Chapter 101: Terrible Outcome

The battle between Lin Xuan and Ye Jun had been going on for half an hour, simply because Ye Jun refused to fight straight and Lin Xuan couldn’t catch up.

It was like a game of cat and mouse.

The audience would have grown bored and left if they hadn’t witnessed Ye Jun learning a Martial Art so quickly. They wanted to see if it was true or not.

Just when they thought the match was getting too boring and Ye Jun was bluffing, something changed within the arena. A change in atmosphere caused by Ye Jun.

His demeanor changed as he stopped, a stupid grin on his face. Lin Xuan froze upon sensing the change, a terrible possibility once again rising in his heart.

Ye Jun flexed his dagger and slid into a new posture. Hand low, blade diagonally facing the opponent while the body leaned forward slightly, as if ready to burst into motion.

It was very familiar to Lin Xuan. His mind went numb as he muttered, "N-No! This is impossible!"

In the next second, flames sprang out of Ye Jun’s hands and covered his dagger, dancing around it wildly. It distracted one from seeing the blade properly.

"Impossible!" Lin Xuan screamed in terror. He couldn’t believe it. "I spent three years mastering it. How could you? No! You definitely learnt it previously."

"Someone must have stolen your entire clan’s treasury, huh. I guess I have every single thing," Ye Jun said, before he dashed forward using Ashen Phantom Steps.

After entering Fifth-Stage Qi Condensation Realm, he gained an additional Qi Vortex, which meant an additional reservoir. Not to mention his Qi control.

He moved with terrible agility, crimson blazes left behind everywhere he stepped as he charged at Lin Xuan. The man tried to parry the attack, but he was too shocked by the change of events and also tired. So his movements turned slower.

Ye Jun took advantage of that and made a stab under his sword. Lin Xuan tried to intercept it but realized too late it was a feint.

In the end, Ye Jun shifted the trajectory and stabbed his hand holding the sword. Lin Xuan screamed in pain as the flames made it worse and more painful.

The sword dropped from his hand as he tried to back away using quick footwork, but Ye Jun was already in pursuit. Before Lin Xuan could get far, a dagger came flying right toward his forehead.

In panic, he dodged the blow, only to realize that Ye Jun had actually thrown the dagger instead of attacking directly. For a moment, he couldn’t understand why someone would abandon their weapon like this.

Soon, the answer came in the form of a solid kick to his jaw.

"Sweet Chin Music!"

Ye Jun kicked his chin, sending him flying high into the air. He had forced Lin Xuan to move toward the edge, so one single kick threw him out of the arena.

He landed amidst the new disciples, completely unconscious, blood still dripping from his wounded hand, as some seniors moved to help him.

Ye Jun stood tall in the arena, looking over at everyone. With his muscular physique and cold smile, he appeared more terrifying even though he was weaker than most people here.

"The winner is Ye Jun. He will get six months’ allowance of Disciple Lin Xuan and will be ranked 405th in the Tempest Gale Rankings," Han Yuexin announced.

Everyone sucked in a deep breath, too stunned by the outcome. The seniors had dark expressions, as even they didn’t expect this to happen.

It wasn’t just a defeat, but pure humiliation. A newcomer defeated one of them with their own skills. Even though they didn’t want to believe it, they knew it could be true. He learned the skill on the spot.

On the other hand, the new recruits cheered for Ye Jun. There were some who weren’t happy with him taking the limelight, but they were few.

Ye Jun waved his hand at them, then went to pick up the fallen sword. It was a red-bladed longsword with three purple gems set in its hilt. An engraving of a beard was on the base, which Ye Jun guessed was the identity of its creator.

He put it on his shoulder and turned toward Feng Hui, who was still smiling, but there was no mirth in his eyes. He looked coldly at Ye Jun and said, "Very good, Junior Brother. I didn’t know the new recruits would have someone like you."

"It’s not your fault. Exceptions like me rarely come," Ye Jun smiled and said. "But of course, I should also thank you for this pleasant welcome."

"No need for that," Feng Hui said, as he turned around to leave. "Just remember that Lin Xuan was among the weakest here. An average, you can say. So don’t grow complacent."

"I know. That’s why I didn’t even bother using my powers," Ye Jun said.

Feng Hui paused, then left the arena without looking back. Clearly, the tradition couldn’t go on like this, so there was no point in staying. The other seniors were the same, so soon only the new recruits were left on the field, cheering and laughing in happiness.

Ye Jun watched them for some time before saying, "You all shouldn’t be this happy."

They finally stopped and turned toward him, confused.

"I literally dug a grave for you, you know," Ye Jun said casually. "Normally, they would have just bullied you here and probably for a few more days. Now that you showed support to me, they’re going to torment you all year."

Many faces paled as reality finally dawned on them. Some instantly changed their stance and cursed Ye Jun for doing something like this. The rest were confident that they could deal with the consequences, so they didn’t speak.

"Yes, yes. Now go home before they return," Ye Jun waved his hand and jumped down from the arena.

Ignoring the audience, who slowly began to disperse, clearly worried about their future, he made his way toward his friends, who all wore smiles.

Mountain was obviously very pleased with it, since the seniors had asked him to bow down. Although Ye Jun didn’t know much about Ulankar, he could guess that kneeling meant a lot in their culture.

It was the same in the lowlands, but certainly not that sacred.

As for Song Liangxue, she wore a proud smile, though he had a guess that she was proud of herself for choosing him. That was the kind of woman he chose for his wife.

Lastly, Meihui wore a silent, happy expression, clearly pleased for him. She nodded at him and said, "Brilliantly done."

"Come to Ulankar," Mountain said. "Will treat you as my brother and introduce you to the Chief. He will be pleased to meet a good lowlander."

"I’ll visit when I can," Ye Jun nodded and said. "Shall we go eat? I’m guessing it’ll be our last meal together for quite some time."

They all agreed and began to walk toward the Dining Hall. The basic meal was free for every disciple, and if they wanted to eat something better, like Spiritual Beast meat, then they would have to pay contribution points.

Thinking of contribution points, Ye Jun paused and turned around, "Elder Han!"

Han Yuexin was just about to leave but stopped upon hearing his shout. She turned toward him and asked, "What happened?"

Ye Jun went toward her and asked, "How many contribution points will I get for giving a Peak-Grade Profound Rank Cultivation Manual to the sect?"

Her expression changed as she quickly took a look around and said, "Is this from that inheritance?"

Ye Jun nodded, "As you can guess, I have better options, so I planned to give this to the sect. Otherwise, I’ll have to do many missions and the like to get facilities and resources."

"I’ll be honest with you," Han Yuexin said. "A vassal sect needs cultivation manuals of this rank. Actually, any cultivation manual of Profound Rank and above is valuable to us."

Ye Jun could guess the reason. Not every cultivation manual suited someone. There were always ones that suited them more, so a variety of cultivation manuals meant the sect could train more and better disciples.

"I can’t tell you the exact contribution points you’ll get for this. But they’ll be a lot," Han Yuexin replied honestly. "You should later visit the Administration Hall and show them this."

She handed over a purple jade stone to him and continued, "They will know I sent you and introduce you to the Hall Masters. Show the cultivation manual only to her, no one else. It’s my request."

"Thank you for this," Ye Jun said, taking the jade stone. "I’m grateful."

"Is there anything else you want to give?" Han Yuexin asked.

"Hmm. It’ll depend on how many contribution points I get for the cultivation manual," Ye Jun smiled slyly.

"You scheming brat!" Han Yuexin chuckled and said. "I really like you. Go ahead. I’m looking forward to more entertainment from you."
