Reincarnated Jester: Taming Players-Chapter 130: Wedding
Chapter 130: Wedding
"That Fuc... that guy was ill?" Jung started and changed the words mid-sentence.
He had no idea why, but cursing in front of Elara rubbed him the wrong way.
Noticing his hesitation, her eyes sparkled in colors.
But she didn’t lose track of the conversation and said after a short pause.
"He had the same illness. But by the time he cured himself, it was already too late. He was dying, slowly and painfully, and the ruler hated every second of it. Yet he was too proud to kill himself and leave his legacy."
"Our impression of him doesn’t match," Jung said.
Elara nodded.
"I know. He was a prick, sometimes even hateful. But I don’t hate him. It’s not like it was his fault what was happening, and everything he made me do was for my sake."
’Are we talking about the same guy?’ he mused.
"You know he tried to assassinate me, right?" Jung asked.
"You are more gullible and dumb than I thought," Elara said, chuckling. "You are still here. Alive. I doubt he really wanted to kill you."
"But the—" he was about to retort when she stopped him.
"He was a weird dude, I can admit that much, but I can also vouch for his character. If he did something against you, it was either to motivate you, to blackmail me by proving that you were in his clutches, or to tease you. He was a ruler, after all."
Jung listened carefully, trying to change his first impression of the guy Elara was describing.
However, there was one more instance.
It was about Nero and her people.
The ruler god kidnapped them like a tyrant, destroying the cat empire in the process and causing long-lasting grief for Nero.
No world existed for Jung to forgive that.
Elara fidgeted upon hearing his heated declaration.
She was searching for words.
"Why are you trying to defend him so much?" he asked, surprised by her reactions.
"I don’t know. Maybe because he was pitiful or because I had to kill him," she said, still thinking.
Snowshade believed something else.
The academy teacher thought that she and Ophelia had fought and defeated her captor.
’She probably altered her mind,’ Jung guessed, eyeing his sister.
"Enough about him. Maybe he was the bad guy in the past, but after finding out that he was dying, he had a change of heart," he said, offering his sister a fairytale-like explanation.
She genuinely respected the ruler god, and the fact that she inherited his name by killing him left some kind of scar on her.
"You are a god now or what?" he asked.
"Yep," she answered. "I am the youngest and cutest god, by the way."
"And I am the proudest and happiest brother in the world. The things you experienced weren’t easy to deal with. Not only do you prevail by yourself, but you are here, in our home, stronger than ever. You did well!" he said, patting her head lovingly.
"I missed you," Elara said like a child.
The coldness she was described with by her teachers and classmates was nowhere to be found.
"I missed you even more. You don’t have to be afraid. Neither of us is leaving."
He sounded confident, giving Elara the peace she needed.
"Can you tell me about her?" she asked about Nira. "I know you guys aren’t from Maskera."
Jung had a hunch she might have known, but seeing that she wasn’t affected lifted so much weight off his shoulders.
"She...she is great. We have some unexplainable connections. Every second is fun when I am with her. Nira makes me better, and she is definitely more than that, but she is someone important, and I would like for you to get along with her."
He said, stumbling with his words.
Elara listened carefully.
"Sounds fun. No offense, but I have always wanted a sister, and she looks like a fun person. I am happy for you, brother."
Then the conversation went on for a couple of minutes, covering various topics as Jung tried to reconnect with her.
It was weird seeing her after all this time—when she was grown up, but thankfully, it wasn’t awkward or anything.
Soon enough, Nira and the parents came back, chatting cheerfully.
She did a pretty good job entertaining them, and it seemed like they liked her as well.
Nira sat next to him and whispered, "Did you have a nice talk?"
"Thanks to you," Jung smiled.
"I want to play with big sis as well," Elara said out of nowhere, standing from her seat and dragging Nira out of the home.
The latter smirked and went along with the flow, leaving Jung with his parents.
"Is she okay?" Lisa asked, watching the girls’ departure.
"She was...lonely," he said, hiding the horrors she had experienced. "But she is happy to be back. Everything is good now. She is strong, even stronger than me."
Lisa and Baki lowered their eyes.
"What about you?" Baki asked.
"Me? I am doing great. I wasn’t expecting to have a wedding, but honestly, it doesn’t sound so bad," Jung said excitedly.
It was Lisa’s turn to observe him.
"What about the cat you had with you?"
"Oh, that dummy?" he exclaimed. "I have a feeling we might see her soon."
Lisa wasn’t done.
