Saving the Heartthrob Frenemy-Chapter 126: Leong Jinn’s nefarious plan
After saying this he hung up the call and continued typing in a string of code. Over the years his hatred and resentment towards GameX, Qie Ranzhe in particular had festered and was slowly reaching breaking point.
It was true that he was arrested for trying to steal data from Wen Qinxi’s project but that wasn’t the entire truth.
Wen Qinxi became his idol ever since he announced the innovative game at a press conference. From the moment he met him at a convention, he knew he wanted to work with him and make the impossible possible. At the end of the convention, he squeezed through the crowd and asked Wen Qinxi for an autograph.
Wen Qinxi was very nice to him, asking him what speciality he was interested in while signing on his arm because Leong Jinn had nothing Wen Qinxi could write on.
They seemed to be vibing well at least in Leong Jinn’s mind. That was the first time Qie Ranzhe interrupted him. Qie Ranzhe called Wen Qinxi and Leong Jinn actually witnessed his idol running over to Qie Ranzhe like a puppy almost wagging his tail.
After that incident, Leong Jinn’s strange obsession sprouted. He had turned from a regular fan to an obsessed fanatic after having a taste of how it felt to be close to his idol.
Leong Jinn glanced at the arm where the autograph had been signed and he suddenly wanted to keep this forever.
He took his grandma’s money without her permission and went to the nearest tattoo parlour that was open to get that autograph traced and tattooed on his arm.
After that day, he worked harder than before. It was no longer about hacking into banks to steal money or robbing cyber currency for the fun of it.
He was really serious about his career and a few years later, his dream came true. He could finally work with Wen Qinxi like he wanted.
He loved it when Wen Qinxi gave him all his attention and the more they worked together the more greedy he became. He couldn’t stand it when Qie Xieling ran around calling dad this dad that while they were supposed to work or when Qie Ranzhe would come and get Wen Qinxi while they were busy.
His resentment grew even more and he was starting to have a hard time controlling it. He wanted to get Wen Qinxi’s full attention and in his mind, the only way he could do that was by improving Wen Qinxi’s game and making it more exciting for players.
Because he didn’t have full access to Wen Qinxi’s files he decided to use Qie Xieling to gain access to the confidential material. Unfortunately, his plan was foiled before it could even take root. He didn’t even explain himself and Qie Ranzhe didn’t give him a chance to either.
He was arrested and charged. This was when the Lee family stepped in. Lee Bigan took an interest in his project at university and was willing to use his wife’s family connections to get him out of prison on good behaviour despite not even serving his sentence.
Leong Jinn finally had an opportunity to bring his idea to life and get Wen Qinxi’s attention. He worked on his masterpiece and endured little spoilt Princess Lee Ya’s abuse for years. She would treat him like a servant who was supposed to be at her back and call.
He would drive her sometimes and like an assistant he would go get her things at her command. He brought this up with Mr Lee but he shut him down saying she is just a child and he would pay him extra. He should just indulge her.
For his work, he endured a lot of humiliation. He could bear with it for a very long time, well, that is until the project was suddenly shut down.
Around the time Luo Muchen and Luo Shih left, Lee Bigen called him and told him that it was off. The military wasn’t interested in funding the project anymore.
Their reason was that it wasn’t something that would be useful to them hence he was supposed to submit everything related to this project.
Leong Jinn was livid and all that anger that he had been restraining finally erupted. He was so angry that he tried to attack Lee Bigen but he was restrained and threatened.
If he didn’t want to end up in prison he should take what he was given and move on. Leong Jinn calmed himself down and walked out of the Lee building handing over everything he had. At least that’s what his boss thought.
For the past few years, he had been cooked up in his private bunker plotting his revenge. He planned on bringing his masterpiece to light in a grandiose manner.
Lee Bigen used him and treated him like trash so he would take both his children and make them the first test subjects for his sick and twisted game. Not only the Lee half-siblings, but he also wanted to get his hands on Qie Xieling and his loyal follower.
Whether they survived this or not had nothing to do with him. After preparing for this for so long, the final piece of the puzzle was now in place and he had to act fast before the Qie couple and Luo Shih came back into the country.
His fingers stopped moving and he glanced up. He was sitting in a chair, hunched over a computer, with a calculating look in his eyes.
The bunker was dimly lit, with only a few flickering lights illuminating the room. At the centre of the room stood a row of gaming capsules, their flashing lights casting an eerie glow.
As he stared at the capsules, Leong Jinn’s mind raced with endless possibilities. He could see the four people trapped inside, their consciousness slowly being consumed by the games that he had created. He relished the thought of their minds becoming nothing more than players in his twisted game. Soon he snapped out of it recognising that he was on a time crunch.
He began to type furiously on his keyboard, coding the gaming program. As his fingers flew over the keys, he cackled with delight, relishing in his own power.
When the program was complete, Leong Jinn leaned back in his chair, a smirk playing on his lips. He knew that he was one step closer to achieving his ultimate goal. With a wave of his hand, he activated the program, and a holographic map appeared on his computer screen.
