The Villainess Winning Back Her Beast Husbands-Chapter 61: How About We Do Something Exciting?
At the crack of dawn, as the sky began to brighten, the group returned to the Grymdale Tribe, their feet damp with morning dew.
Evangeline lay on Thorne’s back, her eyelashes casting a faint shadow beneath her eyes. She was sound asleep.
Orion glanced over and approached Elias Moretti. "Let’s clear out a cave and clean it up. Let Flora get some proper sleep. She’s exhausted."
A flicker of light crossed Elias Moretti’s crimson eyes before he led Thorne and Evangeline to a new cave.
Thorne spread a soft beast skin over the stone bed and gently laid Evangeline down.
She seemed utterly exhausted, merely rolling over before falling back into a deep sleep.
"Thorne, come out. I need to speak with you." Elias Moretti’s Beast Eyes swept over Evangeline before settling on Thorne.
Just then, Evangeline, who had appeared to be sound asleep, suddenly rolled over. Her slender fingers latched precisely onto Thorne’s wrist as she mumbled with a lazy, nasal tone, "It’s a little cold. I want Thorne to warm the bed. You two can go about your business."
At this, Elias Moretti let out a laugh of pure exasperation.
’Is she afraid I’ll say something I shouldn’t to Thorne? Was she faking sleep?’
Just as Elias Moretti was concluding that Evangeline had a guilty conscience, she pulled Thorne’s arm tighter into her embrace.
Then, her gaze shot over Thorne’s shoulder to meet his. Her eyes flashed with a cold light, as sharp as a blade.
It was a silent warning.
’She would tell Thorne that she was Evangeline eventually, but the words could not come from anyone else.’
’Anyone who interfered with her mission would have their throat cut.’
A savage violence churned in Elias Moretti’s crimson Beast Eyes, and the rustling of his scales rubbing together filled the air.
After a long moment, he stared icily at Thorne, his voice tight with suppressed anger. "The rainy season is almost here, and we can’t afford any delays with Flora’s pregnancy. Life is hard for wandering beastmen, so you can both stay in the tribe for the time being."
He finished speaking, then paused, his Adam’s apple bobbing. "I’ll keep the matter of her unborn cub quiet for now."
Thorne reached out to cover Evangeline with a beast skin, showing no reaction to Elias Moretti’s words.
Orion glanced at Evangeline and Thorne, then said to Elias Moretti, "Let’s head outside for now and let Flora rest. There’s a lot to be done in the Grymdale Tribe. We can discuss other things later."
Elias Moretti shot him a sideways glance, sneered, and turned to leave the cave.
The moment they were outside, Elias Moretti scoffed, "What’s with the generous act?"
Orion’s brow furrowed, a strange look crossing his rugged features. "A generous act?"
Elias Moretti’s forked, crimson tongue flicked in and out. He tilted his triangular head back dangerously, his vertical pupils glinting with a cold, mocking light. "You dare say you don’t like Flora? That you don’t want her to be your female?"
Orion froze, his hands unconsciously clenching into fists, his knuckles turning white.
His gaze turned cold and grim. He brought his thumb and forefinger together, and a sharp whistle tore through the sky.
The sound of beating wings rose in the distance as Wyvern Beastmen swooped in. Orion said coolly, "It’s not about what I want, it’s about what Flora wants. And the same goes for you."
Orion glanced back at the cave. The morning light cast a golden contour on the side of his face, only to shatter as he abruptly unfurled his massive Bone Wings.
In an instant, his human form shifted into a sky-blotting Wyvern, and he vanished with his kinsmen into the dim morning light.
Elias Moretti’s eyes filled with scorn. "Just for show."

Inside the cave, Thorne reached out and gently patted Evangeline, his movements awkward yet tender.
Evangeline’s eyes, which had been closed, snapped open to meet Thorne’s dark green pupils.
He froze for a moment. His voice was low and gentle, each word chosen with care. "Did I wake you?"
Evangeline considered for a moment, then her hand slipped out from under the beast skin. A thunder pattern flashed in her palm, and tiny sparks of electricity danced between her fingers, reflecting a bright light in the depths of her eyes.
