The Monster Monarch System-Chapter 132: A Demonic Medium (Part 2)
Rem noticed something that was out of place quickly, her presence wasn’t as powerful as the presence she had unleashed the first time they had met...
He brought down his blade on her neck but before it could connect, Rem saw a large azure hand fly in his direction from the side – he quickly jumped away, the hand flew past where he had once been and left behind a trail of wind, rattling the ground and even the air.
’What is this, another forbidden technique?’ Rem thought. He would not be surprised if his opponent tried to pull something like that on him, he was already prepared for a third time but it wasn’t like that.
Yet there was nothing out of the ordinary, The demon wasn’t dealing with any forbidden forces and was on the ground, breathing heavily as the azure hand floated around her figure, highlighting her with a slight azure aura.
The air turned heavy, each time she took a deep breath – it seemed to become harder for Rem to breathe but as she exhaled, it became easier for Rem to breathe again. He noticed this phenomenon and decided to move from his position, sensing something was about to happen.
His shortsword exhibited holy flames as he moved forward with piercing speed, enhanced by the Rune. He had underestimated this demon but this energy, it surpassed what she had first released. Before he could arrive at the demon, she let out a ferocious scream – one that forced Rem to stop his movements.
The hand faded and the demon screamed yet again, clutching at her horns with ferocity, her screams only increased in ferocity from there on out and Rem glanced at the tent – Megan was following his orders perfectly but he needed to protect her, from what came next...
Walls made of holy flames soon stood protectively around the tent, radiating a certain warmth to the Healer within – they were not meant for offensiveness so their heat did not burn the tent.
Rem’s eyes widened as he took yet another step back, rocks had begun floating into the air and web-like cracks spreading across the ground below the demon – her horns had grown even more longer and menacing, and her body had grown in size, her white garments surrendered to their fate and ripped.
’She’s at least two meters tall,’ Rem thought and shielded his eyes as her entire body was on display without clothing now, ’And not only that but she’s almost four times stronger than when I first met her,’
The Demon growled while glaring at him, muttering unintelligibly.
’The soul... has been switched?’ Rem was surprised upon noticing the stark difference between the soul of the demon that had first arrived and the one of now, ’Okay, a forbidden technique hasn’t been triggered but what is this?’
Someone had the answer to his question – someone far away from their current location but still felt the current energy spike.
"A Demonic Medium," Zarchary said as he sat in a lake with his eyes closed, or so it looked like – a lake full of black water, it was radiating with chaotic magical energy and the Demon was making himself comfortable, "A very rare and powerful ability that allows the Demon to summon an inner demonic spirit to take over their body, although it depends entirely if the Summoned demon is powerful,"
He then opened his eyes and looked in their direction – almost like he was picturing where he stood.
"In her case, her summon is extremely powerful and is wielding the same element as her which makes her attacks twice as effective," Zarchary said, "It will be a difficult battle but her power is not so far from that of the Void sacrifice, but the Monster Monarch will have to realize that his Holy flames won’t one-shot this Demon that has been summoned,"
"Because she is very accustomed to the feeling of holy flames," Zarchary said, his voice trailing away as he became disinterested in the matter soon after.

Rem leaped backward, dodging a punch from the demon with accuracy but the wind rattled in front of him sending him flying backward. Rem regained his balance and buried his feet into the ground, stopping his fall. 𝘧𝓇ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝘣𝓃ℴ𝓋𝑒𝑙.𝑐𝘰𝑚
’I need to finish this off as soon as possible,’ Rem thought as both of his palms were soon coated with Holy flames, he pointed his palms at the demon and the mythical flames burst forward, bathing the demon in their domineering heat but the results were the opposite of what Rem had expected – with a single swipe of her right palm, the flames were canceled out and she didn’t even have anything like a scratch on her body... she was completely unscathed.
’But this is supposedly very effective on Demons,’ Rem thought, especially after seeing how quickly Aegi succumbed to the Holy flames before it had finished burning down his body.
The Demon screeched, her voice volatile enough to stun Rem for a moment as she immediately stretched out her palms, several blades of wind shot through the air heading toward the Apprentice – he brandished his blade and released his soul energy, letting it wrap around his Shortsword elegantly before focusing on the first wind blade.
’The amount of destructive power it contains is something I can overpower easily,’ Rem thought as he prepared to slash through the wind blade but he soon moved out of the way, two wind blades slamming into the ground where he had once stood and ravaging it.
’She’s controlling all of them effortlessly, in fact, she’s creating even more of them – if I try to destroy one, another two will try to kill me,’ Rem thought, even though he had landed a Convergence, the effects of the Convergence were rendered completely useless in this situation.
’I should be able to turn this situation around with a couple of Convergences but that leaves the greatest problem – How do I get close to her?’ Rem thought as his gray eyes flickered in a green light, the wind blades all shot at his current position making it even harder for him to think.
