My Perfect Female CEO-Chapter 996: It’s All That Bastard Terminator’s Fault
Ye Fan and Nami sat down, not paying much attention to Kasam’s panicked loss of composure.
Nami stood to one side, looking at Kasam’s actions with disdain.
Kasam was terrified, shaking violently, the hundred-plus pounds of flesh on the ground trembling nonstop.
How could he not be scared? The fighter jet squadron had conducted a devastating bombing of Wild Alliance Headquarters. How could one not die in such a situation? Kasam instinctively believed that the ghosts of Ye Fan, Nami, and Ku Eryue had come to find him.
Kasam curled up on the ground, trembling, covering his head with both hands, eyes closed and crouched on the floor, his ears tightly covered by his arms, trying his best not to look or listen, fearing for his life.
"If you do nothing wrong in life, don’t fear ghosts knocking at night," Ye Fan said coolly, his face cold.
"A guilty conscience needs no accuser," Nami remarked.
"Hey, get up." Ku Eryue stepped forward and kicked Kasam.
"I won’t get up; I’m not getting up. I’m not afraid of ghosts. Don’t haunt me, or else I’ll get a monk to exorcise you. Just go; the paths of humans and ghosts don’t cross, so don’t harm me," Kasam said in growing dread, bending his legs and curling up as tightly as possible.
"Let him lie there for a while. We’ll patiently watch and wait," Ye Fan said coolly.
The room fell into dead silence for a while, not a sound to be heard.
One minute, two minutes...five minutes.
After six minutes, Kasam tilted his head and peeked through his arms to check the situation, saw three pairs of feet and shadows, and slowly realized something was off. The room was brightly lit, so it couldn’t be ghosts.
"Right, it definitely isn’t ghosts; ghosts are afraid of lights and have no shadows," Kasam gradually came to his senses, his mind cluttered, yet finding some useful information amid the chaos, he murmured weakly, "Mr. Ye, they aren’t dead? Right, they must not be dead."
Realizing this, Kasam slowly got up, then stood with a bowed waist, cautiously asking, "Mr. Ye, you’re not dead?"
"Not dead, sorry to disappoint you," Ye Fan said coolly.
Kasam’s legs shook, his face turned pale, and he instinctively placed his buttocks on the sofa, then quickly stood up again, anxiously seeking approval, "Mr. Ye, may I sit down?"
"This is your home; sit if you want to. Why ask me?" Ye Fan’s tone was icy.
"Kasam, do you need a diaper?" Ye Fan said indifferently.
"No need, no need," Kasam responded, head lowered in great shame, and hurriedly changed the topic, "Mr. Ye, Nami, Miss Ku Eryue, it’s great you’re all okay?"
"Okay? I’m afraid not. Having failed to kill us, your end won’t be good. Can you imagine that?" Ye Fan’s voice was cold and indifferent, showing no trace of goodwill towards Kasam anymore.
"Mr. Ye, I’m sorry to you. I’m not human, Nami, I’m sorry to you too, and also to Miss Ku Eryue. It’s entirely my fault, I made a stupid mistake." Kasam knew Mr. Ye was clever; any cunning would be courting death. Hence, he laid everything bare and hurriedly explained.
"But I have my difficulties, too. Actually, I’m a member of the God Organization. About twenty years ago, I was noticed by the God Organization and then supported to eliminate rivals until I became the head of Ba Country."
"Since the Terminator destroyed the top ranks of God Organization, I shook off God Organization’s control."
"I never expected at this time the ghosts of God Organization would emerge, threatening my family’s life to make me obey orders. I had no choice but to compromise."
"Mr. Ye, as you know, if it wasn’t for the inhumane threats of the ghosts, how could I disregard your help to Ba Country and do such insane things? You’re a great benefactor to Ba Country. Even if I were ten times braver, I wouldn’t dare harm you. It was truly the ghosts threatening me to do this, I had no choice," Kasam pitifully portrayed himself as innocent, explaining with no reservations.
Of course, his "no reservations" was selective, not mentioning his cowardice, lust for power, and the prestige of being the head of state.
Kasam naturally didn’t know Ye Fan was the Terminator. If he did, he wouldn’t have entertained any insidious thoughts and would be wholeheartedly on Mr. Ye’s side, not daring to act recklessly under ghost threats.
"So, God Organization had a hand in this," Ye Fan thought to himself. He was aware of God Organization’s vast influence but was slightly surprised to find their latent power right under his nose without knowing it.
"God Organization? The once pinnacle existence ruling the Underworld?" Nami was shocked and then changed his tone to scold, "Kasam, you’re unworthy of being the head of state; Ba Country is a sovereign state, yet your despicable and shameless actions turned it into a puppet state. You’re a historical criminal deserving death a thousand times. I admit you’ve done many good things for Ba Country’s people, but by any means necessary, you ascended the throne of Ba Country’s head of state; this is your unforgivable sin."
"Yes, yes, I should die, indeed, I should die. But that was all in the past. Who could have thought God Organization would seek me out now? It’s also that bastard Terminator’s fault. Had he eradicated all the top ranks of God Organization, God wouldn’t have resurged. I wouldn’t have been under its control again. Pitifully, the Terminator failed to eliminate a key figure who forged God Organization’s glory. I’m wrong, but I’m helpless too," Kasam defended himself, even blaming the Terminator.
Ye Fan was an innocent bystander hit by stray bullets, unable to suppress a strange expression.
"Your incompetence and betrayal caused this mess, and yet you dare drag the Terminator into this. How dare you!" Ku Eryue’s fierce gaze locked onto Kasam.
"I’ve heard of the Terminator’s great name and legend. Yet, you, a despicable puppet head of state, dare mention the Terminator’s name," Nami, unaware Ye Fan was the Terminator, was filled with anger at Kasam’s baseless accusations.
