Chapter 82: LAZ: Chapter 82

The door creaked open, and his heart did freaking flips.

She was so fucking gorgeous.

And what was she wearing? A T-shirt.

His T-shirt, varsity jacket, and jean shorts.

HIS DAMN CLOTHES!

"Dear God," he whispered, running his hand over his face.

"Damn, shawty, you make breathing hard," he teased, and she chuckled.

He loved it when she was shy. She was like an adorable little kitten.

That’s why he’d bought a cat and named her Frida in his condo back in Vegas. He missed her, and the cat reminded him so much of her.

"Sorry, I haven’t done my laundry, so all my clothes are a mess. Hope I can use yours?" she asked.

She freaking asked.

"God damn," he thought, trying not to sound like the needy man that he was.

He wanted to do a lot.

So much.

So damn much it was killing him.

She had to study.

She had freaking exams.

He did too, but he was already done with his curriculum for the year. They were a bit too slow, and he was far ahead of them.

Advantages of getting your whole curriculum at the beginning of the year. For some reason, people don’t meet up. He couldn’t understand it.

"You’re staring a hole into my eyes, Laz," she winced, and he absolutely couldn’t resist her.

"Not deep enough, apparently." He took her hands—so perfect. A ring would look nice on it, he thought.

"No time to waste. The island is about 30 minutes from here."

He drove them to the private jet waiting in the dimly lit hangar. The city lights twinkled in the background as they boarded. It was deserted, dead at night.

Except for the bright lights of the city, of course. As they boarded, he felt her tense.

"Where’s the pilot?" she asked.

He quickly grabbed her before she could run, tossing her into the seat and strapping her in.

"I am," he said.

"No freaking way are you flying me, Laz!" she said, full-on panicking.

He smirked, getting into the pilot’s seat. "Yes way, Frida. And it’s gonna be fun."

"Holy shit," she whispered as he started the jet.

"Holy shit!" she said louder as the jet proceeded to take off.

"Holy shit!" she screamed as they lifted off into the air, up in the sky above the city.

He laughed so hard seeing her face. He wasn’t dumb enough to drive a jet with no experience.

Okay, well, yes he was, but that was beside the point.

As they flew over the Statue of Liberty, she gasped like she was dreaming.

"Do you love it, baby?"

"You’re a freaking psycho," she huffed with a super bashful look. fгeewёbnoѵel.cσm

"Very much obliged," he said with a rich, deep laugh.

"Where did you learn to freaking fly?" she spat, and he shrugged, controlling the wheels like a video game.

"Took a two-year course, so I’m a natural."

She gave him a fascinated look.

"What? I like learning stuff to impress you."

"You’re amazing," she gushed.

He liked it when she looked at him like that. It made him feel like he was on top of the world.

"I just want to be Spider-Man for you," he teased, and she proceeded to smack his arm.

He made a joke by making the plane dive, and she screamed, "Oh my God, you douche!"

He laughed as they landed on the island. It was about 5 a.m., and the sun was rising in the east ahead.

She was deep asleep. His sunrise.

Just in time to watch his sunrise rise along with the sun.

She stirred and opened her eyes as he landed it.

"Are we there yet?" she said in her sexy, sleepy voice.

"Yeah." His voice was thick with want. Well, it was morning, and he was up, alright.

She looked good enough for him to break his fast.

"Shit, my exam is in five hours," she groaned.

"We’ve got time," he said as they walked across the island.

On his arm, he held a bag. When they reached the path of lavender, he spread it so it was facing the warm lake.

She sighed, watching the sunrise. "It’s beautiful."

He nodded, glancing at her as he spread out a checkered blanket on the flower grass.

"It is alright."

He set out her books on the blanket along with milk, cookies, and apples.

"Get on the blanket," he said, giving her an intense glare.

"Yes, sir," she sighed, playing along and getting on her knees.

He liked it so much he counted to ten so he wouldn’t fuck her right there.

"Books and shit." He cleared his throat, sitting down as she laughed at how much she gagged him.

He didn’t actually need to open her books. He got past questions from previous sets—multiple-choice from all her subjects.

"Are those?" she gasped in shock.

He smirked. "Impressed?"

She blinked, bewildered. "Hell yeah! Are you real? Those are freaking hard to get with how students rush them at the library. And they are limited. How did you—?"

"I know a guy who knows a guy that knows a guy," he said, feeling on top of the world for impressing this woman.

"You won’t tell me," she pouted in a cute cry.

"Nope," he said sternly.

She smiled, her morning face soft.

How can someone be even more beautiful when they wake up?

Because you can’t tell me the sun is prettier than her.

Not in this world. No.

She revealed perfect dentals just for him, and his heart squeezed in delight.

Making this woman happy had to be better than morning coffee, which he served them in cups.

"Well, I’m going to ask you questions, and it’s going to be hard. I will show no mercy," he said seriously.

"Hit me with your best shot," she laughed."What’s the nerve in the arm?" he started simple.

"The median nerve," she shot back.

"The climbing muscle?" he asked.

"Latissimus dorsi," she replied.

"Artery supplying the leg?" he asked.

"Femoral artery," she replied.

"A patient complaining of frequent stooling, vomiting, and fever. What’s your diagnosis?" he asked.

"Gastroenteritis, but confirmation with a test is best," she said.

"A patient is rushed into the hospital bleeding. What’s your first action?"

"Locate the source of the bleeding, apply pressure to stop it, position the patient comfortably, and administer appropriate interventions based on severity," she poured out like water.

"How many joints do we have in the body?" he asked.

"360," she replied confidently.

"What is the sympathetic and parasympathetic response of the male reproductive organ?" he asked, meeting her gaze.

For the first time, she stuttered. "Um... um..."

He smirked but fought back a laugh. "Focus."

"Fuck," she cursed, and he actually laughed now.

Avoiding his gaze, she muttered, "Parasympathetic is for erection; sympathetic is for ejaculation."

---

They continued until it was 9:30 a.m.

"Okay, I think you’re ready," he said.

She smiled, her eyes actually watering. "Laz..."

"No need to thank me," he drawled.

"Not yet," he said, helping her up. "You can thank me after the exam. Now let’s go home."

She was so nervous as they reached her block for the exams. Her palms were sweating, and everyone was staring at Laz, but she wasn’t in the mood for their admiring gazes.

As they reached the door, he gave her hand a light squeeze, turning her to face him. "Babe, relax."

"Look at me."

She blinked up at him.

"You’re good."

She nodded, and as he turned to leave, she couldn’t help herself. She hugged him from behind.

She didn’t miss the whispers of "oohs" around her.

"Thank you."
