Chapter 293: Chapter 293: Awakening

"I’m fine." After a while, a forced smile appeared on Julian Sinclair’s pale face as he tried to reach out and touch Moira Young’s head.

But before his hand could lift, he already fell down weakly.

"Uncle!" Moira Young turned pale with fright and shouted to the others, "How much longer for the ambulance!"

"It’s already been called, it’ll be here shortly!"

As they spoke, the sound of the ambulance rang out from outside.

After arriving at the hospital, the doctors and nurses immediately took him into the emergency room.

About an hour later, the doctor came out of the emergency room, and Moira Young suppressing her voice asked, "Doctor, how is he?"

"It’s a minor issue, he was just knocked out, a bit of external injury at the back of the neck, plus a mild concussion, nothing serious, he just needs good rest." The doctor sighed in relief. The hallway was full of people and he feared if Julian Sinclair had a serious disease that couldn’t be treated, these people might overwhelm him.

Thank goodness, it’s just a minor issue.

Hearing the doctor say he’s fine, Moira Young finally felt at peace.

Her heart suddenly eased at this moment, making her feel a bit light-headed as she leaned to the side.

"Moira!" Joe, who had been by her side, quickly supported her upon seeing her falter and exclaimed.

"I’m okay, just a bit dizzy." Moira Young held onto Joe and sat down, "Everyone, please go back, I can stay here, thank you for your hard work today."

The people around, having just heard the doctor’s words and knowing Julian Sinclair was not seriously injured, told Moira Young to have a good rest and gradually left. 𝗳𝗿𝐞𝕖𝘄𝗲𝕓𝗻𝚘𝚟𝕖𝐥.𝚌𝕠𝕞

The last one left was Aiden Webb, who had come along the entire time and now seeing Moira Young’s pale face, placed a hand on her shoulder, his tone slightly tense, "You don’t look well."

Feeling the warmth on her shoulder made Moira Young a bit more at ease.

She lifted the corners of her mouth slightly, "Maybe it’s because I haven’t eaten anything, a bit of low blood sugar, it’s okay, I’ll ask Joe to buy me something to eat later. Professor Webb, it’s late, you should go back too."

Aiden Webb wanted to say something more but upon meeting Moira Young’s gaze, he ultimately frowned and left.

But just a few minutes later, a delivery rider came in from outside, "Hello, is this Miss Young? Here is your takeout."

"Oh, who ordered takeout?"

Joe stepped forward and took it, opening it to find sweet milk, small cakes, and two seemingly luxurious meals inside.

Moira Young guessed it might have been sent by Aiden Webb, but now her mind was filled with the person in the ward, and she only ate a few bites randomly to replenish her strength without eating much more.

Another half hour later, the nurse came out, "The patient is awake, family can visit."

Upon hearing this, Moira Young got up and quickly stepped into the ward.

However, what she faced when she entered were the man’s tightly closed eyes.

The nurse came in and seeing his closed eyes was a bit puzzled, "He was just awake, how did he fall asleep again?"

"What?" As he spoke rather softly, Moira Young didn’t hear clearly, and she bit her lip asking the doctor in the ward, "Doctor, why hasn’t he woken up yet?"

Just as the doctor was about to speak, he felt a menacing gaze from a certain man on the hospital bed, and all of his words were swallowed back.

Rubbing his nose, he quickly responded, "Although there isn’t a big problem, we can’t determine when he will wake, but you don’t need to worry, he should wake up soon."

"Alright." Moira Young nodded while pursing her lips.

"I’ll step out for now; if there’s any issue, call me anytime."

"Okay, thank you for your hard work."

After the doctor left, Moira Young looked at the unconscious Julian Sinclair and sighed, "Uncle, when will you wake up?"

"As long as you wake up, I’ll forgive you, okay?" Even though the doctor had reassured her multiple times that Julian Sinclair was fine, Moira Young couldn’t rest easy.

Julian Sinclair’s mind stirred, ready to open his eyes, but then Moira Young’s incessant murmuring reached his ears again.

"Why are you so silly? Couldn’t you just walk away with me? Why must you use your body to shield me? You’re shrewd when doing business, why act dumb now?"

"Uncle, you mustn’t have anything wrong, if something happens to you, what am I supposed to do?"

Moira Young pouted her small lips, tears beginning to swell in her eyes.

Hearing Moira Young’s voice seemed to have changed a bit, Julian Sinclair knew he couldn’t pretend any longer and reluctantly lifted his eyelids, emitting a faint murmur, "Moira."

The hoarse voice dragged Moira Young out of her sorrow, and as she raised her head, she met Julian Sinclair’s deep black eyes.

"Uncle, you’re awake." Moira Young’s voice was filled with surprise.

"Silly girl, why are you crying?" Julian Sinclair saw the tears at the corners of Moira Young’s eyes once he opened his eyes, and his chest suddenly ached.

Moira Young sniffled, reaching out her small hand to wipe away her tears, a bright smile breaking on her face, "It’s good you woke up, it’s good you woke up. Don’t be so foolish next time, you almost scared me to death."

Julian Sinclair reached out to pinch her small nose, affectionately saying, "Silly, how could I let anything happen to you."

"But you can’t be so impulsive anymore, okay?" Moira Young was truly frightened, worried that Julian Sinclair might stay asleep forever.

"Alright, I understand." Julian Sinclair rubbed Moira Young’s little head, agreeing readily.

He’s never impulsive, except when it comes to Moira Young, he just can’t remain calm.

"Uncle, I have something to tell you." After this incident, Moira Young suddenly realized that there were things that needed to be clarified immediately. If an accident really happened someday, some misunderstandings might never have a chance to be explained.

Julian Sinclair rubbed his sore temples, nodding slightly, "Okay, I’m listening."

"You’ve always been hostile towards Aiden Webb, is it because you think I’m special to him?"

"Yes."

Moira Young asked directly, and Julian Sinclair answered just as straightforwardly.

"Uncle, I don’t know how to say it actually, but facing Aiden Webb brings me comfort, from the moment I first met him, I instinctively wanted to get close to him. It feels as if there’s a familiar aura about him, like family; he always brings warmth and kindness to me."

Pausing for a moment, Moira Young smiled sadly, "Perhaps... it’s because of things from my childhood, so it’s especially easy to feel this kind of closeness with someone like Aiden Webb who feels like a brother."

Julian Sinclair hadn’t expected Moira Young to speak directly to him like this, and his heart ached.

He understood well the things from her childhood. Her biological mother had still not been found, and there was that kind of father...

Instinctively, he reached out and grabbed Moira Young’s hand in front of the hospital bed, not interrupting her words, yet his deep gaze left people wondering what he was thinking.
