Saving the Heartthrob Frenemy-Chapter 527: Getting turned on in the Arena
Master Zi clenched his fists as he watched Qie Xieling and his group of goons fight off the beasts in the arena. He had made sure his subordinates would send the most vicious and ferocious beasts towards Luo Muchen which in turn would affect Qie Xieling, hoping to see them torn apart by the claws and fangs. But to his dismay, one by one, the beasts fell under the blades and arrows of Qie Xieling’s group. They were skilled, coordinated, and fearless. They collected the tokens from the corpses of the beasts, increasing their score and rank.
Master Zi could not stand it anymore. He wanted them dead but he had forgotten how formidable the men from the mercenary clans were. Those beasts would never be able to touch the hairs on Luo Muchen and Qie Xieling’s heads. As long as this so-called heir was alive it revitalised a system that he worked hard to abolish. The system of the monarchy was restrictive and he couldn’t do what he wanted. He and his father couldn’t conduct their corrupt activities when they were being watched like hawks and had to report to someone. Without this system, he could be as unscrupulous as he wanted without being held accountable. This meant that Qie Xieling had to go by any means necessary. He had to separate them from those mercenaries.
What irked him even more was the fact that the crowd was pining over him. They would cheer enthusiastically because it was much more bloody and gory when that group took down a beast ten times more powerful than what the others were facing. This wouldn’t help the situation especially if he entered the people’s hearts and got more supporters. It would be extremely troublesome.
He felt a surge of anger and frustration, and he struggled to hide it behind a mask of indifference. He did not want to show any weakness or emotion in front of the elders, who were watching the spectacle from their seats. He knew they were secretly watching him carefully.
He decided he had to do something. He could not let those two walk out of there alive. He called out his servant, who was standing behind him, and whispered some instructions in his ear. He told him that there was a change of plan.
The servant nodded his head and left. Elder Xuan watched the servant leave from the corner of his eye. The servant didn’t take long coming back with a tray with a pitcher of wine. Elder Xuan wasn’t stupid. The message had been passed on to someone else. Whether it would be conveyed to its intended destination was another thing.

A warrior dressed in a green robe hurried along the back passageways of the arena. He had to deliver the instructions from Master Zi that were to let the men at the beast can release the most dangerous beast that he had reserved as a fail-safe.
He glanced around nervously. He had the feeling of being watched by a person with ill intent. His steps quickened as he turned a corner. He saw a door marked with a lion’s head. That was the entrance to the place where all those scary beasts were kept. He breathed a sigh of relief and reached for the handle. But before he could open it, he felt a pair of strong hands grab him from behind. One hand covered his mouth and nose, while the other arm wrapped around his neck. He tried to scream, but no sound came out. He tried to struggle, but the person was much stronger than him. He felt his vision blur and his limbs go limp. He dropped the scroll in his hand and fell to the floor, unconscious. Just like that, he disappeared.
As the competition proceeded Master Zi’s brow furrowed having realised that something was wrong. He tapped his armrest impatiently.
Meanwhile, the arena was going through another shift the ground trembling beneath their feet. Luo Muchen pulled Qie Xieling close. He was so afraid that something would happen to him. He was even afraid that he might trip and fall hurting himself.
Qie Xieling didn’t really react as he was used to it. The only problem was that with Luo Muchen breathing down his neck he might get turned on and it would be very difficult to solve in this place. "Will you stop breathing down my neck," he said and Luo Muchen who was sneakily sniffing the fragrance on his body was a little embarrassed after getting caught. He glanced at Qie Xieling’s slightly reddened skin. 𝒻𝓇𝑒𝘦𝘸𝑒𝒷𝓃ℴ𝑣𝘦𝑙.𝒸ℴ𝘮
"Sorry... love," he whispered in Qie Xieling’s ear. As a result, he was shoved away. When the arena stopped shifting they were attacked immediately but not by beasts.
They were surrounded by a group of smaller clans that had formed an alliance. The logical reason was that it was about their tokens but it was a stupid plan. They were probably unaware of who was accompanying Qie Xieling otherwise they would have chosen someone else to confront.
Qie Xieling could sense that there was a deeper motive behind their attacks. They had to have been sent by Master Zi to attack them and they would receive some sort of benefits.
The people at the forefront were a man with a beast’s mane and a spear from the Shizi Clan, a woman with a snake’s tattoo and a whip from the She Clan, a man with a wolf’s fur and a bow from the Lang Clan, a woman with a tiger’s stripe and a claw from the Laohu Clan, and a man with a bear’s beard and a hammer from the Xiong Clan.
They were the best of the small clans and behind them were their people. They smiled wickedly.
"How the might have fallen... it is true what they say. The bigger they are, the harder they fall," said the woman with the snake tattoo as she stared at Luo Muchen. Their paths had crossed but like an immortal high above the sky, he ignored her and acted like he was too good for her. Now he was an injured street urchin with no clan. She couldn’t wait to watch him beg for mercy at her feet.
