the two-faced Adopted Girl Who Melted CEO's Ice-Cold Heart-Chapter 907: Get Out
Delphine’s eyes were unfocused, her gaze on the gaunt, cold man whose fingertips trembled and eyes reddened instantly. How could he have become like this in just a month?
"Old Liu, did you bring someone?" The man heard the breathing in the room and angrily asked with a cold menace.
"It’s a caregiver." With a quick wit, Jing Liu said in a low voice, "You know, I can’t cook."
"No need, if you bring someone again, you can get out too." The man waved his hand, knocking over a teacup with a crisp shattering sound, then furiously shouted, "Get out."
Jing Liu shook his head at them.
Delphine looked at the shattered porcelain pieces by her feet and almost instinctively found a broom inside the room and went over to sweep up the fragments.
The man keenly sensed a different presence beside him, his handsome, cold face turning fierce as he reached out and pushed her aside.
The man was incredibly strong, and unprepared, Delphine was pushed to the ground, causing Arthur White and Jing Liu to nearly cry out in surprise.
Delphine fell to the ground. The old house was paved with large stones, and landing on her hands and elbows, she instantly felt sharp pain as if her skin had been grazed.
She stood up without a word, swept away the ceramic shards, and limped out of the room.
"Are you alright?" Arthur White and Jing Liu came out, whispering in low tones.
Delphine shook her head, signaling them to move to the stream in front of the house, a bit further away. For someone visually impaired, their hearing and sense of smell could be sharper.
Just a moment ago, as she approached, she glanced at Ignatius Leclair. The usually refined and elegant man’s face was filled with irritable anger, his brow furrowed, seemingly enduring pain at every moment.
The man’s chin was alarmingly sharp, and his eye sockets were deeply sunken. The house was built of stone, intended for summer retreat. Even though it was July, the mountain temperature was low, and the cold inside meant it wasn’t suitable for prolonged stay, especially when he was ill.
"Arthur White, you should return to the United Kingdom today. Once the experts from the fourth and Richard Shaw arrive, get everything ready for the hospital and surgery. Arrange a private jet to pick up the person when the time comes." Delphine just contemplated briefly before making an immediate decision, instructing Arthur calmly.
"What about you when I go? What if Mr. Leclair doesn’t want to have the surgery?" Arthur asked anxiously.
Brain surgery is one of the most dangerous types of operations. The chances of failure increase if the patient lacks the will to survive.
"I’ll stay and act as a caregiver, slowly persuading him. Old Liu, just tell him I’m from France. He’s never heard my French accent, and won’t recognize me." Delphine quietly instructed Jing Liu.
"That’s best. If Mr. Leclair knew you saw him like this, he might not—" Jing Liu breathed a sigh of relief, realizing things could get worse. Nobody wants their most helpless side to be seen by their loved one, especially when a man has immense pride.
Delphine nodded, instructing Jing Liu to escort Arthur out, handing him a list as well. Jing Liu, being a rough man, had no idea how to care for someone.
Both of them now completely followed Delphine’s lead, doing whatever she asked, quickly putting plans into action.
Once they drove away, Delphine returned inside the house to check the other two rooms.
When this vacation house was built, there was a main house, with the rest being a kitchen, bathroom, and storage room. Jing Liu stayed in the storage room. Because Ignatius Leclair couldn’t see, a lot of things from the main house were stored there, leaving no extra space for anyone to stay.
