Chapter 599: Yeet the Dragon

The gateway to the Distortion World tore open, or more accurately, was forcibly ripped apart. Like a massive beast opening its maw to devour everything, the portal yawned wide. But Mega Rayquaza showed no fear whatsoever, charging directly into it.

The battlefield environment instantly shifted to the Distortion World.

Within the reversed dimension, Gardevoir’s spatial ability had already completed its setup, establishing a warped gravity field that would disorient any opponent.

Falling into the Distortion World was like walking into an elaborate trap!

However, Mega Rayquaza didn’t consider these attacks a serious threat. Even though its speed had been reduced by the distorted space, dodging these attacks was still as easy as flipping its hand. 𝕗𝕣𝐞𝐞𝘄𝐞𝚋𝚗𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗹.𝚌𝕠𝚖

Its singular goal was to defeat the only opponent that posed a genuine threat, Mega Gardevoir, before dealing with anything else!

These other Pokemon weren’t truly trying to attack it directly. Mega Rayquaza understood this immediately. And as a skilled trainer, how could John not know the same?

Neither Supreme Continental Fall, nor the nearly infinite Ultimate Spiral Water Shuriken barrage were launched as direct attacks, they couldn’t match Rayquaza’s speed anyway.

But what if these attacks became ammunition for Mega Gardevoir instead?

"Teleport!" Mega Gardevoir pointed toward the distant Mega Rayquaza.

Two massive meteors from Supreme Continental Crush vanished instantly, then reappeared directly in Mega Rayquaza’s path.

With Mega Rayquaza’s speed, by the time it registered the enormous meteors appearing, there was no time to dodge.

WHAM!

BOOM!

The massive meteors exploded from the center.

This wasn’t because Mega Rayquaza had crashed through them. Rather, it was a new technique John’s Tyranitar and Aggron had recently developed, Rock Blast.

Blue’s Rhyperior had given John the inspiration.

Simple rock compression wasn’t the full extent of Rock-type attacks. Rocks could also explode!

When Mega Rayquaza burst through the dual meteor explosions, its speed had clearly dropped more than a full tier. The radiant light emanating from its body dimmed considerably.

The attack was effective!

But it wasn’t over yet!

Next came the psychic assault from Metagross working in tandem with the Z-Move’s residual energy.

Meteors continued raining down from the aftermath of Supreme Continental Crush, each one massive enough to devastate a city block. Rayquaza charged directly through them with Dragon Ascent.

CRASH!

BOOM!

CRASH!!!

Meteor impacts and explosions filled the Distortion World! The sheer spectacle was blinding in its intensity.

When Mega Rayquaza burst through the meteor storm, what greeted it was an ocean of gold.

Over a hundred Greninja clones launching attacks simultaneously would throw over a hundred Ultimate Spiral Water Shuriken. But what if they performed continuous multi-wave attacks?

What now appeared before Mega Rayquaza was over a thousand of thse attacks!

BOOM!!!

The terrifying explosions merged into a continuous roar, like New Year’s fireworks, except magnified a hundred times and far more concentrated.

Such horrific sounds shook the entire Distortion World, making it tremble.

Mega Rayquaza’s offensive momentum was as fast as lightning. All Mega Gardevoir could do was continuously use Teleport, repositioning all the "ammunition" prepared by its teammates directly in front of itself, and by extension, in Mega Rayquaza’s path.

Mega Rayquaza kept getting hit not because it failed to dodge, but because its attack momentum and speed were simply too fast!

There was no way to avoid them.

"Alright, let’s use our ultimate technique one more time!" John commanded loudly. "Queen Grasp!"

While Mega Gardevoir had been using her teammates’ attacks to intercept Mega Rayquaza, John hadn’t been idle. He’d opened his Gameboy inventory and fed Gardevoir potion.

Full Restores, PP recovery items, every restoration medicine in his bag was pumped directly into Mega Gardevoir.

All to restore Gardevoir to full capacity so it could unleash Queen’s Grasp one more time, delivering the finishing blow to Mega Rayquaza.

Having barely escaped the Ultimate Spiral Water Shuriken bombardment zone, Mega Rayquaza immediately froze in midair. Space and time on both sides began condensing and freezing once again.

Within the spatial rift, two massive hands quietly extended, slowly closing with an unhurried, inevitable grace. Mega Rayquaza’s body trembled and twisted within that grip, until finally,

BOOM!

The explosion echoed throughout the entire Distortion World.

As the reversed side of reality, the Distortion World’s spatial fabric apparently wasn’t as sturdy as the normal world.

A massive hole was immediately torn open, making Giratina’s eyelids twitch nervously.

When the two massive hands slowly dissipated and the explosive smoke cleared, a single figure fell from the sky.

It was Rayquaza, no longer in its Mega form. Or perhaps more accurately described using terms like Groudon and Kyogre’s "Primal Reversion," it had returned to its previous state.

Because John knew this power would soon become his.

He pulled out a Pokeball from his Gameboy inventory, one he’d prepared long ago. This time, John used a Master Ball.

Originally, he’d been saving it for Mewtwo.

But who could have predicted that Shiny Rayquaza would appear before him first?

One second later, the Master Ball teleported directly in front of Rayquaza, made contact, transformed into red light, and captured the legendary dragon inside.
