Super Soldier in the City-Chapter 2194 - 2258: I’m Your Fan
"So, we..." Xiang Qian waited for a while, Li Yifei didn’t say anything, so he couldn’t help but ask.
Li Yifei raised his hand to stop Xiang Qian, saying, "I’ll make a call first. If the police can handle it well, that would be great. We could find a good place for the guys to drink, chat, and brag!"
Xiang Qian nodded, and after Li Yifei dialed the number, Wu Shuwei answered the phone. Li Yifei confirmed, chuckled, and said, "Weiwei, turns out your family calls you this name."
Wu Shuwei frowned and said, "My dad asked you guys to stop, so stop. My dad has already called, someone will handle it soon, you..."
"I know, but I still want to say a few words to... uh, Uncle." Li Yifei said.
Almost calling ’Dad’ made Wu Shuwei nearly throw her phone. She quickly looked back at Wu Qingfeng, who sat on the sofa expressionless, not knowing if he had heard the phone. Wu Shuwei said, "Dad, Li Yifei wants to talk to you."
"Okay." Wu Qingfeng nodded, took the phone, and didn’t speak. He just listened as Li Yifei paused for a moment and said, "Uncle Wu, how about this? I’ll investigate first, at least catch them and confirm if they are the terrorists I encountered at the airport..."
"Screw that, why do we need the police then? Quickly, tell me what you know, I’ll immediately send people, don’t waste time." Wu Qingfeng said angrily.
"This old man is unreasonable..." Li Yifei grinned. He wasn’t insisting too much, but since things were halfway done, and people were sent out, accepting it at this point made Li Yifei a bit unwilling.
"I’ll give you three seconds to agree, or I’ll have you arrested. Bold move, hacking the airport’s computer, do you know the damage caused?"
Li Yifei was about to cave in when Xiang Qian’s phone rang. He looked at the number and quickly answered, hearing a panicked voice. The call was from Zheng Mingrui, who shouted, "Where’s the boss? Damn it, they have guns, Li Ying... Li Ying was shot."
Li Yifei was just about to brush off Wu Qingfeng, when his mouth froze half-open upon hearing the urgent voice from Zheng Mingrui. He suddenly grabbed the phone and asked, "What did you say? Li Ying got shot? Dammit, why didn’t you report when you found them?"
"We ran into them, their car was parked in the lot, not moving. We checked here and suddenly their car started. Li Ying and I tried to stop them, but we only had knives and couldn’t stop the car. There wasn’t time to report."
"Stop talking, how’s Li Ying now?" Li Yifei asked urgently, signaling the remaining two to follow him out.
"The chest was hit... a lot of blood, he’s unconscious, Brother Song chased after them!" Zheng Mingrui said hurriedly.
"Damn, call an ambulance, why call me? I’m heading there now, hold on!"
Three guys went over, damn, someone got shot, damn it... Li Yifei almost cursed, but this wasn’t the time to panic.
He was careless, thinking they would change their route, but they were still there, and now these two got caught, Li Yifei was furious.
Of course, it wasn’t necessarily that Li Ying and Zheng Mingrui were careless, they clearly didn’t expect them to have guns, and by the time they discovered it, it was too late to dodge. The enemies were determined to shoot, and it was hard to avoid at such close range.
Li Yifei was both anxious and angry, forgetting he still held the phone, still on call with Wu Shuwei. Wu Qingfeng and Wu Shuwei heard Li Yifei’s voice clearly. Wu Qingfeng couldn’t sit still anymore; he heard that they found people and someone got shot. In Huaxia, especially in Capital City, gunfire, let alone murder, is a major incident. But he shouted into the phone for a while, Li Yifei didn’t respond, only the sound of hurried footsteps before quickly getting into a car and Li Yifei giving an address. Wu Qingfeng understood and urgently called his secretary in, issuing instructions, and a SWAT team was ordered to mobilize immediately.
In less than twenty minutes, Li Yifei arrived at the underground parking lot, dashed in, and saw Little Song standing there. Zheng Mingrui had already sent Li Ying to the hospital, and on the other side, the police were making a big scene, a squad of SWAT surrounded Li Yifei and the others.
"Damn it!" Li Yifei finally couldn’t hold back and cursed.
"Captain, sorry, we messed up!" Little Song bowed his head and said dejectedly. He couldn’t accept the fact, three official members of the Flying Hawk Squad went to catch a terrorist, not only failing to catch them but getting one of their own shot; it was humiliating.
"Don’t talk about that now, how’s Li Ying, is he in danger?" Li Yifei waved his hand and said.
"He... doesn’t look too good, the bullet hit the left side of his chest, likely hitting the heart," Little Song said.
