One Piece: Capitalist Brook's Crew Expansion Plan-Chapter 50: The Golden Ship Sets Sail
Chapter 50 - 50: The Golden Ship Sets Sail
With the entire Sky Nation working on the shipbuilding project, the Golden Ship was constructed at an astonishing speed. Once the lightning storage containers from Birkka were installed, the powerful hum of machinery echoed through the air.
Nearly a thousand Jet Dials lined the sides of the Golden Ship, boosting its propulsion. Redfield personally recharged over a hundred Thunder Dials connected to the lightning storage system—nearly the entire stockpile of Sky Nation's Air Dials.
As the Fish-Man shipwright Tom pressed the launch button, the massive propeller wings spun rapidly. Before everyone's eyes, the Golden Ship lifted off successfully.
Brook was overwhelmed with excitement. It was hard to believe that such advanced technology in this world could actually make a massive battleship fly.
"Captain Brook! With the power stored in the lightning containers and 120 Thunder Dials, even without Redfield's recharging, the ship can stay airborne for at least half a month!"
That was even accounting for significant energy loss. If they had access to Lunarian technology, the flight duration could likely be extended further. After all, if Lunarians could travel from the distant moon to the Sky Islands, a mere month's worth of energy storage wouldn't be enough for such a journey.
The Golden Ship was illuminated brightly, with Sky Island Light Dials installed everywhere. Cooking appliances were powered by Heat Dials and Flame Dials, while the bathing systems used Water Dials.
Brook noticed the numerous Sound Dials scattered around. Every crew member seemed eager to have him record songs so they could listen to his music in their rooms. It made him chuckle—had they forgotten he was once a renowned musician?
Perhaps it was time for him to return to his roots and compose some hit songs. Or maybe he could just steal a few classics from Earth—something emotional, something thrilling, something epic...
Meanwhile, Shakky had spent time with the old meteorologists of Weatheria, learning advanced navigation techniques for the Grand Line and the New World. She had even mastered the use of Wind Nodes.
Her greatest offense, however, was acquiring several Weather Ships and placing them aboard the Golden Ship. These were Weatheria's crucial transport vessels, used for traveling to the Blue Sea for supplies and intelligence gathering.
The Weather Ships were equipped with machines capable of generating various weather phenomena—strong winds, heavy rain, and even thunderstorms—doubling as defensive weapons.
As for the Golden Ship's main cannon, it was designed through the combined efforts of the sharpshooter Silva and Fish-Man shipwright Tom, incorporating principles from the ancient weapon, Pluton.
Unlike Shiki's airborne pirate fleet, which was highly susceptible to wind conditions, the Golden Ship boasted both a lightning-powered propulsion system and Jet Dial thrusters. However, in extreme weather conditions, it would still need to descend to sea level for safety.
Shiki's Float-Float Fruit ability could only keep his ships suspended in the air; they still required wind to propel forward, as the side-mounted paddles provided minimal assistance. That's why his flying fleet was particularly vulnerable to stormy weather.
...
With the new ship completed, it was time for a grand celebration and a proper naming ceremony. The old "Yellow Springs" had been dismantled for parts, and the crew agreed that the name didn't suit the Golden Ship's grandeur.
Besides, new ships rarely inherited the names of their predecessors—just like how the Straw Hats went from the Going Merry to the Thousand Sunny.
Brook made the decision: the ship would be called The Golden Ark. Wherever the Golden Ark sailed, its enemies would wail in despair.
"One day, the Golden Ark will surpass even the ancient weapons—Uranus, Pluton, and Poseidon!"
"Congratulations on the completion of the Golden Ship—The Golden Ark! Cheers!"
"I don't get the name, but if the captain says so, then so be it!"
Earlier, Shakky had suggested naming it Golden Rose, only to be met with unanimous rejection, leaving her slightly disgruntled.
During the feast, Brook entrusted Minister of Civil Affairs Gan Fall and Minister of War Wadiqa with the protection of the Golden Capital. He also instructed Mortomas not to bring new recruits to Sky Island recklessly.
Each recruit had to undergo strict screening, and only after Redfield's personal verification could they officially join Sky Nation's World Economy News Agency. Otherwise, they would be restricted to the Island branch.
Brook cradled the one-year-old Morgans, showing his affection. He was surprised to learn that Mortomas had already fed him a Devil Fruit. No wonder the little one had started developing traits of an Albatross Zoan—so that's why the future Morgans would be so fond of his beast form. He hadn't even learned to fly yet!
Brook also acquired a Weather Ship from Weatheria and left it for Mortomas. He could use it to travel between Jaya Island and Sky Island for supplies.
After all, most of Sky Island's Air Dials had been confiscated by Brook's crew. For the next year, production might slow down slightly, but with Sky Island's vast wealth of gold, they could easily trade for resources at Jaya Island.
...
Time passed quickly. The Hell Pirates had finished their preparations. They were ready to set sail for the New World—to welcome future powerhouses into their ranks.
With Mortomas' World Economy News Agency, they now held the ultimate advantage—information. Every rising name in the pirate world was under their watch.
And the moment an opportunity arose, Brook would personally set out to recruit them. Especially monsters like Kaido.
"I can't believe it! A Golden Ship—this is the pirate ship of my dreams!"
Shakky stood at the helm, pushing the Fish-Man helmsman Tom aside. She insisted on being the first to steer the Golden Ship.
"Hell Pirates—Set sail!"
She shouted with excitement. Tom sighed and shook his head before pressing the ignition button. Redfield casually recharged the Thunder Dials with a bolt of electricity.
The countless Jet Dials propelled the Golden Ark into the sky. The propeller wings spun furiously, pushing the ship forward—toward the New World.
Shakky pulled out Weatheria's advanced weather forecasting device, constantly monitoring the unpredictable climate of the Grand Line.
"Captain Brook, are we heading to the Sabaody Archipelago next? Are we planning to visit Fish-Man Island? I thought we'd just cross the Red Line directly."
Shakky seemed delighted. Sabaody was her hometown—she had lived there for over a decade. Returning in style aboard a Golden Ship felt like the ultimate triumph.
"Captain Brook, aren't you worried that this Golden Ship will attract too much attention?"
Intelligence officer Antonio voiced his concerns. "This thing is bound to draw greedy eyes from other pirate crews."
"Any fool who dares covet the Golden Ark... will be obliterated by my thunder!"
Redfield clenched his fist, electricity crackling ominously around him. The sharp crack of lightning sent shivers down Antonio's spine, easing his worries.
Brook was strong. Redfield was just as formidable. Silva and the rest of the crew were all powerful in their own right. freewёbnoνel.com
Antonio clenched his fists, filled with hope for the future. His job now was to gather intel on every island ahead and ensure the Den Den Mushi network kept them updated on everything in their path.
