Unscented-Chapter 1184 - 1126 Internal Issues
Murray was worried about the entertainer that was investigated.
He had sent for his assistant. He wanted him to fish out the entertainer at all cost.
Murray’s assistant came into his office immediately.
"Who is this entertainer that was being investigated?" Murray asked him.
"I don’t know yet" he replied him. "But we don’t have to worry about the entertainer. It is none of our problem" he concluded.
"No!" Murray disagreed. "There was no way it won’t get back to us. Our reputation will be affected. That’s why we need to find the entertainer" he affirmed.
He was surprised to hear his assistant being so careless.
"I will try to trace him and I’m sure whoever the entertainer is, will be found" he assured Murray.
That was what Murray wanted to hear.
"Let me know immediately you find something" Murray said to dismiss him. "And in case there is any other problem. Let me know about it" he quickly added before his assistant could get out of his office.
He opened his browser on his computer and started surfing the internet. He was reading the comments passed by netizens on the ongoing issue in the entertainment industry. The government restrictions and policies.
Most netizens were in support of the policies. Some described the industry as unclean and needed to be cleaned.
He learnt that most netizens were more concerned about the companies involved more than the entertainer. 𝒻𝘳ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝒷𝘯ℴ𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝑐ℴ𝑚
The attitude of an entertainer would eventually ruin the reputation of the company.
Spoilt reputation would only worsen the situation as the company was already plunging into a dramatic financial crisis. It might lead to the end of the company.
Three days later.
Murray’s assistant rushed into Murray’s office anxiously. He surely had some news for him.
"I found an entertainer from our company. He was dealing in illegal business using the name of our company" he disclosed.
Murray was very sad to hear that. He sighed sadly. He knew that was a very bad turn for their company. It would cause them a great loss.
He was also shocked by the audacity of the entertainer to involve their name in his dirty dealings.
Murray was still brooding about the damages when his assistant seemed like he was about to add more to what was on ground.
"The people that were duped by this entertainer have sued Melissa" his assistant said briefly.
"Melissa?" Murray cried out. "What has she gotten to do with all this?" he asked angrily.
"They blamed her for being negligent. They have opened a case" he replied him.
Murray had become more worried. Melissa had not recovered yet. She must not know about this. It would hinder her recovery if she knew.
Murray had been trying to contain the problem faced by the company from the new policies but now that Melissa’s case is involved. He needed to act fast.
"Melissa must not know about this" he warned his assistant.
"I think she has known already. The court might have reached out to her at home" the assistant doubted.
"Why would they do that? They are supposed to come to the company for that" he fumed.
That would be worse if she had known about it already. Her failing health would be deteriorated.
Murray was confused about what to do. The best thing was to gather all the departments and deliberate on how to solve this problem.
"The government officials have found out about this entertainer too and they had decided to punish us for that as the employer" his assistant gave another bad news.
"So we still have another problem apart from being sued?" Murray couldn’t believe it.
"The government is our only problem. We are not sued" the assistant clarified.
"But Melissa is sued. Isn’t it?" Murray asked angrily. He felt bad the way his assistant was addressing Melissa like he didn’t want the company to assist her.
"But we have to deal with the government officials first" the assistant suggested.
Murray didn’t reply him as he was already frustrated. Melissa was important to him too even more than the company. But the company should also stay in business.
"Assemble all the departments, we have a meeting right now" he let out sternly to his assistant. He want him gone before he would say another annoying word.
Few hours later.
Murray’s father came to meet him in his office. Murray was surprised to see his father. He didn’t notify him that he would visit
He couldn’t think what might have brought him. He just wished it was not another problem to deal with.
"I heard about Melissa. I want to help with the case" Murray’s father explained himself.
Murray sighed. He felt relieved that it was not another problem like he thought.
"I don’t think you can help us. We will gather our departments and support the legal department to know what to do about it" he managed to smile. "And thank you very much for showing concern" he appreciated him.
"I know I do not know much about this entertainment business and the allegations leveled against her are not very clear to me. But I think it is something I can learn and understand easily" Murray’s father insisted to help.
"The terms and conditions of this business is not something as easy as that. It is more complex and will take years before it could be understood. Meddling with it without understanding it will only cause more problems" Murray rejected again.
"More problems?" Murray’s father smirked. "There is no way that will happen. I am experienced in business legalities. Just that the entertainment aspect is not my strong suit. There are other problems that you need to attend to. Like this company. It is very important you give it more of your attention. You shouldn’t let it collapse" he advised his son.
"I understand that you want to help and we really need help. But this is a court case that involves settlement. It’s all about money. If we lose we are going to pay a lot that will affect the company" Murray buttressed.
It would still end up in the same way. Whether he focused on the company or not. A loss on either side would collapse the company.
"Of course I know cases that involves settlement. Every business cases are like that and I am experienced in that aspect. But the ball is in your court" Murray’s father conceded to him.
