Live Strong in the Wilderness-Chapter 305: Dropping By
Chapter 305: Unexpected Visitors (Title Mistake)
It wasn’t long after they went out that it was already noon.
After all, it wasn’t early when they set out.
They controlled their speed along the way and didn’t run very fast.
After all, Xu Yi and Lu Ke wanted to pay attention to the plants; missing other vegetables or spices would be a pity.
However, they didn’t find anything the whole morning.
Since they ate breakfast late, Xu Yi and Lu Ke only had some jerky after one o’clock.
Then after a short break, the two continued their exploration.
Later, they encountered a herd of wild buffalo.
Yes, indeed, wild buffalo.
Xu Yi and Lu Ke were a bit surprised when they saw them.
But these buffaloes were running, and Xu Yi and Lu Ke quickly avoided them.
Hundreds of buffaloes running toward you would be incredibly destructive.
Initially, Xu Yi thought some animals were chasing them, but soon realized there weren’t.
"Xu Yi, should we chase them?" Lu Ke glanced at Xu Yi, thinking buffaloes weigh over a thousand pounds; killing one would mean steak for dinner.
Black pepper steak — how exciting!
Xu Yi hesitated for a moment and then agreed to chase them.
Unfortunately, the buffaloes ran very fast, as if they were avoiding something.
So, after half an hour of chasing, Xu Yi and Lu Ke gave up. After all, there’s no guarantee they’d catch up.
"Too bad, the steaks got away."
"I think we should be careful; these buffaloes are running quite strangely, and there’s nothing chasing them."
"Who knows, this planet has no shortage of strange happenings."
"Tsk, tsk, the way you’re handling this wilderness makes it feel like a horror set; I almost thought I was in the wrong movie scene."
"It feels like 100 days are approaching, and the issues are multiplying."
Unable to catch the buffalo, Xu Yi and Lu Ke headed back towards the camp, hoping to encounter suitable wild animals on the way to gain some points.
Unfortunately, they didn’t meet any wild animals until they returned to the camp.
But upon arriving, there was a surprise.
Wang Jin and Lu Yao were at their camp, with two wild donkeys tied up next to the deer pen.
They hadn’t entered the house and were outside.
Hearing a noise, the two quickly picked up their hunting bows and prepared to shoot.
Upon seeing it was Xu Yi and Lu Ke, they shot their arrows into the dirt in front of them to prevent damage to the hunting bows.
"How come you’re back so early? Did you know we were coming?" Wang Jin asked happily, thinking it was only 4:43, two hours before dark. She expected Xu Yi and Lu Ke would only return after dark.
"Didn’t know, but it’s quite a coincidence. You just arrived, right?" Lu Ke said with a smile, then jumped down from Juha and led it to the first-floor door, tying it up.
Xu Yi drove the reindeer back to the deer pen, tied them up, and then went back inside.
Wang Jin and Lu Yao were also inside, and Lu Ke had made honey water for them.
"Lu Ke, how unfair of you! You even have chips, fries, and ketchup!!!" Wang Jin exclaimed, almost transformed by envy at the snacks Lu Ke brought out.
"Just made these over the past couple of days; try them out." Lu Ke stuck out her tongue, feeling a bit embarrassed.
"I’m so jealous, sis, I’m green with envy!" Wang Jin dipped a fry in some ketchup, not hiding her admiration at all.
"We got lucky finding a place where potatoes grow and dug some up." Lu Ke explained, as collaboration would be possible in 16 days.
By then, Wang Jin and Lu Yao could naturally eat the potatoes. 𝐟𝐫𝕖𝗲𝘄𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝕧𝐞𝚕.𝕔𝕠𝐦
"Oh my gosh, hurry to the hundred days mark, I’m sick of eating meat every day!" Wang Jin said with a frown; she and Lu Yao hadn’t found any staple foods, surviving only on meat and vegetables.
Moreover, the vegetables were few, unable to be eaten at every meal.
"Almost there, just 16 days left; they’ll pass quickly." Xu Yi chimed in with a smile, after 84 days passed, 16 more wouldn’t be hard to endure.
"Speaking of which, we’ve done quite well, lasting 84 days, and we’re much stronger compared to the beginning." Wang Jin said with a smile, naturally wanting to hide her bitter expression upon seeing Xu Yi.
"Yes, this planet’s magic is here; though life here is tough, we don’t want to leave at all." Xu Yi said, taking the cup Lu Ke handed him.
The cup contained honey water with a mango flavor.
Lu Yao nodded in agreement; facing life-or-death tests, they were unwilling to give up and persisted.
Everyone knows leaving here means losing the chance to continue growing stronger, and maybe losing everything they have now.
So unless it’s life-threatening, probably no one would easily give up now.
After chatting for a while, Lu Yao and Wang Jin went upstairs for a tour and soon discovered Xu Yi and Lu Ke had stored quite a lot of potatoes.
Jealousy, indeed, ran deep.
But remembering they could soon collaborate and live together, Wang Jin felt relieved.
After all, the camps aren’t far apart, moving items would be quick.
For dinner, Wang Jin and Lu Yao didn’t eat together.
They had jerky with hot water, the same scenario Xu Yi experienced at their camp.
But at night, they could sleep on the first floor.
That way, there was no worry about wild animal attacks.
Juha was tied outside, as carnivorous scale rats were detected, caution was necessary as Juha could easily spot them.
Wang Jin and Lu Yao were startled hearing about the carnivorous scale rats from Xu Yi.
After all, these creatures have bizarre attack methods, preferring to eat internal organs.
If attacked while asleep, they might not even have time to react.
Taming canine animals was necessary.
After all, they’re quite alert.
Because of the scale leopard yesterday, Xu Yi and Lu Ke were completely absorbed and didn’t consider other animals being in their camp.
At night, the four played a few rounds of chess.
Among the four, only Wang Jin and Xu Yi could play mahjong; Lu Yao and Lu Ke could not. Otherwise, they could start making mahjong sets.
However, Xu Yi planned to carve wood on boring nights in the future; without some projects, lack of entertainment could make one incredibly bored.
