The Monster Monarch System-Chapter 133: A Demonic Medium (Part 3)

There were a lot of air cutters, razing across the battlefield with accuracy and all of them were aimed at a single target – Rem.

He had done a fine job of evading a lot of them but more and more kept coming, rippling through the air with speed coupled with their accuracy made them a dangerous weapon especially in the hands of a new Demon whose soul was technically suited for this element.

No matter how many times Rem tried to weave through these Air cutters and make his way to the Demon, more air cutters always took their place making it impossible for it to make his way to the Demon and even if he did, there was no way he would be able to overpower her with a strike powerful enough to make her cancel out the multitudes of the Air cutters she had rotating in the air.

Yet even after how disadvantaged he was in this fight, Rem didn’t falter racing around the battlefield and dragging out the battle as the minutes stretched by, even deactivating his soul energy as if preparing for something. Once he sensed a flicker in the magical energy of the Demon, his gray eyes widening as soul energy wrapped around their figures – Rem’s eyes landed on the demon and the hundreds of air cutters that were waiting in the air.

It looked as though the path to the Demon was clear but Rem knew otherwise, once he started moving, all of the air cutters that looked calm in the air would immediately become hurricanes of mass destruction.

’Even if she has a stronger soul and body, it doesn’t change the fact that her magical reserves are limited,’ Rem thought, ’It crossed the half-way mark much quicker than I had expected,’

The Demon utilized a substantial amount of magical energy to keep the hundreds of air cutters in the air simultaneously and to deplete her magic even more, at times Rem had gone out of his way to ensure that some attacked him – although they never hit him and he avoided them, the same could not be said for the Demon who was wasting magic.

The position which had been presented as the most offensive at the beginning of the battle was nothing more than a setback, unless the demon of course had unlimited magical reserves... which was an impossible endeavor.

Rem activated the Body strengthening skill, his eyes narrowing down at the Demon while his body was immediately boosted.

’I didn’t have that much of a speed boost from the Convergence,’ Rem thought, ’But Flash movement should be able to boost my speed even more, just enough to reach her,’

Rem’s feet shot forward and his body blurred before vanishing, as soon as Rem went for the kill, the true chaos that had been stirring in the air was unleashed – the air cutters came raining down, each one crashing down with a speed that was hard for the human eye to keep with.

Rem kept moving despite the attacks raining all around him, he made incredible leaps in his sprint with Flash movement which complimented his movements perfectly, while Rem could have easily used the Shadow Jump skill he had gotten from Aegi to jump out from her shadow, he had to preserve his shadow skills for later. 𝘧𝘳𝘦ℯ𝓌𝘦𝒷𝘯𝑜𝑣𝘦𝓁.𝒸𝘰𝓂

Rem soon appeared beside the Demon and her eyes widened, showing a visible look of surprise as the last of the air cutters smashed into the ground creating a partial shockwave. Rem grasped his Shortsword with purpose, his soul energy and murderous intent unraveling around the blade as he set his gaze on the Demon’s tendons.

She was two meters tall and Rem wouldn’t even consider trying to climb her body in an attempt to get to the head, she had strong wind techniques that would be sure to give him a hard time especially on her body so he went for a logical path – one that would lead him to a certain victory.

Rem took another step forward, his figure vanishing into thin air. He enhanced his speed with flash movement and arrived at the first tendon, digging his sword into it and as Rem expected he felt a little bit of resistance but he sliced through with urgency as well as power, skillfully severing the tendon and he did the same with the second one.

Rem appeared a little bit away from the Demon, his shortsword poised as blood shot out of the wounds. The Demon screamed before falling to her knees, Rem didn’t underestimate her for a minute though – if it had been a human then he would have considered them down for the count but not a demon... they were built different.

Condensing several orbs of flames around himself, Rem shot them forward with force and they collided with the wounds he had inflicted causing the demon to let out even more screams.

’A demon’s healing is something that happens at an astonishing rate,’ Rem thought, ’And I must increase the wounds, that way it would be too focused on healing to guard against a full-powered strike from me or even cast multiple spells to obstruct me,’

With that in mind, Rem immediately raised up his left palm condensing even more flames around himself, he decided against using wind bullets – if they had zero to no effect against the demon that had attacked him earlier, Rem didn’t even want to imagine what would happen with this one.

He fired the fireballs forward, this time not only did he target the severed tendons but also several weak spots of the demon’s body, aiming to fully exploit the weakness. He raised his right palm with his Shortsword in it and it emanated in a unique glow before four fissures were formed, large cracks formed on the ground traversing to the Demon and converging below it instantly.

The ground below the demon lit up as powerful earth energy gathered beneath the cracks, the full power of four fissures were about to be unleashed!
