CAT WARLOCK: This Darklord Feasts Upon Horror-Chapter 270: Sea Creatures
A giant purple sliced over the entire space of the Void Gate. The remaining wraiths were slashed in two.
The giant egg was split in half. The two egg shells flopped to the ground, revealing another tentacle monster.
Crow emerged from the ground and looked at the remnants of the wraiths. Mater’s attack kill the minor Rank-1 wraiths with one strike.
"Master is powerful."
He looked up to where the egg was. His eyes frowned.
"A jellyfish?"
In the place of the giant egg was a tentacle monster that looked similar to a jellyfish. It even had a bell on top of its body just like a jellyfish had.
"Is the Void an ocean or something?"
The jellyfish wraith had six dark eyes on its body. They could move freely on that ethereal body of the wraith.
The eyes focused on Mater and released their power once more. However, this time it was not a mental attack.
The pupils of each eye dilated. And immediately, Mater could feel his body freeze. Blue lightning shot out from the wraith’s tentacles as they bolted to the leopard’s location.
"I might be unable to move. But don’t think it is that easy to hurt me."
Layered Force Domes all around Mater. The white tentacles slammed on the pink barrier and released countless lightning bolts, but none could reach Mater.
Mater’s Chaos flooded his entire body and neutralized the effect of the eyes.
Enemies could resist his controlling spells. And he could also do the same.
The leopard turned into a strip of darkness and got out of there.
The six eyes followed him closely and wanted to immobilize him again.
"Look at this, six eyes!"
Mater formed a dark ball in his hand and threw it at the jellyfish. The ball exploded into darkness and temporarily blinded the wraith, rendering its controlling ability useless.
He had just used Blinding Void, a spell that didn’t see much use.
The jellyfish roared in a high-pitched tone. It dashed away from the location.
"You’re not going anywhere!"
Black chains reached out from the shadow and held the jellyfish in place. Just to make sure, Mater also used Hellfire’s Sealed Pit. Bright orange chains shot out and pulled the jelly fish into the Hellfire circle.
Waves of Hellfire shot out from the circle and burned the jellyfish greatly.
Mater was about to dig it full of holes with the Nether Beam but he stopped midway when he saw how effective Hellfire was.
"This thing is afraid of Hellfire? I’m gonna have grilled jellyfish!"
While the first Hellfire circle still existed, Mater summoned another Hellfire’s Sealed Pit. More chains wrapped around the jellyfish and burned it with Hellfire.
Rank-1 Spell didn’t cost Chaos. But its cooldown was a big weakness. Mater flicked his fingers repeatedly but couldn’t drown the jellyfish with spells like how he did with Nether Beam.
But that was enough to finish the jellyfish.
Once its regained its vision, the six dark eyes shot in all directions in a panic. It tried to get out of the Hellfire Chains but it couldn’t.
Mater threw another Blinding Void at it and blinded the jellyfish wraith again. He flew on top of it and plunged its claws inside the wraith.
’Get ready, Selina!’
’I’m ready!’
Selina hugged her face into a pillow. She rolled around on her bed and was once again tortured because of the process.
Mater quickly gained another Gemstone. This time it was a Rank-2 Horror Gemstone. A Gemstone that could be used to create Rank-2 controlling spell.
The closing device also finished sealing the Void Gate.
Mater and Crow continued to seal the remainder of the Void Gates.
Colonel Donovan observed everything from afar and saw the Void Gates disappear one by one.
"Assassin works so hard!
Soldiers! Prepare a party! We must welcome him with open arms once he return!"
Colonel Donovan had heard about the reputation of the Atlas Seven. He expected a bumbling fool that would get himself killed. He didn’t anticipate that the Assassin would be a man of extreme commitment.
Mater encountered many different guardians inside the Void Gate. All of them were some type of sea creatures.
The first two were a squid and a jellyfish.
Then he faced a half-man half-crab wraith. That one provided a Despair Gemstone.
Another guardian was an inverted mermaid with a fish head and human body. The wraith was a swordfish and it would pull its fish nose down to use as a sword. That one gave Mater a Sorrow Gemstone.
Then there was a red shrimp. This one attacked by shooting out an extremely destructive air bubble. It was much more devastating than it seemed and was able to crack a Triple Layered Force Dome from Mater.
Mater and Crow spent the entire day sealing the Void Gates.
Selina spent all morning in her room to help them convert the Gemstones. Then she went to school and helped them convert Gemstones while she’s studying.
She was used to it now and was able to hold everything together. Selina pretended like nothing happened.
But a few students could sometimes notice her shuddered shoulder, sweaty forehead, or even her trembling legs from time to time.
That day she had a Psycho-Slave course with Professor Brookes as usual.
Solomon noticed her weird behavior and approached Selina.
The goth girl had her eyes closed and she didn’t even hear Solomon when he called her name.
"Miss Isles? Miss Isles!"
Solomon’s voice came close to shouting but Selina still stayed still.
Solomon rolled up a book and smacked Selina’s head.
A gust of wind shot out from her, causing her hair to float up and pushing Solomon’s hand away before he could touch her. The Octagram on her back lit up in red. Solomon was pushed backward and stumbled on his feet.
He almost fell if he didn’t catch the table behind him.
For a single moment, Solomon felt another power within Selina. A dark sinister power that was definitely not human.
Selina had also finished converting the Gemstone, she opened her eyes.
The Octagram Chaos Eyes flashed for a split second before disappearing. But Solomon saw that.
"Is there something wrong, Professor?" Selina smiled. There was madness within her.
