Chapter 105: Here with you

***********************************************

"Death is close to you," Sage found herself in complete darkness as a deep raspy voice chanted continuously.

When she looked around, all she saw was darkness, and when she tried to take a step, her legs became immobile, as if they were glued to the ground.

Her heart was racing like it was going to jump out of her chest, and she felt sweat prickle on her forehead.

Blood pumping through her veins made her feel as if they were about to burst, and her breathing was becoming dangerously low due to a lack of oxygen.

"Death is close to you." The voice chanted, and Jorad appeared, his face close to hers, his bloodied teeth visible.

"You will perish." He burst into hysterical laughter and snatched her shoulders.

Sage let out a terrified scream, her hands bursted out fire that immediately engulfed him, and he shrieked in pain as he burned, turning into nothing but dust.

"Cyrus!" Sage screamed in terror, closing her eyes.

"Sage!" She felt someone grabbed her shoulders, followed by a deep, fearful voice.

Sage slowly opened her eyes, her chest rising and falling as she processed what she had just witnessed.

When she met Cyrus’s worried-filled sliver eyes, her lips broke into a shaky smile, and he drew her close to him and pulled her into an embrace.

Sage returned the hug, wrapping her arms around him and trying to keep her breathing and heart rate under control.

She took a deep breath and swallowed hard.

She recognised Jorad, one of the elder Statkus mages, from the memories Lianna had shown her. He was the one they met in Empire City, but since Cyrus had killed him, why did he appear in her nightmare?

Sage did not cry; she was just terrified, still reeling from Lianna’s memories.

Lianna had murdered her mother and exploited her... Dexter and Julius were just opportunistic humans who stepped into her life.

"I..I.. do not feel any better after killing her, I.. sh..should have stabbed her continuously until I felt better," Sage hugged Cyrus tightly.

Cyrus could sense her anguish and desire for vengeance. He was afraid that everything that was going on would change her. It was something he didn’t want, which was why he wanted to keep everything about her a secret.

"Slow down." Cyrus patted her back and whispered soothingly. "Because I will not lie to you, it is best if I do not tell you that everything will be fine, but you should know that I am here for you." Sage faintly smiled as he added.

"You know you are going to k..."

"It is better if you do not say it; I already know and I am sick of hearing it." Cyrus broke the hug, cupping her face, and whispered.

"She disrupted my spell, causing you to pass out." He disclosed.

"Is that why I saw Jorad?" Sage inquired as Cyrus stroked her cheeks with his thumbs.

"Only the most powerful Statkus mages have access to the sea of blood, and I assume Jorad is one of them." Cyrus spoke slowly.

"I would like you to teach me some spells and skills." Sage stated with confidently.

Cyrus’ lips twitched. "How skilled are you with a sword?" He inquired, his face amused.

"Average." Sage laughed.

"I will be busy these days, so you will have your own teacher, but you must read all of the books I gave you." Cyrus said this to her, and she nodded.

"Is there anything wrong?" Sage inquired, perplexed.

"Let’s just say that I now have more responsibilities. Remember that I am a king?" Cyrus asked, showing off his dimples.

"And i am your queen." Sage laughed and kissed him on the lips.

"Yes, you are," He snatched her lower lip before she could move away and sucked slowly.

Sage rested her hands on his shoulders, her eyes closed, as they kissed passionately, her heart racing with anticipation.

Cyrus held her chin as his tongue sucked and tasted every part of her mouth until she was out of breath.

He let go of her chin, grabbed her hands on his shoulders, and interlocked them with hers, pushing her to lie down on the bed without breaking the kiss, her hands pinned by her sides.

Sage let out a shaky moan as Cyrus kissed her on the jaw. He let go of one of her hands and untied the ropes that were tied near the hem of her dress up to her chest.

Cyrus drew her up and undressed her until she was only wearing her undergarments.

Sage poured her passion and desire into the kiss, leaving Cyrus’ head completely blank and filled with her and only her.

Sage suddenly pushed him to the bed while aggressively kissing him. Her hair fell on his face as she broke the kiss, caressing his cheek with her fingers.

"What would you like to do, parrot?" Cyrus whispered, raising his hand and pushed his fingers into her hair.

"I do not know, I am just hungry." Sage responded with a smile.

"For me?" With a deep chuckle, Cyrus inquired.

"No, not for food." Sage laughed and kissed him on the lips.

"All right, let’s have dinner..."

"Cyrus, your Majesty!" Ashton abruptly called from behind the closed door.

"What?" Cyrus inquired with a deep growl, his gaze fixed on Sage, who had turned her gaze to the door.

"I am afraid I can not say anything while you are with your parrot." Ashton muttered.

Sage returned her gaze to Cyrus as he rolled his eyes. "All right, I will start reading right now." She stated.

"Alright, I will make sure Ava brings you your dinner." Cyrus raised his head and kissed Sage’s cheek.

She smiled, nodded, and sat on the other side of the bed as Cyrus stood up, walked to the door, opened it, and walked out, seeing Ashton, who was leaning against the wall in front of him.

"That man Dexter is getting on my nerves, and I want to drag him to hell and torture him." Cyrus burst out laughing as Ashton spoke flatly.
