Zombie Apocalypse: I Have Safe Zone Superpower-Chapter 41: Status Window
Chapter 41: Chapter 41: Status Window
Silas was stunned. Looking at the blue panel screen, his heart pounded in his ears.
He had read some of the comics and novels and knew about the system and such stuff. However, seeing a system panel with his own eyes, Silas still felt everything was unrealistic.
[Please answer the question. On the basis of your answer, the next action will be taken.]
Silas snapped out of his daze and asked,
"What benefit will I get?"
[It will depend on your performance and level. As you level up, you will be granted various rewards, and your skill will improve too. At the basic level, you can buff weapons. You can increase the offensive or defensive aspects of weapons.]
Silas raised an eyebrow... this system was quite unique.
"Okay, then I will bind."
[Thank you, host! You will not regret this.]
With that, Silas felt a wave of pressure pass through his entire body, before he heard the system say,
[Congratulations on binding. As a gift, you will receive a newbie package. The newbie package has been stored in your inventory.]
[First Mission: Kill 20 zombies within the next 24 hours. Reward: Unlocking the attack power buff!]
Silas raised an eyebrow. ’This task is pretty easy.’
A normal person might struggle, but Silas was a military person, had fought with many zombies in the past 3 months.
Suddenly, his eyes fell on the status window. With slight curiosity, he clicked on it.
[Name: Silas
Age: 21
Power: Thunder(dormant), ???, ???.
Strength: 30
Agility: 24
Speed: 23
Endurance: 52
Hidden problem: OLD, BPD(possibly)]
Silas raised an eyebrow. This... this was new...
To say Silas was excited would be an understatement. It was every man’s dream to own a golden finger. The system was the golden finger he was waiting for.
His focus shifted to the power aspects.
Thunder? Does he have a thunder superpower? Why is it dormant, though?
"System... how should I activate my superpower?"
[Good question, host. You can awaken it in three ways. Either trigger it, or let it slowly get awakened, or hold a zombie thunder crystal to awaken it.]
"How to trigger it? Where can I get zombie crystals?" Silas asked.
[To trigger it, you have to go through a life and death situation. As for zombie crystals, as zombies will evolve, they will form a crystal in their mind.]
Silas nodded, and he asked,
"Why do they have a crystal anyway?"
[The system’s level is insufficient to answer that question.]
"The only options I have been left with are... either to trigger my power or let it awaken on its own," Silas muttered. From his point of view, the military, using weapons, will be able to deal with all the zombies soon.
The chances of zombies evolving on their own are no more than 10%.
After the shower, Silas changed into a regular pair of clothes and paused.
"System... what type of power is it, if someone can store animals and keep them in a fresh state?"
[It is most likely an Advanced Space superpower. Only 1% users awaken such power.]
"Can someone awaken the power to predict the future, too?"
[Prediction... it is possible. However, the chances of awakening the power to see in the future are close to 0.000000000001%. It is my rough estimation, host. The number can be even lower.]
Silas closed his eyes before taking a deep breath,
"Alright."
He exited the room and soon met with Ivy who was going downstairs too.
Seeing her dressed in a black square neck waist cinching dress that reached till her knees with black sneakers, he couldn’t stop himself from smiling.
Ivy was wearing his sister’s dress. His sister must have secretly placed her dress, knowing that Ivy hadn’t brought any clothes.
"Let’s eat something." Once Silas closed the distance between him and Ivy, he said softly.
Ivy paused before saying in a calm voice,
"I will take out my portion."
The crops have long ago withered from the zombie virus. 90% of the food has been hoarded by the rich, while the remaining 7% has been hoarded by upper-middle and middle-class people.
3% of the food was taken away by those who had let their house and scavenged for it.
Freeloading food now was equivalent to cutting flesh from a person’s body.
Not to mention, she has a lot of food. Rice, meat, salt, and water(though it was unpurified).
"What do you want to eat?" Silas asked. He thought Ivy was craving a specific food and hence proposed to take her portion out on her own.
"No. I just don’t want to freeload." Ivy honestly replied.
Silas’s expression turned grim. "If that is what you think, then I will have to return the rice packet."
"No." Ivy tried to oppose, however, Silas interrupted her, "I know Ivy, you don’t love me, but please don’t distance yourself from me... it hurts me."
Ivy’s heart trembled hearing Silas’s slight agonized voice.
She loved him...and wanted to correct him, however...
’It’s good if he misunderstands... Let him think... that she doesn’t love him.’
She pursed her lips before lowering her head,
"Alright."
It was just a meal. She can’t bear to see Silas get hurt. Not to mention, Silas will still be under the impression that she doesn’t love him, and he could continue to move on.
Silas was thrilled when he saw Ivy agreeing. If she wanted, she could have continued to argue like she used to do.
But today she changed her decision the moment she heard he was hurting.
What does that mean? This was progress!
Though Ivy didn’t disagree with his sentences, words never mattered to Silas. He believed in action more.
Ivy didn’t realize... but her little actions had already betrayed her. frёeωebɳovel.com
Her care for Stephen... how she had placed him in the backseat when he was unconscious, how she agreed to meet his mother... and now...
Silas thanked his high EQ.
Now he had unlocked a new way to make Ivy agree.
"Ivy? Silas? Why are you standing on the stairs? Come down, I have something very important to ask."
