Only I Cultivate-Chapter 26: Thick Face
Chapter 26: Thick Face
After dealing with one opponent, two more ghost slaves rushed at Feng Fan, trying to flank him from both sides. The last one, wielding a chair, charged toward Wu Yunru.
Feng Fan sidestepped, dodging two wild punches. But the ghost slaves were relentless, throwing themselves at him the moment they missed, ignoring their own safety.
Their speed forced Feng Fan to drop low, rolling to evade their grasp. As he tumbled, the two ghost slaves collided, crashing to the ground from the impact.
Feng Fan stood up faster than them. The ghost slaves struggled to rise, but he didn't give them the chance.
Black flames surged around his right leg as he launched a devastating kick at one of them just as it was rising to its feet. The sheer force sent its head flying across the room, kissing the wall with a crunch; Its headless body collapsed onto the ground
At that moment, the other ghost slave lunged. Feng Fan couldn't dodge in time, and the creature wrapped around him like a constricting serpent—its legs locked around his waist, arms binding his chest and arms.
The ghost slave snarled like a beast and snapped its jaws at his throat. But before its teeth could sink in, Feng Fan summoned a chain around his neck, shattering its teeth on impact.
Undeterred, the ghost slave bared its broken teeth, preparing another bite.
Feng Fan smirked. Black flames flickered to life around his forehead. With a brutal headbutt, he crushed the creature's nose. The ghost slave's body jerked before going limp, its grip loosening as it slumped lifelessly at his feet.
Feng Fan rubbed his forehead. 'That one had a thick face, that's for sure.'
He glanced around and saw Wu Yunru finishing off the last ghost slave.
Luo Li stood nearby, staring at Feng Fan with shock written all over her face. "Feng Fan, you... you have two abilities?"
Feng Fan let out a bitter smile. As Hunters grew stronger, it was possible to acquire more than one ability or curse, but most only had one, that grew stronger with them.
An F-rank Hunter with multiple abilities, though? That was unheard of.
"Yeah... I somehow awakened a second ability after the fight with that other ghost. I'm not sure how it happened."

Luo Li's expression gradually returned to normal. "We'll figure it out later. For now, let's keep moving."
Luo Li's gaze turned icy as her glance changed from Feng Fan to Wu Yunru. "Wu Yunru, take the lead. Let's put your ability to some real use."
Wu Yunru's face paled. "T-This is inhumane! You guys always shove me to the front!"
This was the second time in a row Wu Yunru was told to go to the front, risking his life. But what else could they do? His luck worked like a charm!
Feng Fan walked up and gave him two firm slaps on the shoulder. "Don't worry, Brother Yu. We've got your back."
Wu Yunru rolled his eyes, 'I would die before believing in your words!'
Despite his complaints, he still obeyed. Luo Li was the leader and the most experienced among them. If she told him to go, it was for a reason—and following her lead was their best shot at making it out alive.
He stepped forward and pushed open the nearest door.
To their luck, there was someone inside—and not just anyone, but another Hunter!
Luo Li's eyes lit up. "Shao Xiaowen, you're here!"
Shao Xiaowen looked up in mild surprise. "Uh, Luo Li? What's up?"
Shao Xiaowen seemed clueless; he hadn't even realized he was inside a ghost zone. This was likely due to multiple reasons: unlike Ma Chen's ghost zone, this one didn't turn day into night, and the room he was in was soundproof as long as the door remained closed.
Luo Li's expression hardened as she quickly explained the situation. "The whole hospital turned into a ghost zone. Because the ghost here can turn people into ghost slaves, we must hurry. Do you know if there are other Hunters around?"
"Ghost slaves?!" Shao Xiaowen's face darkened. "Yeah, my partner came with me. He's not far, let's go get him."
Luo Li nodded. Shao Xiaowen and his partner, Ren Fang, were both D-rank Hunters, just one level below her. If they were only slightly injured, their presence would still boost their chances of survival.
Shao Xiaowen threw off the bedsheets, revealing his left arm in a cast. Fortunately, it was just his arm. If it were a leg, it would have slowed them down. Currently, he could still fight and move fast enough.
"Ren Fang is in room 302, just below mine," he said. "His injuries were more life-threatening than mine, but it's been almost a week since we got here. He should be more or less healed by now."
The group let out a collective sigh of relief. If Ren Fang had been too injured, he wouldn't have been able to fight anyway.
Feng Fan grinned at Wu Yunru. "Bro, you really are our lucky charm!"
"Hmph." Wu Yunru didn't bother responding. Instead, he led the way as they rushed down the stairs.
They reached Ren Fang's room in no time. Wu Yunru pushed the door open, only to be met with a metal spike hurtling straight for his head!
Instinct took over. He raised his arms in a desperate attempt to block the projectile, but it would have been useless.
Fortunately, Luo Li was always alert. The moment the metal spike flew toward him, she reacted instantly, surrounding him with her barrier.
The metal spike clattered to the ground. Wu Yunru let out a shaky breath. "Thanks, Luo Li!"
But Luo Li wasn't relieved. Her expression remained cold as her sharp gaze locked onto the figure inside the room.
Ren Fang...
He had turned into a ghost slave!
"No... Ren Fang!" Shao Xiaowen's voice trembled with grief as he stared at his partner, now nothing more than a soul trapped in his own body.
He and Ren Fang had been working together for two years. They weren't just partners; they were close friends who always had each other's backs.
When ordinary people became ghost slaves, they were usually only at the level of an apparition. But when a Hunter was turned... their strength remained intact, sometimes he even grew stronger.
That meant the creature standing before them wasn't just any ghost slave—it was at least as strong as a Fierce Ghost!
