Zombie Apocalypse: I Have Safe Zone Superpower-Chapter 51: Cellar
Chapter 51: Chapter 51: Cellar
Ivy raised an eyebrow. Patrick’s intelligence was truly commendable.
What’s the use, though? He still fell into her trap.
’Don’t be smug, Ivy, in the first life, you fell into his trap too.’ Her inner self mocked her.
"Okay. But how should I know that it’s not a trap?"
Patrick’s eyes widened for a fraction of a second before he turned calm and said, "Why will I deceive you? I am so thirsty that I might die... Just go and check, even if that is a trap, I will die due to hunger."
Ivy stared at him intently before shaking her head, "Oh, Patrick... when will you learn your lesson, huh? You can’t outsmart me."
She pointed at the kitchen and said,
"Do you think I don’t know that the kitchen only has traps and no food. How foolish of you."
Patrick was filled with disbelief.
He couldn’t understand why Ivy knew about such internal matters.
Ivy let him struggle. She didn’t intend to tell him the truth anyway. In her past life, she had watched how cautiously Patrick used to enter in kitchen.
Even in this life, he had led her into the kitchen and strictly asked her to follow him.
When she was making ORS, Ivy came to realize that the kitchen hardly had any food.
How strange.
Ivy thought long and hard before reaching a conclusion. The kitchen must have held traps.
In case any thief ever raids Patrick’s house, they will first enter the kitchen and, without Patrick’s guidance, they will fall into a trap.
Patrick’s disbelief confirmed Ivy’s doubts.
She shook her head, "I thought I should be kind and let you have some food today, but you... You dared to scheme against me."
She paused before kicking him hard in the stomach, causing Patrick to curl up and cry out in pain.
"I am so disappointed in you. Looks like I need to punish you."
Patrick should his head and pleaded, "I will tell you... Ahh!"
Ivy ignored him and took out a razor. She started to exert pressure as she glided down his skin.
The torture lasted another 3 hours before Patrick was completely broken and said in a hoarse voice,
"I will tell the truth, okay? Just... just give me a drop of water."
"Of course," Ivyu was exhausted too, "But first let me tighten your left hand, which you had confidence that you could pull out once I die in one of the traps."
Patrick’s eyes widened, and he was suddenly terrified of Ivy’s future prediction ability.
’Maybe she is able to see the future every single time, and hence she can dodge every single one of them? It would be better if I dropped the idea of taking revenge and just ran far away from her. Even if I want to take revenge, she will see it future and know everything.’
He gulped and said,
"The food is under the master bedroom’s bed. There is a cellar in which all the food is stored."
Ivy paused. She was a bit indecisive at this point. Torn between trusting him and not. After much thought, she bluffed with a calm expression,
"You are lying again."
This time Patrick didn’t show any surprised expression, instead closed his eyes as if he had accepted his fate,
"You are powerful, Ivy. I admit defeat. Just lift the carpet of the living room and knock on the wood 2 meters away from the wall, it should be near the south leg of the table."
Ivy paused before nodding.
This time she didn’t question Patrick, instead she followed his instruction but also dragged his leg as a shield, in case it held any traps.
Lifting the carpet, Ivy knocked before she found a different color of pressable wood.
Ivy’s actions made Patrick’s beliefs firm, and he said,
"There is indeed a surprise punch attack. Can you let go of the leg?"
She shook her head shamelessly, "I won’t use my power to know the future. I will let you suffer on behalf."
With that, she pressed the wood, and the wood parted, before an 8-punching glove machine popped out of the floor.
POW! POW! POW!
The gloves swung in the air wildly, punching left and right like something from a crazy cartoon.
Ivy quickly ducked behind Patrick’s leg, using it like a shield while the gloves kept smacking the air where she had just been standing.
Patrick cried out in pain as one of the gloves hit his shin. "Ahhh! My leg!"
Ivy peeked out from behind him and smiled. "Well, at least now we know you weren’t lying... this time."
After about ten seconds, the machine stopped moving.
The gloves slowly pulled back into the floor with a click-clack, and the wooden panel slid open, revealing a narrow staircase going down.
"You wouldn’t have to suffer so much if you hadn’t lied," Ivy said with a smirk.
After checking that each chain was tied securely, just to be safe, she then stood up and looked down the hidden stairs.
It was dark, and it smelled like old wood and something musty. Ivy didn’t rush. She grabbed a flashlight from the shelf and slowly walked down the stairs.
Each step creaked under her feet.
Finally, she reached the bottom and blinked in shock.
There were shelves, tons of them, lined up neatly, like a small grocery store. Cans, jars, boxes, water bottles... everything was here.
Ivy let out a low whistle. "Dang, Patrick... you were hiding a goldmine."
"Just leave me some food. I won’t survive if you take away everything. Have some mercy," Patrick shouted, his voice filled with pleading.
’Mercy? What a fool!’ Ivy thought. She was dying to dive in and see the treasure, but controlling her expression, she nodded and said,
"Sure enough. What good will I get by letting you die?" I will let you live a long... long life.
With that, she descended, and the scene in front of her made her breath hitch.
’No wonder he could live a good life even after 5 years.’ Ivy thought.
