I Can Give Talents-Chapter 462 - Awake
Seeing her expression, Leyvi knew what she was thinking.
"Here, read this. It will give you the context," he said, handing over another jade slip containing the assassination order.
Rose took it and scanned the contents. Her eyes widened briefly before returning to their usual calm.
"This is quite surprising. I didn’t expect someone would want to kill all the princes who came to the Mystic Realm, except for one. No wonder only Prince Charles and Prince Ozan are the only princes who arrived here after all this time," Rose observed.
"Do you think the other princes have already died?" Leyvi asked.
"I am not sure... but considering that I never saw or heard about them for years, it is highly likely. But don’t worry, Darling. I will investigate them thoroughly just to be certain." Rose reassured him.
"Ah, you don’t have to look for Dastan. He is with me," Leyvi told her.
Rose was surprised. Now it made sense why her beloved was getting involved in a problem that should have had nothing to do with him.
It turned out that Crown Prince Dastan was with him. No wonder he was being so extremely cautious about all of this.
Although her time with Leyvi had been short, she could already grasp a few of his core personality traits. He was not someone who would willingly meddle in another person’s business.
She was well aware that her beloved found her activities of deceiving and scamming the men in her faction to be repulsive. However, despite knowing that she would do anything he asked, he had never demanded she stop her deceitful operations, nor had he exposed them.
But what impressed her the most was his unmovable will against temptation, whether it was wealth, women, or power. It was not that he was devoid of these desires, but rather that he did not let them sway his priorities. And his priorities were always the people close to him.
So the fact that he was willing to involve himself in this matter meant that Crown Prince Dastan must have become someone quite close to him.
But of course, this was just her assumption. From what she had heard, Crown Prince Dastan had an annoying personality that made many nobles hesitate to build relationships with him.
She could not see how someone like that had become close to her darling. They seemed pretty incompatible.
"Leave this to me, Darling. You relax here as much as you can. If any of our ladies catches your eye, just tell Liyan. She will arrange it." Rose teased lightly.
Leyvi rolled his eyes. As if I would.
"Fufufu~. Do you have anything else you want me to do, Darling? Maybe... a little personal service from me?" Her silken ribbon loosened slightly, revealing a tempting glimpse of cleavage. Her tone was low, charming, and deliberately alluring.
"Hmm... That is it for now. You may leave." Leyvi said, calmly ignoring her advance.
Rose did not move. She simply stared at Leyvi, her lips forming a soft, exaggerated pout.
Why is it so hard to seduce Darling? Any other man would have tried to ravish me by now. Not that I would let them, of course. Ahhh... this is also why Darling is the best man in the world... I love him! Please touch me, Darling.
An idea came to her.
"Darling, if I do a good job, promise to give me a nice reward, okay?" Rose said, her eyes wide and innocent.
Huh? She wants a reward? Leyvi blinked.
With her current state of devotion, I thought she wouldn’t ask for anything at all. But this is actually good. Now I don’t have to feel like I am just using her. Should I give her some of my top-grade spirit stones? Or maybe a share of the heavenly dishes? Hmm, why not both? She has been a big help after all.
"Alright. I promise," Leyvi said.
Rose’s eyes sparkled. "Yay! A nice reward from Darling! I am so motivated now! I will do my best for my reward!" She stood up and began hopping happily where she stood.
But due to her already loosened dress, the hopping caused her full mounds to slip out entirely, revealing a breathtaking pair.
"Opps. Pardon me, Darling. My bunnies could not wait to see you and hopped out without permission." She tucked them back inside with practiced grace, every movement exuding overwhelming, deliberate charm.
Leyvi’s mouth twitched. He did not know whether this was intentional or not.
"Then... I will excuse myself. Enjoy your stay here, Darling. I hope Darling can fully trust me from now on." Rose said, charmingly exiting the chamber, her hips swaying with practiced elegance.
Leyvi compared the sway of her hips to that of Manager Linda and concluded that Rose still had some learning to do before reaching Linda’s level of mastery.
After she left, Leyvi let out a small sigh.
"Dealing with a charming woman is really exhausting. What do I do with you now?" Leyvi said while glancing down at the noticeable bulge in his pants.
Although he could resist the temptation, it did not mean he would not have any physical reaction.
Her title as the Pink Enchantress truly lived up to its reputation. The pink he had glimpsed was the most vivid shade he had ever seen. A few of his wives whom he considered to have pink features, only had a faint, soft hue. They were nowhere near Rose’s striking, almost luminous pink.
"Wait, does that mean her pink lips are her actual natural color? All this time I thought it was lipstick," he muttered to himself.
Thinking about Rose left him somewhat conflicted. At first, he had hated her intensely, to the point where he had felt no qualms about killing her. But now, he probably could not muster that same determination anymore.
It was a pity that her devotion was the result of a spell. If it were not, he might not have minded bringing her to Anda for approval. No matter how close he and Rose might become in the future, there would always be that artificial barrier, a divide that separated them forever.
Leyvi picked up the sword from the table. It was still cold, the lingering Frost Qi pulsing faintly within the metal.
"Anda’s ability is truly incredible," his mind wandered again.
Even though he was almost completely certain that Rose would not betray him, that tiny, lingering sliver of doubt had been enough to push him to test her so harshly. If Anda were here, this would have been a piece of cake. He would not have had to work his brain so hard just to trust someone.
All hail the Panda Goddess. Leyvi silently worshipped his wife.
Leyvi glanced around the chamber, taking in the dim lighting and the subtle fragrance lingering in the air.
"This place’s atmosphere is really keeping me aroused," he muttered. "Maybe I should have brought Anda along. She would’ve loved this kind of roleplay. It’d be immersive."
"Kekeke! What kind of roleplay are you talking about, human Leyvi? I’m curious."A familiar mental voice echoed.
"Oh, come on. That’s private business between husband and wife." Leyvi paused, then blinked. "Eh? Senior Lapin! Are you finally awake? Why did you sleep for so long?"
"Kekeke! It’s probably related to that tree." Lapin replied. "The moment you climbed it, I was forcibly dragged into a dream. The world itself was calling for help. It kept replaying again and again. I couldn’t escape."
"...You had that dream too?" Leyvi looked genuinely surprised.
If Lapin experienced it as well, then it wasn’t directed solely at him. That realization eased his mind slightly.
"Oh?" Lapin sounded startled in return. "You too?"
Leyvi nodded. "Yeah. I was exhausted after searching for the portals, fell asleep, and got pulled in. But I only saw it once. I woke up right after."
Lapin fell silent.
Just how terrifying was this kid’s mental fortitude?
He had only been pulled into the dream after being completely exhausted, and after he had rested, he had escaped it just like that. Unbelievable. It had taken him so long to break free. The difference was immense.
Leyvi then explained everything that had occurred while Lapin was trapped in the dream.
Lapin was absolutely shocked to learn that the news about the portals being there was completely made up. He couldn’t help but curse at this false information. How could he not be angry? This was the first time in his life to be deceived like this. Even though the lie wasn’t directly targeting him, it felt horrible just the same.
As Leyvi’s stories continue, Lapin’s mood quickly turned for the better.
Leyvi chuckled inwardly. It seems that Lapin wasn’t someone who dwelt on a bad mood for long.
"Kekeke. An enlightened spiritual imprint..." Lapin chuckled. "That would’ve been interesting to witness myself. A pity. What about the mask? Anything special about it?"
Leyvi blinked. "Ah, right. I haven’t inspected it since then. I completely forgot." He laughed. "Let’s check it together. With you around, I feel a lot safer. I’m paranoid now. I don’t want another ghost popping out to kill me."
