All My Superpowers Come from the Law of Causality-Chapter 249 - 217: Qualified Test Subjects_2
...
The Treasure Flower Continent where the Celestial Kingdom is located.
In a less noticeable small country, beneath a mountainous area, lies a massive secret base.
Three helicopters flew in from afar. As they reached the base, a section of the ground rumbled and split apart to the sides, revealing a spacious helipad below, where the helicopters gradually landed.
As the ground slowly closed up, everything returned to its original state, concealing any traces of the base's existence.
Beside the helipad inside the base.
Liu Weida, the base director, Professor Ma Zhonglin, the chief research officer, along with several other senior managers, were all dressed in formal attire, solemnly welcoming the arrival of the three helicopters.
Once the helicopters landed safely, the people inside disembarked, and Liu Weida and others approached them proactively.
"Welcome, President Sun!"
"Welcome, everyone!"
Led by Liu Weida, the group approached an elderly man with thick black hair, respectfully greeted him, and smiled, nodding towards the people behind him.
"President Sun, I am Liu Weida, the base director. Please follow me this way."
President Sun spoke firmly, "Take me straight to the lab. This batch of drugs is very important; they need to be injected immediately."
"Alright."
Liu Weida responded, his gaze sweeping past President Sun, pausing momentarily on the boxes carried by two individuals, then turning to lead them towards the laboratory.
Quickly, the group donned anti-static suits, went through several disinfection procedures, and arrived at an extremely spacious laboratory.
At one end of the laboratory was a one-way bulletproof glass wall, allowing the group to overlook a huge circular hall on the other side.
At this moment, dozens of figures stood neatly in the hall, each one spirited, full of fighting spirit, like soldiers awaiting inspection.
President Sun asked, "The qualified test subjects I asked you to screen in advance, are these them?"
"Yes."
"Good."
President Sun did not waste words, signaling with his eyes to the two carrying the boxes, who stepped forward.
"Arrange for the injection."
"Alright."
Liu Weida responded, instructing a staff member to open a small door nearby, leading the two with boxes inside and down the steps to the circular hall.
Staying above, the group quietly watched the two people consecutively inject the test subjects with the drugs.
Professor Ma Zhonglin, the chief research officer, unable to contain his curiosity, cautiously asked:
"President Sun, if I may inquire, what is the origin of this drug?" 𝚏𝕣𝕖𝚎𝚠𝚎𝚋𝚗𝐨𝐯𝕖𝕝.𝕔𝐨𝕞
"These test subjects survived through countless hardships, awakening quite impressive superpowers with minimal side effects. Should they really be injected with another drug without further assessment?"
President Sun glanced at him, replied blandly:
"Rest assured, these drugs have been validated over many years as successful products that greatly enhance physical fitness, with a very high success rate."
"But also, don't harbor any personal intentions; these drugs are only suitable for experimental use because they severely exhaust one's life force."
"Only these test subjects, unlikely to live long anyway, experience little to no impact from such side effects."
Upon hearing this, Professor Ma Zhonglin's interest piqued, and he continued to inquire:
"President Sun, may I ask what this drug is called? Which research institution is it from? Could I perhaps communicate with them, potentially making breakthroughs in our own products?"
President Sun waved his hand, his face turning extremely serious: "Do not inquire about the origins of this drug; knowing too much is detrimental to you."
As the two spoke.
Inside the circular hall, the dozens of test subjects were enduring immense pain, their muscles seeming to be repeatedly torn and healed. Despite the unimaginable agony, they could not help but scream.
Fortunately, having previously experienced similar pains more than once, despite feeling unbearable at the moment, they managed to withstand it.
After several minutes of enduring this pain, everyone's muscles appeared slightly swollen, seeming as hard as iron.
Witnessing this, President Sun, who had maintained a solemn expression, subtly relaxed inside, instructing Liu Weida next to him:
"The drug injections are complete; these test subjects can now be put to use. Let them rest well for two days; they'll be needed soon."
...
Celestial Kingdom, 88th floor of Yonghui Building.
Following a meeting lasting several minutes held by Deng Zhongquan, CEO of Yonghui Group, alongside several executives, he emerged from the meeting room, looking a bit fatigued.
Amidst respectful greetings from numerous employees, he returned with a stern face to his office, pushed the door open, and entered, casually closing it behind him.
Yet, at that moment, he suddenly noticed a silhouette sitting in his spot.
This discovery startled him.
With his secretary stationed outside and many other employees present, who could walk freely into his office and sit in his chair?
Upon identifying the figure occupying his seat, his mind settled.
"Mr. Su, you're here."
Attempting to suppress the shock and fear inside, he feigned calm to greet the visitor.
"Take a seat; I have something to ask you."
Su Xin invited with a tone of authority.
Deng Zhongquan dared not exhibit any dissatisfaction or defiance, obediently sitting before his desk.
Su Xin did not immediately delve into the subject but instead glanced around, questioning:
"Should this environment be suitable for discussion?"
Understanding that Su Xin was likely to discuss confidential matters, Deng Zhongquan hurriedly stood to lock the office door, returned to his desk, pressed a switch, causing all blinds to shut automatically, and silencing the faint red light on surveillance equipment in the corner.
"It's ready, Mr. Su."
He sat back at the desk, his expression solemn.
Su Xin gazed at him calmly:
"Explain everything you know about the Divine Realm, including information about gods, Divine Attendants, etc."
Upon hearing the words "Divine Realm," Deng Zhongquan shuddered momentarily, his pupils contracting sharply. Though quickly calming down, Su Xin nonetheless captured his initial reaction.
Facing Su Xin, Deng Zhongquan dared not conceal anything, yet the existence of the Divine Realm remained deep-rooted taboo, leaving him conflicted.
Although he was momentarily troubled, he decided to prioritize survival, obediently stating:
"Mr. Su, regarding the Divine Realm, my understanding is quite limited. As a mere professional manager, I lack substantial foundations, only discovering its existence through interactions with top elites."
"Those truly knowledgeable about the Divine Realm are ancient families with deep-seated legacies, top elite clubs, and the like."
"Based on my limited understanding, the Divine Realm possesses numerous Superpower Users, advanced technologies, and remarkably powerful individuals."
"Moreover, periodically, the Divine Realm sends elevation invitations to certain individuals in the Mortal World—they often refer to our world as the Mortal World—inviting people with significant contributions to enter the Divine Realm for life."
"Upon entering the Divine Realm, there's a chance to attain immortality; this is likely genuine. At a top elite club gathering, I heard from a friend with ancestral background that a family elder entered the Divine Realm, living close to two hundred years, appearing even younger than past photos, looking merely fifty or sixty."
"There are multiple such examples."
"Everyone speaks convincingly, with some people I know well enough to eliminate the possibility of lies."
Deng Zhongquan cautiously divulged these details, not because he was so intimidated that he failed to keep secrets without any imminent threat, spilling everything effortlessly like spilled beans.
He was mainly influenced by Su Xin's unpredictable demeanor, making a lasting impression with acts quick to kill. Seeing Su Xin utter key information about the Divine Realm, clearly prepared, he dared not fabricate.
Otherwise, he might be killed on the spot.
Yet he wisely discerned what could be said, unsaid, what required truth, and what allowed mixed honesty.
