Kiss the Scumbag-Chapter 94
What is going on here!
Yujin looked around helplessly, his face flushed bright red. When was Winston going to come back? Restlessly, he glanced in the direction Winston had disappeared. The couple from before kept coming into his view. They seemed completely indifferent to their surroundings. Seeing them cling to each other without a single gap, occasionally laughing, stirred a different feeling inside Yujin.
I’m jealous...
Startled by the thought, he quickly shook his head. What am I thinking? Am I being too obvious? Get ~Nоvеl𝕚ght~ a grip on yourself!
Just as he scolded himself hard,
“What are you doing here?”
A sudden voice snapped him out of his thoughts. When he looked up, he saw men he had never seen before staring down at him. Reflexively, Yujin hunched his shoulders and took a step back, but there was nowhere to run.
The men were all large, bulky guys. Surrounded by them, Yujin shrank back in fear.
“I’m... waiting for my lover...”
Please just leave! Don’t pay attention to me, please!
He wished desperately, but they didn’t seem to notice at all. Maybe they were ignoring him on purpose. The only certain thing was that Yujin was sweating profusely and clearly distressed. The men exchanged glances, then one of them casually asked,
“When is your lover coming?”
Embarrassed, Yujin lowered his face and mumbled,
“I-I don’t know.”
For some reason, he felt like he had lied. Even though he was telling the truth. The men seemed to think the same because they just chuckled.
“So you don’t know when they’ll come?”
“Wow, that’s mean. Leaving such a pretty girl alone, where did they go?”
“If it were me, I’d never do that.”
“Of course, who’d trust a guy like you?”
The rowdy guys burst out laughing. Yujin couldn’t even force a laugh; he just nervously looked around.
“Um, I’m gonna... go now...”
As he tried to say he was leaving, one of the men suddenly blocked his way.
“Where do you think you’re going?”
Another guy stepped in beside him.
“If your lover comes looking for you, can you just wander around wherever you want?”
“What if they get worried and start looking for you? Poor lover.”
“Uh...”
At their words, Yujin was at a loss, his eyes darting around wildly. He was panicking, unable to think clearly. Winston, when are you coming?
Seeing Yujin’s eyes well up with tears, the men made surprised noises, then quickly changed the subject.
“No, what we mean is, just hang out with us for a while.”
“Come on, there’s a pool outside. Isn’t it hot?”
“What’s your name? Don’t be like that—come on, let’s go together.”
The men, suddenly surrounding Yujin, began chattering loudly and on their own terms. But to Yujin, their voices were just noise.
Winston, come quickly.
Trying to hold back, he hastily wiped the tears welling in his eyes with the back of his hand when suddenly someone grabbed his shoulder and pulled him.
“Gah...!”
Startled, Yujin shouted as he was pulled along, but then he caught the familiar sweet scent and relaxed his tense shoulders.
“Winnie.”
He looked up, his face brightening as he recognized the man. Winston smiled at Yujin, then turned his stern face to the men.
“What are you doing? Right now.”
“Wi, Winston.”
The men stammered, noticeably flustered compared to before.
“The lover you said you were waiting for was Winston?”
At someone’s comment, the others looked embarrassed and glanced at Yujin.
“Then why didn’t you say so earlier...?”
“Winston, no, don’t misunderstand. We really didn’t know.”
“Yeah, he was alone, so we just wanted to keep him company. No bad intentions at all.”
Claiming their innocence repeatedly, the men looked toward Winston. Winston only regarded them with cold eyes.
“Nothing really happened?”
Winston asked Yujin for confirmation. Yujin hesitated, then nodded. It was true nothing had happened—just a little fear.
“I was just a little scared... that’s all.”
Upon hearing that, the men’s attitudes shifted and they spoke confidently and loudly.
“See? We didn’t do anything.”
“We just tried to hang out with him kindly.”
“It’s your fault for leaving your lover behind. You were just standing there, not knowing what to do.”
“Yeah, that’s why we deliberately talked to him.”
Winston just frowned in annoyance at their words.
“Now that you know, don’t touch my lover again.”
He said coldly, then turned and left the villa with Yujin. Dragged along, Yujin finally exhaled in relief and waited for Winston to take the driver’s seat.
“So, did you finish what you needed to do...?”
For some reason, his voice was small and subdued. He didn’t understand why he felt so nervous when he hadn’t done anything wrong. Anxiously, he asked, and Winston answered absentmindedly,
“No, they told me to come back tonight. They’ll have it ready by then.”
“Have what?”
Curious, Yujin asked, but Winston just mumbled “Nothing” and changed the subject. The Campbell villa was less than ten minutes away by car. Only after getting out of the car did Winston finally explain.
“I have to take some medicine, but I didn’t bring it. I went to check if anyone at the party had it or could bring it.”
“Medicine?”
Feeling gloomy, Yujin was surprised by Winston’s explanation and opened his eyes wide.
“Are you sick? Are you not feeling well?”
Fearfully, he asked, and Winston hesitated before smiling lightly.
“It’s not a disease or anything. It’s because of my constitution. It’s medicine that balances my pheromones, I guess...”
“Ah...”
Only then did Yujin relax and sigh in relief.
“Is it a big deal if you don’t take it?”
“It’s easier if I take it.”
At the easy answer, Yujin nodded, understanding.
“So you really need that medicine... So you have to go to Evelyn’s place tonight?”
“Probably.”
Again, Yujin could only say, “Yeah, okay.” Puzzled by his reaction, Winston tilted his head.
“Why? Is something bothering you?”
Yujin avoided his gaze and mumbled,
“No, nothing.”
“Yujin, we agreed to be honest.”
That was true. But this was unavoidable. Still, he couldn’t say he didn’t want to meet Evelyn.
“It’s fine. It’s nothing.”
Stubbornly silent, Yujin didn’t say more. After a moment, Winston asked,
“Do you want to go to the party too?”
“Huh?”
Startled by the sudden question, Yujin instinctively looked away. Their eyes met briefly, and Yujin stiffened. Winston continued.
“Was it like before? You wanted to have fun at the party, but I forced you to come...?”
“N-no, that’s not it.”
Yujin quickly shook his head. This was going to cause a misunderstanding! Reluctantly, he finally spoke.
“It’s just that... I don’t like you meeting Evelyn again.”
Finally confessing, Yujin lowered his head deeply, and silence fell.
“Yujin, I’m not meeting Evelyn because of some other reason...”
“I know.”
Cutting off Winston’s attempt to explain, Yujin grumbled sharply.
“But I still don’t like it. Honestly, why did you go somewhere alone with Evelyn and leave me alone earlier? If it was about medicine, you could have talked about it in front of me. You didn’t have to go alone, leaving me by myself...”
How scared I was.
Swallowing the last words, Yujin pressed his lips tightly together. He felt like a child acting out. Throwing such an unreasonable tantrum when he should have behaved maturely. Regret and relief mixed inside him, making his mind dizzy. Winston looked down at him silently for a while, then sighed and answered.
“Alright.”
Looking up unconsciously, Yujin saw Winston smile wryly and say,
“I won’t go. I’ll tell them the medicine’s not needed.”
“Really?”
Yujin couldn’t help but shout. Winston nodded readily.
“It’s better if I take it, but it’s okay if I don’t.”
