or will you do it yourself?"
"Get lost," the man snarled, snatching the shirt from her hand.
"Besides ’get lost,’ is there anything else you can say?" she sneered, her eyes swelling painfully, not out of self-pity but because of how infuriating this man was. He was in so much pain, yet refused treatment, wouldn’t have surgery, hid away in this remote place, and still acted harshly towards her.
He better pray that his eyes never recover, or she’d make sure to bully him relentlessly.
Delphine wiped her eyes with the back of her hand, suppressing all her grievances, and started unbuttoning his shirt. He didn’t have any strength left to change his clothes after being in such severe pain.
It took all her strength to restrain him and change his clothes. Only afterward did Delphine notice how terribly pale his face had become.
