UNLIMITED SPEED-Chapter 528 528. POISON IN DISGUISE
Elder Ezra led Noah down the golden hallways of that mansion. She remained silent as she did this.
It felt interesting to Noah, knowing that individuals at her level still walked within structures. If only he knew that was due to her many visits to the central city.
During their conversation, she had announced her decision to take him to meet the expert that they had caught. Apparently, she had been stripped of her ability to properly cast spells.
But rather than destroy her core, the master had simply placed restrictions on it. Both her mind and mana core were locked up. In short only her body was accessible, but her binds made even that impossible to utilize.
"She has been in here for the last two decades. No food no water. But that's not nearly enough to get rid of a tier five cultivator," Elder Ezra explained whilst they stood before a black door shining with all sorts of inscriptions within the fifth tier.
Noah could glance at them and understand a bit of their function. Ersha's memories of inscriptions were expansive.
"I understand. She's bound and cannot hurt anyone. So there's no need to worry," Noah spoke, already willing to enter that place.
"You have just as much confidence as you have power," Elder Ezra commented, shaking her head. She placed her hand on the door and watched all the inscriptions emit a resplendent golden light.
The sound of heavy locks clicking resounded all around them and the door moved open to reveal that its thickness was a meter!
The door opened with ease and a wide room unfolded in Noah's eyes. Or rather the feeling of a wide room.
The room was pitch black despite the fact that golden lights existed in the hallway behind them.
Noah instantly knew it was a magical effect. Still, they needed to see the expert in question.
Elder Ezra spread open her palm and palm-sized magical circles expanded on it. They rotated a certain way and golden lights began to fill the room.
The outline of a figure unfolded in Noah's silver gaze and when the entire room got illuminated, he understood just how big that place was, but most of all the figure that was held up by literally over a hundred different chains.
Each of her limbs was attached to a series of chains that ended up elevating her figure and spreading them from each other. She even had chains connected to her neck even if they allowed movement. The others were tight and allowed no movement. 𝑓𝘳ℯ𝒆w𝘦𝘣𝙣𝘰ѵ𝘦𝚕.c𝗼𝓶
"What a surprise. I've not had any visitors in about three years. Or more. Measuring the passage of time is shitty within this place," a feminine voice resounded in that place. It lacked any sort of power but was simply loud due to the nature of the room. Genuine solitary confinement.
Just to show how big that place was, Noah and Elder Ezra were nigh dot-like before her eyes. That place had a whole lot of space but only contained her.
"I see you've lost most of your calmness during the years. It's been three years, however. The world is moving smoothly on without you. You'll soon be forgotten,' Elder Ezra attacked the lady's pride as a cultivator.
The woman remained silent at those words, they meant nothing to her, after al. Rather, she focused on the stunning man before her.
She was bound, but her senses were still at work, at least the physical ones. Even from that height distance, their features were clear.
"You brought someone unique this time around. Is he even human?" She ignored Elder Ezra's attempt to hurt her.
"We have come to gaze at your defeated figure," Elder Ezra taunted.
"Of the lightning affinity too," She arched an eyebrow with interest.
Unfazed by the fact that she spoke about him, Noah ascended towards her, he glanced at the normal-looking chains. They were made from an alloy that was beyond him. Even if he rained hundreds of lightning bolts with all his essence he would be unable to destroy them.
He failed to gain the real level of those chains but they were definitely far above the lower stage of the fifth tier.
With that understanding in mind, before Elder Ezra could reach him, Noah stretched forth his hand and unleashed a bolt of silver lightning on her figure.
The sound of the discharge transformed into a deafening roar, and the sheer size of the said bolt remained capable of directly swallowing buildings.
Noah had left that discharge of power more concentrated to allow for maximum efficiency in terms of attack power and damage.
The bolt quickly ended and elder Ezra shot toward him with anger, but mainly perplexion. She felt ready to speak when Noah spoke for the first time.
"My attacks cannot hurt her nor can they hurt her binds. She might as well have felt a cool breeze hit her skin," he explained calmly, stopping the elder dead in her tracks.
"He's not wrong, The color of his sparks is interesting, but I felt nothing. It's undoubtedly remarkably stronger for someone his level, however," the bound lady explained, suddenly calm.
Elder Ezra snapped her head towards her prisoner and furrowed her brows when she saw that Noah's attack had been able to put her into a state of thought. She looked serious.
Heaving a sigh she focused on Noah and opened her mouth to speak.
"Don't take such actions again lest you make me throw you out. But if you knew your spell wouldn't achieve anything, then why did you attack her?" She felt perplexed, unable to discern the man's thoughts from his expression.
"Hey, kiddo... Why couldn't I absorb your energy? What sort of monstrosity powers your existence," the lady revealed her thoughts as blood dripped out of her eyes. Her words had interrupted Noah's initial response.
"Your body is unfit for my essence. It'll need to be exposed to more of it to be capable of handling it. Even at that. You'll still die," Noah explained, his words sounding strange even if Elder Ezra remained alarmed by the injured lady.
His attack had been ineffective against her, but the nature of his essence had been detrimental to her nature.
Although she remained bound and unable to do anything much, she understood that only more power would help her get out of there.
Finding someone who willingly threw energy at her was like gold. But Noah's gold was poison in disguise. Literally.
