Chapter 462: 461. A Tantrum Throwing Little Dragon (1)

I lay Sol on the bed and tucked him in, his heartbeats were rather faint along with his breathing. It was hard to tell what this child might be going through.

Suddenly there was a knock on the door and I turned my head seeing Kai poking his head in.

"Master?" Kai called and I looked once at Sol before I stood up and walked to him.

"What’s wrong?" I asked.

"You’re leaving for Denril tomorrow morning, right?" He asked and I nodded.

"Yes,"

Kai then peeked at Sol who was sleeping and then asked me.

"Then what will happen to Sol?" He asked.

I didn’t have to tell him but he had gone through a curse himself so, he knew that Sol was suffering from a similar condition. He was worried about him that’s why he would never leave him alone except for the times that he would be training.

He knew how to cast healing spell but the curse was stronger so, Kai’s spell wasn’t up to the notch to ease Sol’s pain.

"That’s for him to decide," I said and Kai pursed his lips.

"I... I have been practising but I’m not as good as Master." He said and I placed my hand over his head.

"I know, you are working hard. But if he still doesn’t trust us then we can’t force him." I spoke and Kai hung his head.

"Why won’t be trust us though? He knows were good people... He even told me that you are one of the Dragons who could save this world." He said and my eyes widened.

"What?"

Kai looked up, it didn’t seem like he understood what he said.

"Sol says that you’re a good person-"

"No, after that."

"That you’re one of the Dragons who could save this world." He spoke and then tilted his head.

"I don’t know what he meant but he said that you are still weak... I don’t think so." He said and I looked back at Sol.

This child knew way lot that he should, it somehow made me wonder if my Patrons had something to do with him.

[Goddess of Wisdom says they don’t have anything to do with that Dragon.]

[Defender of Divine Glory asks you to not suspect then for any random point.]

"Why shouldn’t I? You guys don’t answer my questions at times and keep secrets, why would I trust you?"

Regardless, I should find out about his identity soon, this kid might just have the answers to all my questions.

"If things turned bad, I might have to take him with me to Denril." I spoke and Kai looked anxious.

"And if he stays here?" He asked.

"He might have to endure the pain." I shrugged.

Kai didn’t seem to like that possibility, I ruffled his hair gently before I smiled.

"That’s all up to him now, Kai. Don’t worry." I said and he nodded.

"Did you eat?" I asked and he shook his head with a sheepish look.

"Let’s eat together then, I’ll just change." I said.

He nodded before he walked away and I changed out of my clothes before I went to have dinner with him.

I let Sol sleep in my room while I finished up any other work that could remain and contacted Silas to come see me in the morning.

The night passed by pretty quickly and the next morning, I was getting ready for breakfast, I knew Davian’s hangover would delay our departure.

I heard movement from the bed as Remi buttoned up my shirt, he glanced once at the bed before he focused on his work.

He placed the coat over my shoulders along with the silver chain that crisscrossed over the lapels and then proceeded with the magic devices. The communication brooch, the teleportation pendant followed by Rune’s birthday gift.

The last accessory to be donned was the Ryujin family crest which he hooked over my coat before he stepped back and started brushing my hair. He tied my shoulder length aqua blue hair in a low ponytail before he stepped back and bowed.

"I’m done, Master." He said and I nodded adjusting the sapphire cuffs over my sleeves.

He blinked before he quickly stepped forth adjusting them properly.

"Sol," I spoke as from the corner of my eye I saw him slowly climb down my bed.

"Ye-Yes?" He responded.

"Stay for a while, I need to talk to you." I said.

"I’ll be down for breakfast soon, Remi. Go and check is His Highness is awake and also, get the chef to prepare some hangover soup for him." I instructed Remi and he bowed.

"Yes, Master."

Remi walked away while I made my way to my bed where Sol sat twiddling his thumbs.

I pulled an armchair near the bed and plopped down in it. I observed as he sat there avoiding my eyes.

"For how long are you going to try and hide it? You and I both know about what’s wrong with your body and also with your mana."

He flinched, "I... don’t know what you’re talking about."

I sighed giving him a colder look and demanded, "If you’re eager to die, I don’t mind. But I need answers. What happened on the day of the parade? Who was that demon? And what do you know about it?"

He stayed silent for a while, I could feel the faint pulse of his mana in the air. I had tried to wrack my brain to try and think of who he might be but since I didn’t have much information, conjecture was hard.

"I... don’t know who that demon was." He spoke up and I leaned ahead.

"I can’t answer all of your questions but, I can tell you that you are their target."

"Whose?" I asked.

"You know,"

"Demons?" I asked narrowing my eyes and he looked at me not answering.

"What did you mean when you told Kai about me saving the world?" I asked and he pursed his lips, going mum again.

"Answer me, Sol." I spoke firmly and he sighed.

"You know what you want to know," he said, "the answers to the rest of your questions must be found on your own. I can’t answer much more than this."

