{'Brother, something is going on with the baddies.'}

While Aoni collected himself and helped Glacia back to her feet, Nyria's voice entered his mind causing him to look in the direction he'd fired off his large caliber ice bullet.

The devastation the attack had left in its wake wasn't to be underestimated either. Although only a few trees were sporting fist-sized holes, the further out Aoni observed, the more extensive the damage became.

Unfortunately, unlike his birb, Aoni didn't have sharp enough eyes to see the full extent of the damage, yet he didn't believe it to be a few minor downed trees.

After all, the force behind the bullets firing was enough to send him soaring, so there was no doubt the forest had sustained quite an impact further out.

{'What's wrong?'} Feeling a creeping dread slither up his spine, Aoni's eyes panned away from the trees and toward the sky.

{'Right before your bullet was supposed to hit the hobby, the target I picked out for you, you know, that one that keeps looking your direction, he grabbed one of its friends and changed places.'}

'That crafty little shit, since he can sense the incoming Energia, it used an underling as a meat shield...tsk.' Gritting his teeth, Aoni understood that he needed to outmaneuver this Hobgoblin Leader if he was going to win the battle.

"GROAAAAHHHH!" Right as Aoni was about to relocate and ask Nyria to get him the coordinates of the main Hobgoblin, a guttural roar shook the forest.

{'Enemies heading your direction, brother, the hobby is sending three of the big ones after you while a bunch of little ones are following them.}

"Damn it, Glacia; we are moving; follow me; don't wander off." Swiftly climbing a tree, Aoni took off like a monkey while the floof sped along through the snow like a blur.

{'Glacia, we are circling to the north, cutting through the Fort and heading back down the western side.'}

{'Kay brodderrrr!'}

{'How large is the group heading toward the place I fired from, Nyria?'} Using his weapons, Aoni practically flew through the forest while ignoring the loud sounds of trees falling and monster roars.

{'The hobby stayed back with the last one, and they sent about 300 of the tiny baddies to follow the big ones.'} She replied curtly.

Gracefully banking in the air, Nyria kept a close eye on the monsters that had been separated from the group but kept her main focus on the so-called Leader Baddie.

'Not a terrible strategy, dividing your forces to try and flush out the enemy; however, we know this mountain peak like the back of our hand, and we have eyes in the sky, you dumb brute.' Wearing a twisted smirk, Aoni and Glacia raced up and around the fort before heading down the western slope of the mountain.

{'They are still staying put and waiting to hear back from the baddies the hobby sent away, so keep going toward the barrier…'}

Under Nyria's directions, Aoni and Glacia eventually posted up about 400 yards behind the stationary enemy group.

'I can't waste any time charging up a bullet, not when I'm this close; that bastard hobby's senses are too good, so my only option is a rapid charge and multiple attacks.' Aoni mused while listening to the shout-outs coming through the LoS, indicating direction and positioning.

'Without being able to charge up my attack, Trolls are off the table, I won't be able to generate enough force to one-shot them, and all it will do is give away my position…but hitting a hobby here will be challenging.

Posting up atop a tree and barely noticing the bald heads of the tall Trolls at a distance, Aoni's jaw slid side to side in thought while attempting to figure out the best course of action.

The longer he mulled over the subject of concern in his mind, the more a strange thought surfaced.

'Hold on, maybe my way of thinking isn't correct here; what if the Hobby can't actually sense Energia but a shifting in nature instead.'

'Huh? Woah, woah, am I actually onto something there?'

| Indeed |

'Okay then, so if it isn't exactly a form of Sensing Energia that's the issue, that means it has to be the way I draw in and manipulate Ambient Energia instead, nothing comes from nowhere, and by siphoning and wrangling the Abundant naturally occurring Energia, I am drawing its attention.'

'In that case, because it's a creature in tune with its surroundings, any minor shifts in the Air are perceivable to the Hobgoblin, and since I am causing such a stir, it's enough to draw the monster's attention, meaning I need to work off my individual Energia reserves instead.'

'Fooo, fuck off already. I don't need you humoring me,' Swatting in the air and quickly assuming his shooting position, Aoni closed his eyes and focused on the space just beside his heart, where his Energia Cell was beating in time with his life-giving organ.

'My greatest weakness, apart from low stats and grades, has always been my controlling my innate Energia, yet I can get around that blockade by infusing copious amounts of late filtered power from outside sources, basically brute forcing my way through something that is supposed to be intricate and artful.'

'Up until now, my personal Energia has always been supplemental, and using it like a shell over top of late filtered outside Energia, I am able to execute attacks…yet I know well enough that things won't always be like they are here in my Territory..'

'Exactly, so since I have a lot to draw from, I've never really considered doing things the normal way and just kind of went with the flow, but now I see it won't work every time and that I've just been lucky.' While these thoughts floated around in Aoni's head, the tip of his index finger began glowing with a faint, icy light, but unlike when he manifests a bullet, this time, the Ice coated his finger, much like what happens when you dip a finger into a lit candle's melted wax.
