A perfect 6IV specimen. You couldn’t ask for better stats than this.
John had anticipated this outcome, but seeing it actually appear before his eyes still filled him with excitement.
Though he’d used his Master Ball on Rayquaza instead of saving it for Mewtwo, it wasn’t like he’d never get another chance. Mewtwo’s scripted event definitely existed somewhere in this world. As long as he could find the city where Mewtwo’s scenario took place...
John vaguely remembered that city was called "Desert City" or something similar, probably located in the Kalos region. He just didn’t know the exact location yet.
After recalling the Pokeball, John exited the "Sky Pillar" dungeon.
There was no completion cutscene or settlement rewards, the Sky Pillar seemed to exist purely as a specialized location for capturing Rayquaza. Nothing more.
Not that it mattered. John didn’t currently need any particular held items for his Pokemon anyway.
The Master Ball containing Shiny Rayquaza materialized in John’s hand.
"Let’s test you out!" John stepped onto his balcony and threw the Master Ball toward the night sky.
The ball opened mid-air, and a massive black dragon immediately appeared above the Island’s skyline!
Its towering body and overwhelming presence radiated pure power.
"RAYQUAZA!" Shiny Rayquaza threw its head back and bellowed toward the sky.
Everyone in Dragoncrest City who hadn’t yet fallen asleep heard that draconic roar echoing across the sky. People rushed to find the source of the sound. The commotion even alerted the city’s Gym Leader.
After all, a roar loud enough for the entire city to hear definitely didn’t come from any ordinary Pokemon.
But when the Gym Leader, Big Brooklyn, searched outside, he naturally found nothing. Because John was already sitting atop Shiny Rayquaza’s head, soaring through the clouds under the moonlight, circling the entire planet at terrifying speeds.
This was the childhood dream John had held since first encountering Rayquaza, flying through the sky on the legendary dragon’s back.
"This is amazing!"
Early the Next Morning
Emerald stood silently watching John, who was still stubbornly refusing to get out of bed. She turned to look at Gardevoir. "What time did he go to sleep last night?"
’Great. He says he needs to go to the World Tournament today, but he decided to stay up all night yesterday?’
But... what could she really do? The person currently lying in bed was her boss, the one who paid her salary. She could only spoil him.
"Is that so?" Emerald gave Gardevoir a surprised look.
Gardevoir waved dismissively, as if to say it was no big deal.
Emerald had never heard of any Pokemon capable of teleporting someone across such vast distances so casually. And moreover... making it look so effortless.
But then again, they’d encountered similar situations so many times before. There was nothing left to be surprised about anymore.
"Well then... I’m going to catch up on sleep too?" Emerald remembered that her agreed meeting time with John for the World Tournament wasn’t until late evening, well past ten o’clock. She could definitely squeeze in some extra sleep.
’I’m not so passionate about work that I’d stay up when I don’t have to...’
Gardevoir made a welcoming gesture.
Emerald happily trotted off to her own room downstairs.
In the courtyard, Gengar dragged Marshadow out through the Distortion World portal.
The moment Marshadow arrived, it couldn’t help but look toward the distant north.
It could sense the aura of Ho-Oh’s guardian beasts!
Although it didn’t know which one specifically, it needed to inform its master immediately.
Marshadow rushed to John’s room, only to find him still sleeping. Just as it was about to wake him, Gardevoir blocked its path.
"Gardevoir," (don’t wake him unless it’s urgent), she warned.
Marshadow’s mouth hung open in hesitation. Was the matter of Ho-Oh’s guardian beasts urgent or not?
If you asked whether it was important... well yes, it was definitely important. After all, these were Ho-Oh’s legendary guardians.
But for a master who could casually capture even Giratina, maybe it wasn’t that critically urgent after all.
Marshadow deflated slightly, deciding to wait until John woke up naturally.
After all, those guardian beasts weren’t going anywhere. They’d still be there when the master was ready.