"You didn’t stay in the academy, right? And what’s up with you? How did you get so...strong?"
’Of course, she guessed.’ Jung thought and answered, "You know the apocalypse is coming, right? We have around three days before it starts, and I had to get ready for it. I will tell you everything afterward."
Hearing the news, both Lisa and Baki opened their mouths in surprise.
Everyone in the world knew the second Fracture approached, but actually understanding that it would happen this early wasn’t an easy pill to swallow.
They took some time adapting to the news, and the wedding ceremony started the next day.
It was a hurried process; not much was planned, and only family and friends were invited.
The venue was in Inbox City, near Jung’s home.
He was in a classy yet not-so-formal attire, wearing comfortable but stunning clothes.
As for what Nira chose for her dress, he had no idea about that.
"Well, well, well," said someone from behind, as he was alone in his dressing room.
Everyone else was with Nira, helping her to get ready.
"My brother-in-law looks so good," added Ori, walking towards him.
Sami was beside him as well, smiling with his lips but glaring with his eyes.
The god brothers weren’t alone, bringing other members of their huge family.
Jung greeted everyone, including Lilia, who found time to attend her sister’s wedding.
"I wasn’t expecting two tortoises at my wedding," Jung joked, looking at the brothers.
He also got to know Nira’s other sisters, and they seemed pleasant to talk to.
The entire vibe was very positive, bringing tears of happiness to his face.
When he first reincarnated, in no world would he guess something like this would happen.
It was the most precious and the best outcome he could ever wish for.
The music rang, announcing that the ceremony would begin at a moment’s notice.
Sure enough, Elara appeared, leading Jung and the other guests to the podium.
He saw Snowshade, with two familiar faces, belonging to Mira and Ronan.
It brought him memories before another musical was heard.
Soon, Nira appeared, wearing a wedding dress.
It was outside of her usual attire or vibe, but she had always wanted to try it, as being his bride was her long-lasting dream.
Finally, both of them got married for the second time.
Nothing had changed.
On the contrary, their feelings were deeper, and the love that lasted for centuries would continue forever.
As for Nira and her beauty, it left Jung speechless and frozen.
The only part of his body that moved were his eyes, watching her eagerly and proudly.
She walked down the aisle, approaching him. ƒгeeweɓn૦vel.com
Even she looked nervous.
Only after they locked their eyes did their breathing come to sync.
"We don’t need bullshit questions and ceremonies," Jung announced.
There was no priest to lead the wedding, as Maskera didn’t employ such tradition.
The vows were enough, but he didn’t want to say them.
And as always, Nira matched his desires.
"Can I kiss him now? I can’t wait," she called out, not caring about the chuckles she had caused.
No one could stop them, and they indulged in a passionate yet short kiss.
Nira’s siblings watched with smiles on their faces.
Despite how they acted in front of Jung, they didn’t really dislike him.
Baki was the sole crybaby, embarrassing Lisa and Elara, as they couldn’t stop his sobs.
Then they drank till the next morning, filling the void with songs and dances.
Even Nero showed up after the kiss, jumping between Nira’s and Jung’s shoulders.
She was also in a good mood, and with her glorious comeback, she didn’t antagonize Jung for nothing.
"Congratulations, my friends," she said. "Be happy! Take care of each other and cheer that we won this war."
’What is she talking about?’ Jung thought.
Nero seemed weird.
Nira also noticed her attitude.
It was apparent that the mischievous cat did something important, but had no plans to talk about it.
Even the way she spoke and walked was off as if she were hiding something, but because the situation was too chaotic, he didn’t get the chance to question the cat.
This day was the most joyous occasion for everyone present, allowing them to party for the last time before the huge event started.
Three days later, the predicted Fracture hit the world, but not in the way people, including Jung, had believed.
It all started when the moon changed color once more.

A/N: This is the end.
Of course, this is not the real conclusion I had in mind, nor should it have ended so abruptly.
You might have noticed that I had to quicken the pace after Chapters 80-90 because the novel got no traction whatsoever.
But I didn’t want to abandon it so early and with no endings at all.
So I decided that a bad, rushed conclusion was better than no ending, even for one or two readers I had on this journey.
It was a fun ride.
I wanted it to be at least 800-1000 Chapters and had solid outlines for it.
If there is enough demand, I am considering publishing a few additional Chapters as side stories.
It was a great writing experience for me, and let us meet in the next novel I am currently working on.
Thank you for reading and don’t forget to stay silly!
