Villainess Want's To Ignore Them!-Chapter 181: The Preparations
"The other ladies were also shocked, especially those who were not here during that time."
Lady Dreanna said as she looked at us as she drank her tea from her teacup.
"If you had seen those ladies who were once their friends, they really looked horrified."
Lady Evangeline said as she looked at Lady Dreanna, who was still sipping on her tea.
"The society was shaken knowing that their beloved belle was the one who caused the chaos upon this empire."
She continued as she put down her teacup.
"By the way, Your Highness..."
I looked at Lady Evangeline, who called my attention as she also put the cup down.
"I heard that there will be a hunting contest three days from now."
She continued as she looked at me.
I already know about it. Helion and the emperor had already talked to me about it.
"Yes..."
I casually said as I sipped at my own cup.
"But don’t you think this is not the right time to hold such a thing?"
Lady Dreanna asked as she looked concerned at what she said.
I get her point... Hunting at this time was really dangerous, now that Abanoon was just there...
But the point of this hunting is to look for where Abanoon is; it only means... 𝘧𝓇𝑒𝑒𝑤ℯ𝑏𝓃𝘰𝑣ℯ𝘭.𝘤ℴ𝘮
Skilled knights who use mana stones can participate in this hunt, but this time they’re not going to hunt some animals or some wild monster... They’re going to hunt the queen itself... The queen of monsters who made them all is none other than Abanoon herself.
Acantha was the one who suggested the hunt in the first place; they shouldn’t waste any time when Abanoon was still weak and vulnerable after she stabbed her using Saeries’s dagger.
They needed to rush everything before she could do anything to the people of Luminsiarian; she didn’t want to repeat history itself when almost all the people back then died during the war between her and Abanoon.
"Are your brothers going to participate?"
I asked them both; their brothers were low-key from the society.
Lady Dreanna’s brother just graduated from the academy and was going to pursue his dream to become a skillful knight, while Lady Evangeline’s brother was doing business and was helping their father.
"Ernie was still in the south, so I don’t think that he can make it here, and besides, knowing my brother? he’d rather not enter this competition than to sully his clothes with some mud."
Lady Evangeline said as she chuckled when she talked about her brother.
"My brother would probably join, Your Highness..."
Lady Dreanna said as she also chuckled at what her friend said.
"He just went here with father yesterday."
She continued as she looked at me while she said those words.
I see; that young man that I saw with Count Constrin was his younger brother, as he looks younger than she does.
"I saw your brother yesterday..."
I said as I used the fork to get some small piece of cake that the people in my palace prepared for us.
Lady Dreanna looked at me while she was holding her cup that she was about to take a sip from.
"Really? I wanted him to meet you, as he wanted to thank you for what you and his grace did to us in the south."
She said as she looked at me warmly while she was still holding her cup.
"Yes, I can see that he will become a good knight."
I said as I took my own cup and took a sip.
"Can he?"
Lady Dreanna asked as she looked concerned and worried for her brother.
"Yes, I can sense his mana, though he still needs to work on his stamina."
"Yes, Andrew has always been sickly since we were young, and we were surprised when he told father and mother that he wanted to be a knight."
"Yes, I remember that time when count Constrin went to our house to ask for some medicines that we were importing to the capital at that time, as he said that the young master was sick at the time."
I just listened to them as they talked about their childhood days. I looked around the place again, as I could sense that someone was coming.
And I wasn’t wrong. I saw Mildred, who was walking along with the empress.
"Your Majesty..."
We all said as we bowed our heads.
The empress motioned her hand as a sign that we could lift our heads up.
"Raise your heads, ladies."
The empress said as she walked to the vacant seat and sat there.
I called Mildred to ask her to bring more cups for the empress to use, which she obeyed.
"You must be surprised to see my presence here, Crown princess.."
The empress said as she looked at me.
Though she was not mad at me anymore, we still felt very awkward when it came to each other, but we were okay.
