CAT WARLOCK: This Darklord Feasts Upon Horror-Chapter 271: Spell Construct
"You’re distracting in my class, Miss Isles." Solomon squinted his eyes.
He didn’t mention the strange power that he sensed and deliberately made a fool of himself. Others would think that he was scared by Selina. But he didn’t care.
"I’m sorry, Professor Brookes. I will concentrate more." Selina smiled.
Solomon nodded his head and returned to teaching the class.
The other students whispered to each other. They told a tale of how the Black Professor was scared shitless because of the Big Sister.
Selina knew Solomon gave her a way out. And Solomon also knew that she understood that.
’You are much more considerate than I give you credit for, Solomon. I wonder why...’
Solomon was very antagonized toward her at the beginning. But Selina could see that it was only petty anger. Solomon didn’t hold any grudge toward her. He even seemed to prioritize her in some cases.
Selina could only think of one reason for this.
’This guy is probably in love with my mother or something... But my mother chose my father instead.’
Back in the Confederation. Mater and Crow had swept ten consecutive Void Gates.
Each Void Gates contained around 15 to 30 Rank-1 wraiths and a Rank-2 guardian wraith.
Mater turned five of the Rank-2 Guardians into Emotional Gemstones. The remaining he absorbed them and took their Chaos Singularities.
The Emotional Gemstones could help him develop new spells but Chaos Singularities could ensure the power level of Mater and his servants.
Unfortunately, the Chaos Singularities he harvested belonged to minor wraiths, wraiths that had levels lower than 30. Mater would need wraith in the major level of Rank-2 to conduct his final key, the Key of Sleep.
Specifically, the wraiths needed to be from level 30 to 40 for him to use.
But these Chaos Singularities weren’t useless. He could use it for the servants, and maybe even use it to resurrect Bash.
’Bash would need human souls though...’ Mater rolled his eyes.
"Does the Atlas Seven have any mission that hunts living beings, Crow?" The leopard growled.
"Yes, Master. They are usually missions relating to dealing with corrupted individuals or void terrorists." Crow said.
"Void terrorist?"
"Void terrorist is a branch of rebels that believes that the Void would grant them freedom and immortality. They want the Void to invade our world."
"Just a bunch of fanatics, I assume?"
Crow nodded, "Probably, Master."
"Well then. I know what we should do after this mission."
Mater recounted the spoils he collected from sealing the ten Void Gates.
2 Fury Gemstones, 1 Despair Gemstones, 1 Horror Gemstones, 1 Misery Gemstones. All were Rank-2 Gemstones.
5 Minor Chaos Singularities.
Most importantly, he gathered a large amount of Chaos Spheres, making his total Chaos Spheres 2870 Chaos Spheres. His belly was full of countless Chaos that might explode any ordinary Psychic if they got their hands on the Chaos Spheres.
The sun was going down and Mater decided to finish for today. He still had to sleep. He hadn’t constructed his Key of Sleep yet.
Crow and Mater returned to the military base. When they arrived, the soldiers stood on either side of the gate and saluted them with utmost dignity.
Colonel Donovan stood at the front and also saluted them.
"Welcome back, Assassin."
"At ease, soldier! Why are you guys like this?" Crow typed in the communication device.
Colonel Donovan smiled, "We just want to welcome you back. You’re the most hard-working Psychic I’ve seen."
The base had seen many Psychics. In their eyes, those Psychics were a bunch of spoiled super stars that didn’t know what true war was like.
But Assassin was different. He had been running around, killing RCEs and NCEs since the moment he got here without rest. That gained him the respect from the soldier and the Colonel.
"Were you also in the military, Assassin?" The colonel walked alongside Crow and Mater.
"Not really. Why do you ask?" Crow replied via the device.
"It’s nothing. Your demeanor made me think you served before." Colonel Donovan patted Crow’s shoulder.
He wasn’t wrong. Aaron Cage did serve once. But Assassin didn’t. Some of Cage’s behavior leaked through.
Crow continued to spend time in the dining hall with the soldiers. They had many things to ask him and they found Crow particularly friendly.
Mater returned to their personal quarter.
The leopard directed the Emotional Gemstones in his Demonic Arsenal to his body.
Two red Fury Gemstones. It could be used for offensive spells.
One blue Misery Gemstone. It could be used to construct a defensive spell.
One green Despair Gemstone. This jewel could create a new controlling spell.
One black Horror Gemstone. This one was for spiritual spells.
Mater absorbed all of them. He also had a few Gemstones that he absorbed back then, when he looted the house of Levy. But they were all Rank-1 Gemstones.
’Hmmm. I have a mixture of Gemstones. I want to create a new Rank-2 version of Page of Imprisonment. But how should I approach this?
Technically speaking, this spell is a controlling spell and its main function is to imprison a specter and undead. I wonder if I could use other types of Gemstones to create the Rank-2 version or should I collect the full five Despair Gemstones?’
Mater tapped his chin, pondering what he should do. He knew the power of the Gemstones but he didn’t actually know what the result would be.
"What the hell. Let’s just try it. I can find more Emotional Gemstones later." The leopard growled deeply. The soldiers guarding the quarters outside looked at each other.
They would be lying if they weren’t a little bit afraid from hearing the leopard. After all, it was the beast of the great Assassin.
In his mind, Mater used the five Rank-2 Gemstones to construct a new Rank-2 Page of Imprisonment.
A new complex web of Chaos started to form. Five separated slots appeared within the Chaos Matrix.
Two slots were filled with red anger. The power of Fury.
One slot was filled with blue sorrow. The power of Misery.
One slot was filled with green hopelessness. The power of Despair.
One slot was filled with the terror of black. The power of Horror.
