My Goddess is Good at Pretending-Chapter 735: We’ll Soon Depart
It hadn't even been four hours, and almost half the participants got wiped out on their first expedition. Most of them overestimated themselves greatly, underestimating the threat possessed by the corrupted monsters.
Fortunately, Elysia saved them in a tink of time. She teleported them to the revival chamber, counting it as their death. She slowly healed them in the name of cooldown.
"Heh, you got killed faster than me." Lucius, the recent rising star in the magic department, mocked the ever-arrogant spearmaster who often taunted him recently.
"I'm just a little careless." Bai Yuchen gritted his teeth in a cross-legged position, hugging his spear in annoyance as he waited for the cooldown before he could try those monsters again.
"We got killed instantly. Is it the corrupted monsters that are too strong, or are we currently too weak?" Zhuan Mei, the heaven-favored children, stared at her hands in disbelief.
She possessed a divine-like background and experience, but she never expected in her second life, she couldn't even kill a corrupted monster of the same rank.
"Ugh, Am I dead just like that?!" Abraham jolted as he spawned in the revival chamber. He lay down within the revival bubble, unable to move, but he knew that he had just died, or truly almost died, before the system kicked in to save him.
"Keke, even the Nightmare Demon Ancestor got killed in the first three hours." Klaus laughed in amusement.
"Noisy. Please shut up." Skyla closed her eyes, feeling disturbed in her recovery by the two nearby noisy old demons.
"So, I guess it's just Sacred Sakura's people who fare better than the rest of us, huh."
"They are built differently, and they've obviously been trained for this kind of extreme thing."
"You're right. They have a head start advantage to familiarize themselves. I believe this isn't their first opportunity."
"Stop complaining and show what you're capable of in your second attempt. Just by following this training for a week, we can receive an unimaginable participant reward. Not to mention, the three chances of life to forge ourselves beyond limits. This greatest opportunity won't come twice."
The elders and influential figures of the Righteous Alliance commented positively even though they had just been defeated by the monsters.
"But, have you ever wondered why the Sacred Sakura Goddess summoned us and invited us for this intense training all of a sudden? The notice came the day before today, and it felt like a rushed event." An old sage raised his hand, raising his suspicions in case the others were well-informed about this.
"You say it now. I found it was a bit odd, but I wonder why..." Abraham rubbed his chin, feeling that there was an important agenda for the upcoming event that Sacred Sakura had not announced yet.
"Should we just ask the Sacred Sakura Goddess directly? Even though we can't see or perceive her, I believe she is still keeping her eye over the entire realm right now." Klaus raised his hand as he looked up at the dark sky.
"Try your luck and be extremely polite. Her Grace is not in the best mood at the moment. If you by chance mess things up, it will be a difficult situation." Medea, as a senior mage, kindly reminded, knowing this ancient vampire had no shame and qualms.
"I knew it, missy." Klaus rolled his eyes. After saying that, he took a deep breath and spoke to the dark sky in a poetic tone. "O Sacred Sakura Goddess, the mighty grace of divinity. This humble servant of yours has a confusion and begs for your enlightenment."
There was no immediate response. A few seconds later, the clouds grew bright and a golden light descended from the sky. Elysia found it might probably be about the time to hint to the allied forces about the upcoming disaster and her family's departure. "Sure, we shall enlighten you, Lord Klaus."
"Ahem..." Klaus adjusted his tone and composition because he almost lost himself to the Sacred Sakura Goddess' divine grace, beauty, and presence. After that, he proceeds to express his confusion about the true reason behind this assignment and opportunity, hoping to get at least a hint about the upcoming major event.
"You should be aware that what you experienced in this realm is just a realistic simulation, just like a game..." Elysia faintly smiled as she turned around, holding her hand on her back.
"We wish to train you to deal with the corrupted in the shortest time possible. We can no longer accurately probe the future possibilities, so you better be well-prepared. There's not much time left..." Elysia gazed upon the dark sky with a soft sigh.
"There's not much time... will the corrupted monsters rise to the world anytime soon, Your Grace?" Abraham widened his eyes.
"Lord Abraham, you are an ancient demon yourself. Does the corrupted monster's traits remind you of something from the distant past?" Elysia looked back, making everyone nervous. They looked at the Nightmare Demon Ancestor by reflex at the question.
"Uh, they are sure so tricky and troublesome, but this is the first time I encounter this kind of monster." Abraham scratched his head.
"I see... so you're not from that era. The ancient demons went into hiding during the ancient calamity. So that might be your great-grandfather, perhaps?" Elysia tapped her chin. She honestly thought the ancient demons should be aware of more things than the other beings, but even Abraham and Klaus knew nothing about it.
