Jyera World Apocalypse-Chapter 93: The First Apocalypse Part 2
While young Lucien was terrified by the sight of that terrifying monster and its large horde of zombies, Lorenzo acted quickly. After all, he had made many mistakes facing that monster last time, causing him and Lucien to be pursued for days without rest, so this time he knew what needed to be done...
"RUN!"
After the shout, Lorenzo Rivero made a grabbing gesture, and suddenly, four cars on the street floated for a few seconds before being hurled in the direction of the approaching zombie horde.
The four cars missed the horde but fell sideways onto the narrow street, stacked with a visible magnetic force, so that they all blocked the narrow street like an improvised barrier, slowing the level 2 zombies’ run and blocking their path.
Then, morbid chirps came from the sky from all directions like a web of the dead, creating an aerial trap that completely blocked Lucien and his father’s escape route.
The cars did their job of blocking the level 2 zombies, but it didn’t stop the 2-meter-tall, red-eyed, yellow abomination from leaping over them.
"LORENZO, DON’T RUN, HAHAHA!"
The terrifying level 3 zombie screamed loud enough for both of them to hear, its hoarse, rough voice adding even more despair to the situation. Then, the zombie moved its hands towards the sky, like the conductor of a symphony, causing all the flying mutant animals to move in sync, further funneling the aerial web to trap the two.
Seagulls, pelicans, pigeons, crows, swallows, bats... There were all kinds of level 2 zombie birds in the horde that the level 3 abomination controlled. At the same time, from another street, a second horde began to surround the father and son who were running.
This second horde included giant crabs, stray cats and dogs the size of lions, and many, many giant rats... Simultaneously, both Lucien and Lorenzo felt their minds slow down, as if they were suddenly very sleepy, their joints stiffened, and even speaking became difficult, hindering the pair’s ability to think and slowing their desperate escape.
But like a jack of all trades, Lorenzo made a nasal sniffing sound, and a golden light emanated from within him, temporarily covering him and his son like a cloak, granting them immunity to the terrible level 3 zombie control ability.
At the same time, Lorenzo grabbed Lucien’s hand and smashed through a shop window, leaping inside. But they didn’t stop there; The two continued running, breaking down several doors and walls in succession, and soon crossed the dark and dusty interior of the store, almost crossing an entire city block.
While they ran inside the store in the darkness, Lorenzo’s left eye turned completely white, temporarily blinding him, and clouds formed in the sky, as if a storm was imminent, but not a single drop of rain fell in that area of Gran Luz. Instead, the humidity increased, and a fog began to spread, making it impossible for anyone in the region to see more than two hand spans in front of them.
Only after the fog covered everything did Lorenzo and Lucien finally return to the streets, but instead of using the fog to escape into the open, the father and son used it to quickly reach a manhole cover and enter the sewers unseen by the creatures in the sky.
Hearing some rats approaching through the dark channels, Lorenzo continued to firmly grip Lucien’s hand, guiding him through the dark environment. As he ran, the orange-green bricks, full of moss and mold from the sewers, shifted positions, floating as if by magic, creating new passages within the sewers, while behind them, more bricks moved from the walls, creating new dead ends and false walls, blocking the path of the mutant rats that were still trying to track them at their master’s command.
As a final trick, Lorenzo waved his free hand, causing the still-frozen putrid waters of the sewers to heat up to extremely high temperatures, to the point of boiling and evaporating. The extremely foul-smelling green vapor quickly masked their smells, finally freeing the two from their many pursuers.
"Uff Uff"
Lorenzo breathed heavily, but even so, he still gathered energy one last time to run a hand under his left eye and over the ends of some strands of hair that strayed from his hat. He did this to hide from Lucien his blind eye and the parts of his hair that had turned white due to the excessive use of his power.
Meanwhile, Lucien, who had previously been terrified, looked at his father with admiration after the recent display of power. To him, Lorenzo was a true hero, capable of anything with his incredible powers. Every time he saw him fighting, his father demonstrated various types of powers, as if he could use all types of Universal Force, but whenever he asked him what Force it was, he never got an answer.
This time, Lucien didn’t waste time asking those questions and tried to figure out for himself what his Universal Force was, and because of that, he failed to see the serious side effects his father suffered from this escape, and how weak he was now, with even his level 3 senses severely reduced...
The pair continued fleeing through the sewers for a few more hours before Lorenzo finally made sure they were no longer being followed. He climbed metal ladders and opened a manhole onto an unfamiliar street, making sure there was nothing outside.
Next, he helped Lucien out first. But due to exhaustion from the intense escape, coupled with temporary blindness in one eye, Lorenzo didn’t notice that, less than 50 meters from where they emerged, in a dark alley, a level 2 mutant seagull was perched on the balcony of a building.
As soon as Lucien finished climbing and exited the sewers, the seagull swooped down towards him.
"AHH, DAD!"
Hearing Lucien’s scream, Lorenzo quickly jumped out of the sewer, his gaze terrified by the sight before him.
Lucien stared at his father with a horrified expression, tears streaming down his face as he clutched the side of his bleeding neck.
"NOOOO!"
With just one look, Lorenzo knew Lucien had been bitten and would soon be turned into a zombie...