"You didn’t answer anything! You know you are cursed and I can help you but you’re still not telling me anything." I spoke, angry now.

I watched him before I sighed and then calmed myself down.

"Listen, why don’t we make a deal? I’ll help you get rid of that curse and you can give me information." I offered.

Sol pursed his lips clenching his fists, he seemed to be pondering over what to tell me. After a long moment, he sighed deeply and looked at me, his golden pupils focusing on mine.

"Do you know what kind of curse I’m under?" he asked.

"It’s restricting your mana heart and the mana flow in your body." I answered and he sighed nodding.

"My curse... was casted by a very strong demon." He said and then licked his lips as if wondering if he should continue or not.

"You are too weak to face that demon... You aren’t even a complete Dragon yet." He pointed out and I leaned ahead.

"You seem to know a lot more than you give away, Sol. How do you know that I’m not a complete Dragon?" I asked.

"I maybe trapped in this little body for now but I’m not a child,"

"Then, how old are you?" I asked.

He looked at me as if trying to gauge my expression before he sighed, "You don’t need to do that, just know that I’m older than you."

"Are you a Lesser Dragon?" I asked and he frowned.

"You... might say that." He said in a low voice and I sighed.

"Then you have no choice in this matter." I said making him look at me.

"You might die if I’m not around." I said and he rolled his eyes.

"I’ve survived for long enough without your help." He said and I narrowed my eyes.

"Then why did you come to me that night?" I asked making him go stiff, "You couldn’t endure the pain anymore that’s why you came looking for me, didn’t you? For how long are you going to act all tough and try and endure it on your own?"

Sol’s eyes lowered and he fell silent.

I observed him and then released a low breath, "Fine, do what you want. I’m going to have breakfast now, I’ll be gone in an hour. Decide what you want to do."

I didn’t stay to see his reaction as I rose to my feet and walked away.

At the dining hall, Kai and Davian waited for me. Davian’s pale face and creased forehead was enough to tell me that he was having a bad hangover.

"I hope you are enjoying the aftereffects of your party, Your Highness." I teased as I took my seat.

"It’s hell." He groaned and I chuckled.

"From now on, you should know not to drink beyond limits. But, it’s a good thing that you made a new friend." I said and he sighed.

"Davian made a friend?" Kai asked and I smiled.

"Yes, he is now friends with Zach." I said and Kai beamed.

"Then, that’s why Davian is like this," he said chuckling, "Even Zach is like this whenever he spends the night here."

Davian looked at him, "You should watch your words, Kai."

Kai tilted his head unable to understand what he meant and I just waved it off gesturing him to eat.

After breakfast, I told Davian to grab whatever stuff he had while I talked with Silas at the entrance of my mansion.

I handed him the box with the vials and told him about the situation.

"Although, I have a hunch on what it is but, I’ll need a confirmation so, that I could find out about the cause and the origin of this." I said and he nodded.

"You should take care, the long distance teleportation will utilize your mana." He said and I nodded.

"I know, that’s why, we won’t be teleporting right from here. We’ll be taking our horses till the borders, it will take time but we’ll be going through forests so, we might be at the closest town to the borders till late night, and teleport from there." I said and Silas narrowed his eyes.

"I thought you would fly,"

"If I were alone, I would have tried that but, I can’t carry Davian all the way." I said and Silas frowned as if the idea offended him.

"Good,"

"Take care of yourself and Aunt Alys, Uncle." I said and he nodded.

"You too," he spoke before he patted my shoulder.

Davian walked out with a sling bag and greeted Silas while Remi brought over our horses.

We were about to get on when I felt a tug on my coat and I turned to see Sol standing there with a small satchel hung around his shoulder.

He turned and looked at the entrance where Kai was standing gesturing him to go ahead.

"What is it?" I asked.

Sol averted his eyes and spoke, "I... I want to go too."

"You want to go with us?" I asked and he nodded while Davian watched us curiously.

He didn’t know about the curse.

"Are you sure?" I asked and Sol frowned before he looked up at me.

"I told you, didn’t I? Now... take me along." He spoke and I sighed looking at Kai gesturing him over.

Kai flustered before he walked over to me.

"Yes, Master?" He asked and I smiled before leaning down and placed a gently kiss over his forehead.

"Take care of yourself and don’t overexert yourself during training and studies, all right? And if you are in trouble, then don’t think of anything and call for me through your communication stone, do you understand?" I spoke as I straightened up and he touched his forehead gingerly while his cheeks flushed red.

"Ye-Yes..." He spoke and I smiled ruffling his hair before I turned and walked over to Sol.

I picked him up making him gasp before putting him on my horse’s back and then got on myself looking at my household personnel.

"Take care of our house in my absence." I spoke before I pulled the reins of my grey stallion gently and he neighed softly.

"Yes, Master!" My people spoke in unison and Silas waved at me before I and Davian took off.
