The Monster Monarch System-Chapter 134: A Medium’s Troubles
A pale pink demon sat in a dark space, her crimson eyes shivering and her horns visibly shaking as she felt her connection with her physical body, the body she had given to the Demonic Spirit as a Medium – She felt the connection with her body severing at her finger-tips, the gateway which had been a portal right in front of her in this dark space had begun receding.
Even if she was currently in her astral body, she could feel fear... she could never imagine this happening, not in a million years and yet it was happening, she reached for the portal knowing that this would cause complications in the ritual and yet she couldn’t care less, after all she wanted to live... her desire to live was strong because she wanted to live for not only her sake but Aegi as well.
With that, the demon pulled herself into the gateway to her physical body and after it went through, the black space crumbled into nothingness – her will to live would only result in her own death.

A loud explosion echoed around the surrounding area, one that the others that had been going on in the surrounding area paled in comparison to – even Megan was shaken when she heard this explosion but she remembered what Rem had told her, she wasn’t meant to leave the tent no matter what so she could only wait for what was happening outside to conclude.
If it was a battle with a monster – which it very much sounded like – Megan was confident in Rem to kill that monster.
Meanwhile on the outside, the area where the battle had taken placed was razed... riddled with web-like cracks and craters as even Rem’s eyebrows were raised in surprise.
’I didn’t expect four of those fissures to pack so much power,’ Rem thought as he observed the devastation with his own eyes, the demon was on the ground after all but not in the way he wanted.
She was sprawled across the ground in a pool of blood, her body was fine – still as big as how it had first been, of course that was until it reached her waist and that was where it ended... there was nothing from there. The rest had been blasted into oblivion by the fissures but the top side of her body hadn’t escaped without injuries.
There were slight burns and discoloring on her skin, of course it was due to the fireballs that had been showered on her earlier. Even after everything, the demon only seemed to be slightly groaning, it wasn’t showing any real signs of rage like before.
’A-again?’ Rem thought as he peered at her soul – at the beginning of the battle, he had seen a single soul and as Rem was about to dispose of her, another soul quickly took charge and inhabited the body, even making a lot of trouble for him in the process but now he was looking at those two souls... existing in the same body and he couldn’t help but utter a sigh, ’I wonder if these demons ever learn,’
He immediately sprinted away from his current location, heading toward the four walls made of holy flames and noticing that their figures looked less than optimal – he immediately knew that they would not be enough to prevent what was coming. Rem stomped his foot on the ground while facing the demon which was still unmovable now and the walls glistened with even more energy.
’It is possible for a body to house two souls,’ Rem thought, ’But it has to be a very powerful one – and although that body is powerful, it is currently very weak after my attacks so I doubt it would be able to prevent destruction which means I have to defend against the Explosion,’

"I thought we had a deal," The Demonic spirit was the first one to speak as they were in a similar space to the black void of earlier, the only space in the body that could contain the soul, the Spiritual space and both souls revolved around in this place represented by two orbs – an orb of red and an orb of blue, with the Demonic Spirit being the red and the Medium being the blue.
"I was afraid... your place was falling apart," The Medium responded.
"Well, you’re not wrong about that," The Demonic Spirit said, "If you had stayed within that space, you would have been unable to access your body again,"
The Medium let out a sigh of relief, at least the spirit understood.
"But that’s exactly what I wanted to happen to you," The Demonic spirit admitted, "That’s why I closed the gateway but it seems that when in this body, I can barely control my own space,"
"W-w-why would you want to do something like that to me? I’m your Medium!" The Medium cried out with displeasure.
"We’re both demons, demons are selfish and there are several cases where the Demonic Spirit takes over the Medium’s body so this was to be expected, we were never friendly after all," The Demonic Spirit said.
The Medium felt her position compromised, she couldn’t appeal to the Demonic Spirit because it already... it was already in her body.
"Try and gain control if you can Medium," The Demonic Spirit said.

The Demon’s body began glowing in crimson lightning as the lower body was slowly being regenerated but the regeneration soon stopped and blue lightning appeared on the body – both souls tried their best to gain control over the body but their efforts only made the body more unstable than ever.
And the explosion Rem was preparing for soon happened, the explosion destroyed the ground below it and steadily advanced to Rem’s camp. While the tent was well protected, Rem didn’t have a guaranteed protection against the explosion so he ran through the flames and began strengthening the protection from the inside. The explosion washed over them soon after but it was unable to do anything as the holy flame walls were just that powerful and Rem had made sure that there was no opening.
’The souls couldn’t have been destroyed in that chaos so I’ll absorb them on my way out,’ Rem thought while smiling – the battle had given him more gains than ever and he didn’t even need to use the Runes.
