Chapter 13: Chapter 13 - Arvia’s father is trying to kill Satteus!?

’...Should I really trust this person?’

While moving behind the nurse, Arvia couldn’t help but squint her eyes, looking around as if judging whether she should trust this nurse, who appeared completely suspicious—taking her through the stairs rather than the lift, which was hardly crowded.

Though one or two people were moving through it, it was still enough to not feel agitated or panic from the suspicion of it being some kind of trap.

"Are you a woman or a man, huh?" Ally called out, causing Arvia to look towards her. She was rubbing her wrist, which Arvia had pulled after hearing those words from her while she was trying to exit that place.

Yanking her hand, Arvia had gotten all the information about the room number and the bed number allotted to Satyas—given her recognition of him from a dimension of purple hair, which was rare, and she had only seen it on him.

"Call me a man again and I’ll break your twig-like limbs!" Arvia, even though struggling with her own physical pain due to leg injuries, still held the railing of the stairs, kept climbing, and gave a glare to Ally, who looked at her with those puppy eyes. Especially after that comment she passed, Arvia was totally pissed off.

She might have taken those words differently and not doubted this nurse, but especially seeing her dress while walking up the stairs in front of her—the way her skirt bounced, revealing two joining milky white plump inward-curved sides of her hips, just hidden by the stockings and what could be called lace for a panty.

With her dress sticking completely to her skin in a way that pushed her cleavage up like a forceful sandwich, it was enough to make Arvia aware of this woman’s character.

There was a fact Arvia was aware of—statistically proven—that in the nursing profession, it was completely normal to have affairs, open physical connections, and even more common than outsiders could imagine.

Due to the restrictions of the medical profession, keeping them away from home most of the time, and connecting them with patients who could influence their future, the situation was enough to mold such women—especially the ambitious types—into someone who might lose their moral values.

So, Arvia was a hundred percent sure that this woman had done what she said at that time.

"Tch, only your hair is like cotton candy—you’re too manly." Ally shook her head and folded her arms as she finally entered one of the floors. That clearly made a nerve bulge on Arvia’s temple, as if she truly wanted to punch this woman in the face and throw her down the stairs from where they had climbed.

"Come, room no.—!" Ally was about to speak and say the room number when Arvia sprinted, pushing her aside with enough force to make Ally stumble forward.

"Hey!" she stumbled, balancing herself against the wall only to look toward the running woman. Even though in pain, Arvia was pushing her body, with blood clearly oozing from her wounds, uncaring of the injuries on her head and feet.

’Master, you better reward me for this one’, Ally thought, smartly gripping a nearby flower pot made of fiber plastic, light enough for a woman like her to hold. She swiftly threw it—more like rolled it—on the floor in the direction Arvia had run, then sprinted herself.

’No, no, no...’ Arvia, on the other hand, unaware of the object approaching behind her, gasped—breathing heavily, eyes roaming around, trying to find the room number. She was clearly shocked by how much her body hurt right now.

Yet, her emotions were far stronger than her physical state, pushing her forward as she seemed to drag herself more than walk or run.

Still, she moved.

"Aargh— come on, Arvia—!" Even through her veins, she tried to push herself. But as she lifted her feet off the floor to move forward, suddenly something came between her feet and the floor, instantly causing her eyes to widen.

The whole world turned upside down, and she realized she was about to fall—directly onto the rough marble floor—with her already injured head.

Her mind went blank. Her eyes blinked rapidly, staring at the ceiling growing distant, and she shut them tightly, prepared for the inevitable.

But instead of pain, what came was a voice—and a soft back-pressure, like a wall pressing against her.

"So, in exchange for your thanks, I want you to introduce me to your boyfriend, got it?" Ally said, scratching her chin, with her waist tilted and knees bent—her back angled perfectly to support Arvia’s fall.

With both their backs touching, Arvia was halted mid-air, just a few inches from the ground. Below her, Ally was on the floor supporting her.

An overall pose where Ally had just saved Arvia from the fall.

"Eh?" Arvia slowly opened her eyes, blinking, then tilted her head and lifted herself slightly. Seeing Ally rise while dusting off her unstained clothes, Arvia just blinked—still not understanding if this girl really saved her from the fall.

Her lips parted, trying to protest the demand, but looking toward her for a moment, the small barrier of repulsion she felt seemed to melt. She averted her gaze, ignoring her, not shouting this time at Ally.

"He’s not my boyfriend. Fine, I’ll introduce you to him—but don’t expect him to give you any attent—" Arvia, well aware of her friend’s character, was trying to clarify things to Ally.

But before she could complete her words, she heard a sound—a clear sound of something like a metal tray falling, followed by a gasp so loud that it made her instantly turn her head in that direction.

Clank

The metal kept ringing as she looked through a window pane, through which she saw a room where her eyes first landed on the purple hair, its brightness amplified by the reflection of the sunlight. She could see clearly. It was him, Satteus, causing her eyes to slowly widen as she finally saw him.

"S-Satteus!?" She swiftly moved as she neared the pane, lifting the lid to see more clearly. She caught a glimpse of his ear through the hair, and as she did to confirm it was him, she saw a cruel sight that instantly stopped her heartbeat.

She saw him flailing his hands and feet while a pillow was being pressed against his face by none other than an injured man in the same patient dress—struggling to stand yet holding the pillow firmly above Satteus’s face.

Instantly, her pink eyes flickered, revealing her disbelief and shock at seeing the man she recognized trying to kill her childhood friend.

"N-no... D-dad.... DAD!"