"I believe, you have heard of it, the heavenly evil seeds. The corrupted monsters residing in this realm are the weaker version of the abyssal monsters and heavenly demons from the previous era, the ones that once destroyed the world." Elysia glanced at several knowledgeable figures, but her gaze landed on Zhuan Mei.
"!!!" Everyone gasped in shock.
"!?" Zhuan Mei paled instantly as if that tragedy flashed before her eyes. She trembled at the memory of the heavenly demon's terror.

She had heard of the world's origin, and long ago, the world she currently resided in had actually been destroyed twice, ending two eras. However, the Sacred Sakura Goddess mentioned it right now, and it terrified her because she knew what it implied.
"Wait, will the divine calamity, the abyssal tide, strike us again?!" Zhuan Mei asked, unconsciously raising her voice, almost hysterical.
"Who knows if it will strike you, but we'll soon depart for the holy war in the Divine World. After this training is over, Sacred Sakura will enter a full defense. I hope you can protect the world alongside my sect." Elysia replied with a reassuring smile, aimed at Zhuan Mei, the one who knew more about it than the others.
After responding, she waved her hand and vanished. "I have a matter to attend to. Recover yourself well and train hard so you won't be bullied by monsters~"
*Poof*
Everyone took a moment of silence to comprehend what they had just heard.
"The Sacred Sakura's strongest figures... they will leave this mortal realm soon?"
"Then that means..."
"They will soon engage in the Divine War!"
"The corrupted monsters will descend!"
"If the Gods and Immortal failed, then the world was as good as over! That's why Sacred Sakura Goddess wished to train us urgently!"
A chilling hush fell over the gathered cultivators as the weight of those words sank in. If the most powerful sect in the world had sent all its higher-ups to battle in the Divine World, what calamity loomed on the horizon?
For the first time, the affiliates felt something other than awe. They felt unease.
"Shut up, and calm your damn fucking down!" Zhuan Mei snapped, exploding over everyone's chatter. "Sacred Sakura is here to train us so we will be prepared to face the corrupted monsters when they break into the mortal world. The ancient records informed us that the previous calamity destroyed the world, but we ended up victorious in the end! We need to give our best to prepare ourselves to eradicate those evil filthy things, easing Sacred Sakura Goddess from worry. But, look at you, anxious for nothing as if you have no faith in Her Divine Grace."
Everyone suddenly fell silent. Whether it is the old deities or veteran demigods, they immediately contemplate it. With Sacred Sakura around, they would be united, and they would surely be able to form a combined force powerful enough to eradicate the corrupted monsters that invaded their world.
They didn't need to worry about the Divine World because the Gods and Immortals of Heaven would surely handle the stronger ones, but the wealth might escape and invade the mortal worlds. So they should be well prepared.
"How funny, but it's such a relief because none of you harbor any ill intention to Sacred Sakura even though you know that most of our higher-ups will soon ascend." A saint of the Elysion Chruch sneered.
"What a rude remark, brat. Are you saying we are stupid and ungrateful? It's just the corrupted monsters from the ancient era. We can surely handle them." Abraham stared in contempt, feeling somewhat offended.
"Heh. That's good to hear. Our Supreme Goddess and her Divine Pantheon will join the frontline in the upper world next week. The battle will take years, and in that time, the mortal worlds are surely falling into a time of darkness. I hope, you never betray the Supreme Goddess's trust in you." The nearby priestess represents her fellow comrades, hinting at it with a reminder.
*Zap* *Zap*
Two other people suddenly emerged in the revival chamber, wrapped by the bubble right away.
"Argh! Argh! Stay away!" Mingyue screamed her lungs out, terrified by something. However, she was stunned a second later when she realized she was revived and was already in the safe zone.
"Can you please not scream like a demon? I'm sure Goddess already informed us that we have three lives in this chance..." Meiying covered her ears, feeling almost deaf from her teammate's terrified scream.
"Ugh, how unbecoming of me." Mingyue blushed, feeling embarrassed. She was so terrified back then, but strangely, she felt at ease and safe now. The trauma was miraculously healed.
She then looked around, feeling a bit proud because there were already many teams that were eliminated in the first few hours. So, her feat wasn't too bad.
However, she found the atmosphere a bit heavy and very quiet. "Err, what's going on, everyone? Is the shock too much for you as well?"
"..." Everyone stared at the Blood Moon Saintess. They were never traumatized, instead, they burned with the desire to strive for better as they didn't want to be bullied or humiliated by the corrupted monsters.