She tilted her head to look at Thorne, a cunning smile playing on her lips and her voice brimming with excitement. "Since I’m awake, how about we—do something a little more stimulating?"
Thorne stared at his Beast Crystal in her hand, slightly taken aback. A faint, stabbing pain emanated from the empty spot in his chest.
Evangeline got up and first cast a restrictive barrier around the cave entrance to prevent any disturbances.
With a wave of her hand, a massive wooden tub appeared in the cave, instantly filling with rainwater. She flicked a finger, and the water’s surface immediately began to churn with bubbles, making a GURGLE GURGLE sound.
Next, medicinal herbs streamed out of her storage space and dropped one by one into the tub. Soon, the water was stained an inky black before a medicinal mist began to rise from it. The mixture swirled, transforming into an eerie, fluorescent green.
"Alright, get in." Evangeline stirred the medicinal liquid with her hand and turned to look at Thorne.
"What is this?" Thorne glanced at the gurgling, steaming tub. Even with his strong willpower, he couldn’t help the unsettling feeling that made his scalp prickle. A complex look crossed his handsome features.
"It’s good stuff, for repairing your foundation. Hurry up, get in." Evangeline, her face alight with excitement, gave Thorne a shove.
Thorne cleared his throat and was about to speak, but Evangeline had already stripped him naked. "You can say whatever you want after your Beast Crystal is restored and you’ve recovered. How can you not be the least bit anxious? Or do you not trust me?"
As she said the last part, her brow, which had already been slightly furrowed, knitted together even more tightly, a clear sign of her displeasure.
Thorne’s lips pressed into a thin line. He lifted his long leg and slowly stepped into the tub.
The instant the liquid enveloped his body, a bone-piercing pain shot through him. A muffled groan escaped his throat, his knuckles turning white from the force of his grip. Yet, the rising steam painted a blush like rouge across his pale skin.
He grasped Evangeline’s hand, his own trembling. Tiny droplets of condensation clung to his eyelashes as he broke into a smile. "I trust you."
Evangeline stared at Thorne’s face, wreathed in steam. A faint blush spread from his cheeks to the corners of his eyes, like a peach blossom blooming in spring. She couldn’t help but take a sharp breath, grumbling to herself, ’These male leads... every one of them is an enchanter.’
’Then again, on the Beastman Continent, being able to freely shift between beast and human form... they really are a type of "enchanter."’
"Ngh..." Thorne’s body shuddered as intense pain washed over him, as if a bone knife were scraping away at his very skeleton.
His knuckles dug into the edge of the tub, veins bulging on his arms. His brows knitted tightly together, his dark green pupils constricting as a long-suppressed brutality churned in their depths.
The pain was all too familiar, just like the day his Beast Crystal had been brutally gouged from his chest.
Evangeline quickly composed herself and said in a grave voice, "Bear with it!"
With a flick of her wrist, the Thunder Beast Crystal, wrapped in a halo of light, began to hum sharply. With a gentle push from her, the crystal broke through Thorne’s flesh and sank into his heaving chest.
"AHHH—!" Veins bulged on Thorne’s forehead, his fingertips digging so hard into the tub that they nearly left indentations.
Thunder Power coursed through his body. The medicinal bath churned violently, releasing a bloody-smelling steam.
Cold sweat beaded on Evangeline’s forehead as her Spiritual Power surged forth, guiding the Thunder Power through every inch of Thorne’s body. Fortunately, the Beast Crystal was his to begin with, and the energy soon settled.
Thorne sank into unconsciousness, slumping against the side of the tub. The potion seeped into his body through his pores, repairing the damage that had accumulated since he lost his Beast Crystal. The GURGLE of the steaming liquid slowly died down.
Evangeline gazed at Thorne as he sat in the tub, his eyes closed. Tiny sparks of lightning flickered at the center of his forehead, gradually weaving themselves into the lines of a Star Pattern. The corners of her lips curled up slightly, and she let out a sigh of relief.
"Finally," she murmured, "it has returned to its rightful owner."
’First Caden Albright, and now Thorne. I’ve finally made some progress, made them whole again.’