"Yes, Your Majesty."
I said as I met her gaze.
"Nice to see you here, Lady Constrin and Lady Roys."
"It’s a pleasure to have your presence here, Your Majesty."
Lady Dreanna said as she looked at me awkwardly, as they both knew how the Empress was with me.
"It’s nice to see you both here. I came here, as I heard that you were both accompanying the crown princess here."
The empress said and I saw how Lady Evangeline’s eyes widened when she saw the empress smiled a little bit at them. She stood from where she was sitting.
"You’re leaving, Your Majesty?"
I asked as I looked at the empress, who sighed and smiled a little bit at me.
"Yes, I have so many things to do; it’s been a while since I did my job as an empress."
She said as she bid her goodbyes to us and walked away from where we were.
I just looked at her back when she was walking. I know that she has been restless these past few days since she woke up.
And it’s been days too since we talked about Noraya and hard as it may seem, the empress truly loves her like her own daughter and it seems like she was still trying to digest everything she learned, and besides...
The empress also was saying some things, like she seems to remember something while her body was being possessed by Abanoon’s demon.
"Are you and Her Majesty okay now?"
I looked at Lady Evangeline as she got my attention when she asked me that.
"Hey! Haven’t you seen that? Her Majesty even smiled at her."
Lady Dreanna said as she looked at her friend, who looked at me with worry in her eyes.
"Her Majesty and I are okay, though she is still trying to digest everything she learned about Lady Noraya."
I said as I looked at them, which made them stop and sigh at what I said.
We just continued on talking that afternoon and they also mentioned that they are going to stay in the palace after the hunting festival, which will be held in a week.
The palace was buzzing with people who were busy doing some preparations; some of the blacksmiths can also be seen going in and out of the palace to make armor for the knights and people who are going to participate.
------------------------
Noraya was pacing back and forth. She has been hiding for almost a week and she was starving to death.
The only thing that she ate while roaming around is those fruits that fall from the tree, which she didn’t like either, as she has been eating them for days.
Every time she heard some footsteps, she hid herself in the bushes.
"Why is Noraya’s body so useless? It’s very different from the novel that I rewrote."
She said to herself as she tried to use Noraya’s power, but the power that she wielded was so weak that it could barely do anything.
"Ughh"
She winced as she felt the familiar pain again. She has been suffering from that pain, and it’s not a normal pain. It feels like it was sucking her life force.
"Stupid woman... How can she claim to be a goddess when she can’t even help me here?"
She complained as the pain was surging again; she was about to moan in pain again when she heard some footsteps again, which made her run to the nearest thick bush that has a hole that she made as her hiding spot.
"The crown prince must really be in love with Lady Acantha for him to throw a grand celebration like this."
Noraya heard and based on its voice. It was a woman.
Crown prince?
In love with whom?
Acantha?
That stupid pink-haired bitch?
It can’t be!
Helion was supposed to be hers!
Right!
I remember her having some powers, which is not in the story she had rewritten.
Could it be that she also formed some contract with some demon? Right... that’s why she has some powers now.
Acantha was supposed to be powerless; that’s why everyone in this society was outcasting her, as she came from two prominent families, and yet she can’t wield a power.
"Who wouldn’t fall in love with her? she was our savior, and she was different from what the other noble ladies used to paint her."
I gripped the fruit that was in my hand as I felt angry at what I was hearing.
How could she steal the spotlight that was supposed to be mine?
I looked at the two women as they finished what they were doing and they were even laughing as they walked away from where I was.
Celebration, huh?
I will ruin it even if I get caught; who cares?
I know Helion will save me, as I am the one he really loves.
And for that pink bitch? She can dream on and enjoy what she has, as it won’t last.
As soon as Helion sees my state and I tell him the truth, I know he will forgive me and leave that stupid Acantha.
I can’t help but grin at what I am thinking.
After all, I am the main character of this story.
