TRANSMIGRATED WITH A HYPERMARKET SYSTEM-Chapter 85 - 84: IDEAS
Alita couldn’t be described as someone who knew everything but she has an advantage that others didn’t have and it was that she lived two lives, one being in the modern world and the other in this world.
Waking up to find herself in a body of waste was something that greatly pained her so much but hope made her go so far even though at the end of the day she didn’t achieve what she wanted.
So, helping someone who runs a bookstore was so easy as she had read so many books, and been to many libraries and the most important thing was that Merita has become a novelist, an amateur one though.
"So, what kind of help do you want?" Alayna asked since she didn’t know what Susan wants from her, she wasn’t psychic at the end of the day.
Susan fidgeted with her fingers as she looked at the older woman in front of her, being someone in her twenties herself she still couldn’t believe that the other was in her forties.
To look over a decade younger like this isn’t something that everyone can achieve. It’s either one’s cultivation is very high or the person has access to a lot of good resources and she wanted to be friends with someone like that.
"I…. I have been running the bookshop for a while now and to be honest, there isn’t much to talk about. The sales are so pathetic and I can’t contribute all of this to the environment or the murder case for this. I just want to do something to see it flourishing and I want to ask for your help if you have any ideas to improve this," Susan said helplessly as she looked at Alayna.
Alayna had been checking her neighbors’ cases seriously ever since she arrived and opened her own shop there. So, hearing this didn’t come as a surprise to her although she has not graced that shop yet.
"Can you please tell me what you do?" Alayna asked as she wanted to hear more about the shop.
Susan wasn’t offended when she heard this as this meant that she can be helped in some way so she gladly answered, "I usually collect books on cultivation and sell them but as you can see, there really isn’t any business but I can’t blame the environment for that. Somehow I think that what I am doing is wrong otherwise it wouldn’t be this bad."
Seeing Susan accepting her faults, Alayna began to like this girl more than before, after all helping someone who knows her faults is better than someone who insists that he/she is right.
"Ummmm, so you only sell the books?"
"Yes, is there any problem?"
"Not really, but I am wondering if you ever thought of doing something different from what you are currently doing?" Alayna pondered as she looked at Susan.
Susan was bewildered as she listened to this, to be honest, there was no way to spice up a bookshop. You open one, collect the book, buy them or trade them and then sell them to the public, it was that simple.
"No, I just love cultivation books so I only concentrated on those and they are even cheaper," Susan said in a low voice as she looked at Alayna with uncertainty.
Alayna couldn’t help but get stunned hearing this, even the manga stores sold other books as well apart from the manga. Where would one find a library with only educational books?
The libraries she knows of even had novels, magazines, and newspapers for people to read. When one is operating such kind of business, one needs to have a variety and not just stick to one thing.

"Dear, I don’t mean to sound a bit too much but aren’t you too relaxed?" Alayna asked as she looked at Susan with disbelief in her eyes.
"This…ahh…. what do you mean?" Susan stammered as she looked at the other woman.
"If you are running a bookstore, aren’t you supposed to cater at least to everyone? In this world where everyone is not a cultivator, how can you just offer those kinds of books? To others, cultivation is like a curse to them and they don’t even want to hear anything about it, so how can you just deal with only one category?" Alayna felt so pissed the more she thought about it.
Susan couldn’t help but felt suffocated and a bit drained. Alayna’s words strike her so bad and it really hurt but the words somehow enlightened her, "so what should I do?"
Susan once again lowered her head to ask for advice as she could tell that this was going somewhere.
"I have two children whom I left home where I came from, my daughter is a writer and she is busy writing some children’s stories and adults do love her stories. I believe that in the future she will evolve and start writing others as well," Alayna decided to share her daughter’s story with a passionate book lover.
Susan never thought that Alayna had kids and kids that were that awesome, "I didn’t know and this is simply great. Are you telling me this so that I can start writing too or_"
"I will just offer some advice and hope that you will select what works for you. Firstly, I believe that with all of the knowledge that you have gathered in all these years you can write your own book or books. It doesn’t matter what the content is as long as it’s meaningful to you and can help others out there.
The main purpose usually for writers when they use their pens to write whatever they write is to leave an impact on others. There are romantic stories to please our hearts and make them flutter, there is ...….." Alayna began to analyze her thoughts on reading and books in general and it took a great while for her to do that.
"So, in other words, if I want to improve, I should start writing something?"
"Yes, you should, and not just that but have you ever considered trying something like trading books, borrowing books from others for a small fee since selling them is a problem, and also consider stocking other different genres in your bookshop for a variety."
The more Susan listened to Alayna, the more sense everything made, "that’s really awesome! Thank you, I will consider this and try to implement it."
"Do you have money for that?" Alayna’s business side couldn’t help but kick upon hearing this.
"I have some savings saved, so I will check if it’s enough."
"That’s okay then, remember if you need money, I will help and also I will try to write the details later and give them to you tomorrow. Come and take the document tomorrow, I hope that it will help," Alayna was very sincere as she said this.
Susan was glad to hear this that a smile appeared on her face, "thank you, I will not forget."
Susan was simply excited after all the advice she has received and left after a small talk.
With Susan gone, Alayna couldn’t help but return upstairs where she settled in her study as she pondered over some issues.
The talk she had with Susan made her mind very open about many things, with Merita in the writing business, her books were being publicized online and many people back home weren’t even aware of it.
It seems like she had ignored this business and was just clouded for a moment that she overlooked the matter. What was the point of being an author when those near you can’t even bask in your glory?
For Merita to be successful, she needed even those that were around her to see her work and this was only possible if she gives a hand in it.
Since the books were online, why can’t she print them out and have someone copy them or at least, distribute and sell them in the process?
"Yes, this is it, I will do this as soon as I go back home but why don’t I start this side? I can copy her books and use Susan’s shop as an intermediary and make my baby famous, she can at least earn some allowance from it."
It was always a good thing to make at least a trust fund for the babies, this way they will grow up settled.
After sorting out Merita’s issues, she took out a notepad and a pen and began to write down the ideas she thought of earlier for Susan. As these ideas can be used in the future, she also typed them down for future use as forgetting can be an issue sometimes.
After doing this, she didn’t go to sleep but logged online to check her baby’s book. Merita was still on book one but this didn’t mean that the book couldn’t be promoted.
She had seen a lot of books with so many volumes and sometimes the book will be published in chapters, so she can start by that and see how it fares first before progressing.
Currently, the book has over forty chapters which was a lot to start with, so she printed all forty chapters and looked at them with pride. She didn’t believe that people won’t fall in love with her books, what she needed now was to find someone to copy them on papers that were available in this world.
After all, overdoing it can bring harm to oneself but she didn’t have time to do it so she decided to check if she can find someone to help her transcribe and if this person is good, she will consider taking the person as her first employee too.
