New World with Four Husbands-Chapter 631: Addition to the family
"I want to clear this up as soon as possible." Coco stated, unintentionally cutting off Heiren from continuing his question.
"Clear up what exactly?" Quizen asked, eyeing the way Coco approached Kairo like he was some scared animal in an alleyway due to how slow and careful she was with her footsteps.
"Clear up whatever misunderstanding we all have." Coco clarified, stopping in front of Kairo and staring at him.
The hybrid blinked, his eyes shifting away from Coco to look at the mediators. He shot them a puzzled look, silently asking them for help and an explanation as to what Coco was trying to do, but no one moved away from their spot.
"What misunderstanding are you talking about, Coco?" Alhai decided to ask the important question instead, averting his gaze from Kairo.
Coco grabbed Kairo’s wrist, earning a flinch from him, and dragged him to the table.
"About Kairo joining our family." Coco stated, her voice calm and steady despite the pounding heartbeat in her ears.
She knows that she was the one who decided to approach the five of them like this, right after dinner at that, but it has been on her mind throughout the entire delicious meal.
She tried to focus on her food. She truly did, but it kept popping up no matter how hard she tried.
Once the two of them reached the table, Coco pulled a chair out.
"Let’s just get this out of the way first before I start tweaking, okay?" Coco said, her eyebrows creasing as she forced Kairo to take a seat on the chair she just pulled.
"Tweaking?" Alhai repeated, blinking.
"Uh, it means acting crazy, irrational, paranoid, or "tripping" over something small." Coco explained and turned to the third husband. "It’s frequently used in my world to describe someone overthinking, worrying excessively, or generally being out of line about something."
"I didn’t know the word could have another meaning." Alhai mumbled, a look of amazement crossing his features.
"Well, it was a slang often used in my generation so.." Coco slowly trailed off and forced her attention back to Kairo. "Anyway, that’s not what I’m trying to explain or address."
"We’re listening." Zaque assured Coco, smiling softly. "You can start. We don’t want you worrying about anything regarding Kairo joining our family."
"I agree." Quizen perked up from his spot behind the first husband. "If this is about Kairo becoming your husband, then we certainly don’t have any problem with it."
Coco’s lips formed a line, her eyebrows furrowed in concern.
Seeing her expression, Alhai let out a loud sigh to catch her attention and shook his head. "I was the one who asked them what they think about Kairo and they gave me positive feedback, so what’s there to worry about, wife?"
"I’m worried about the thought of four of you faking it just because I love Kairo." Coco mumbled, making the hybrid tense in his seat. "I love all of you. Do all of you know that?"
Coco loves me? He couldn’t help, but smile at the thought, purple eyes softening as he stared at his hands.
"I know." Zaque was the first to answer, beating Heiren who already had his mouth open. "And I love you, Coco. I felt it first before I heard it from you, but I was really happy when you finally told me that you love me."
"Same here." The fourth husband spoke up, stepping out of his spot from Zaque’s back. "I love you, Coco." 𝘧𝓇ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝘣𝓃ℴ𝓋𝑒𝑙.𝑐𝘰𝑚
Coco’s heart fluttered, her cheeks reddening at the words Quizen had uttered.
"I know and feel it from the way you take care of me, so I’m not really against the thought of you marrying another mediator." He added quickly, the corner of his lips twitching into a small smile. "I’m sure that you won’t play favorites.. I mean, you kissed me and Zaque because you kissed Alhai and Heiren earlier, right?"
Coco could only nod her head and she wasn’t even given a second to answer because Heiren was already speaking.
"Not only that, you were quite adamant on pushing Kairo away because you didn’t want to hurt us." The brown haired mediator chuckled, his eyes glinting with delight. "I think that says a lot about what you feel about us."
"Heiren’s right." Alhai backed up his friend’s statement with a nod of his own. "Words aren’t exactly your strongest suit, hm?"
"I think the opposite." Kairo decided to voice his own thoughts, making the mediators raise an eyebrow at his direction, so he quickly uttered out an explanation.
"Coco is firm with what she wants and needs." Kairo stated softly, his eyes shifting down to the table. "I haven’t stayed that long in the house, but I could at least tell that when Coco says something.. Most of the time, she means it."
The four mediators blinked and shared glances, each of them housing a look of happiness.
"Keyword, most of the time." Alhai retorted with a smirk. "The other times, she’s just lying about what she truly feels which will either end up with her overworking herself or being out of it."
"Kairo is right though." Heiren huffed out, shooting a playful glare at Alhai’s way. "When Coco says something, it means she means it."
"But there are times that she lies about it, no?" The silver haired mediator argued back, crossing his arms over his chest and raised an eyebrow at Heiren. "Tell me if I’m right or right."
"Or." Heiren grumbled, rolling his eyes.
"Okay, that’s enough." Coco sighed and pressed her fingers onto her temples. "We’re straying away from the matter at hand."
"The matter at hand is about Kairo joining the family, right?" Zaque asked, turning his head to look at Coco instead. "If it’s about that, then you already know what I think."
"Yes.. But what about the others?" Coco mumbled, frowning as she looked at the other three mediators.
Quizen shrugged, Heiren huffed, and Alhai turned away.