Li Yifei’s eyes twitched, seeing those SWAT members surrounding them, he said angrily, "I’m going to the hospital to see Li Ying, you all stay here and track that bastard down for me. Today we’re taking him out!"
"Yes!" The four members of the Flying Hawk Squad immediately agreed. As they responded, Li Yifei headed towards the SWAT members. From dozens of meters away, they aimed their guns. Li Yifei took out his phone and dialed Wu Shuwei’s number. Once connected, Li Yifei said, "Shuwei, give the phone to your dad."
"Are you okay?" Wu Shuwei asked worriedly.
"I’m fine. A comrade has been shot, I’m heading to the hospital to check on him."
"Yifei, don’t get too worked up. The target is already exposed. My dad just ordered a full-scale control; he won’t escape,"
"I know. But I’m heading to the hospital. The police are here, they might not let me through. Ask your dad to inform them. My comrade got shot in the heart. I’m afraid he won’t make it; I need to save him."
"Alright!" Wu Shuwei agreed without hesitation. She quickly conveyed the message to Wu Qingfeng. Though Wu Qingfeng was not pleased, given Li Yifei’s powerful abilities and frequent disregard for the police and law, after some persuasion from Wu Shuwei, he agreed.
Li Yifei rushed to the hospital. When he arrived, Li Ying was undergoing emergency treatment. Zheng Mingrui, covered in blood, was anxiously waiting at the operating room’s entrance. Seeing Li Yifei run over, Zheng Mingrui slapped himself twice, saying he was useless. Li Yifei hurried over and asked, "What’s Li Ying’s condition now?"
"The doctors are trying to save him, but it’s hard to say. The bullet hit the heart, though on the edge, it caused massive bleeding. Luckily, the hospital is close, and there’s enough blood supply."
"I need to get in there!" Li Yifei said, walking over to push the door. The emergency room can’t be barged into by just anyone, a nurse immediately came out to stop him as he pushed the door. Not bothering to argue, Li Yifei used acupoint aiming on the nurse, leaving her frozen, and proceeded inside. The doctors inside were shocked at seeing him, yelling for him to leave. Li Yifei removed his coat, shouting, "Don’t panic, I’m here to save him. Trust me!"
Glancing at the monitoring equipment, Li Yifei noticed Li Ying’s heartbeat was very weak, almost flatlining. He couldn’t waste any more time. He grabbed Li Ying’s hand, channeling his True Qi into him, even using his stored Innate Vital Energy. Additionally, he pressed a few acupoints to temporarily block them.
The doctors stopped and watched him. One nurse shouted, "Oh my, the heartbeat’s coming back, doctor, look."
A doctor checked and found that the patient’s heart, which was almost given up on, was indeed starting to beat again and the bleeding seemed to decrease, stunning them. The other doctors also looked over, while Li Yifei had no time to linger. He could control Li Ying’s condition but not for long; the surgery had to be done quickly.
Immediately, he shouted to the paused doctors, "Hurry and extract the bullet, I can only hold on for a bit."
"Ah! Okay, okay!" The doctors, never having encountered such a thing, hurriedly resumed the surgery.
Half an hour later, Li Yifei was sweating profusely. He couldn’t keep using Innate Vital Energy to sustain Li Ying’s vitals, so he switched to his True Qi. This was Li Yifei’s first experience like this and it was draining. The doctors operated at an unusually fast pace, less concerned about patient safety.
Finally, Li Ying’s life was pulled back from the brink. Had Li Yifei delayed any longer, Li Ying might have died and it would have been a lifelong regret haunting him for his comrade.
Li Yifei watched as the surgery ended and the bullet was extracted. Li Ying was to be moved to the intensive care unit. He exhaled a deep breath — sweat covering his forehead. The doctors hadn’t left, all eyeing Li Yifei with intrigued expressions.
"I’ll rest a bit," Li Yifei said, sitting on the ground, not caring about cleanliness.
"Sir, you... you’re truly a miracle!" one doctor exclaimed, walking over excitedly.
"Yes indeed. In all my years of practice, I’ve never seen someone as incredible as you. What method did you use just now? Was it mystical Qigong?" a more senior doctor asked, eyes wide with shock as he removed his mask.
Li Yifei glanced up at them when suddenly a nurse ran over, looking thrilled at him, unable to contain her excitement yet hesitant to approach, saying, "Oh my God, you are... you’re the comrade veteran, right? I recognize you. I’m your fan. I’ve followed you on Twitter from the start."
Li Yifei wiped the sweat from his face, looked at her, and smiled, "Yes, it’s me."
