Chapter 266: Begging For Help-I

Not many bats an eye on her words. Some was interested but most of them? They were just watching from above, inside their little tents with wild smile drenched in a sense of greedy desire for blood. None of them seemed to be in their right mind, looking drunk, drunk by blood lust. Arabella who had seen those gazes fell on her knew that no matter what she said was futile as these people would do anything to have fun, even if it means killing people.

Arabella clenched her dress and lifted her eyes over Queen Morgana. She whispered aloud, "Don’t you know what goes around comes around?"

Queen Morgana looked back at her as though unimpressed by how she was struggling to be alive. Her lips formed into a wide smile, her eyes clinking with pride, "When you are in a high ranking position, little monster, nothing will ever comes back to you."

"Oh it will," Arabella whispered, "It will."

Queen Morgana frowned, feeling those words Arabella had said finally seeped into her, making her annoyed as it did ruffled her feathers. Unfolding her arms, Queen Morgana stretched out her hand to the left and one of the soldier immediately passed to her a long bow that was as tall as her.

She pulled one of the arrow with the red ribbon tied to its end before putting it over the drawstring and marking Arabella’s feet with one of her eyes closed. She hummed and turned to the soldier, "Make her run only after I shoot her."

The soldier nodded and Arabella could see the woman was aiming toward her, but not to her heart or head, rather her leg.

When the Queen pulled the arrow taut until it was tight enough, she licked her lips, grinning when she had positioned the arrow right where she wanted. Her fingers then released the arrow but upon seeing it flew, Arabella took four steps backward and saw the arrow that had stuck to the ground five feet away from her.

The Queen furrowed her eyebrows but Arabella worked faster than everyone else. As the queen’s guards lowered, she had turned her body and ran. Ran as fast as she could until she felt that she had became one with the wind itself. Her body flew across the green land, her feet padding barefoot into the forest.

She could hear the sound of murmurs, shouts, and then arrows that shoot after her, perhaps by the queen’s soldier as she was irked that she couldn’t hit one of her leg with the arrow as she wished.

Arabella continued to run but came to a stop, her feet that had been raised slowly moved backward and came to a stop. Then she looked down to find the thin string that was placed down on the ground to trigger a trap.

She sighed slowly, heaving her breaths as she tried to calm down. Her body jumped when she heard the loud horn blasted from behind her and the birds from the forest that seemed to soar far away from the forest’s trees as though they had realized that what would take place in this forest would be far too bloody for them to stay and watch.

"It started," Arabella muttered as she stared at the purple tent from afar which turn them smaller in sight.

She could see other humans being released and how they had weakly ran toward the forest as well and then the vampires who had rode horses with arrows and swords on their hands.

Seeing the weapons and the sight of greediness made her blood ran cold and her stomach nauseous but Arabella held on. She gritted her teeth, telling herself that she should be strong as from now on it would be only her left to protect herself. freёweɓnovel_com

But first... Arabella looked around for ways to disarm the trap.

She had been told by Karnala that there were already many mechanism placed in the forest, bear traps or even a log wood that would smash a person’s body when it’s triggered. God knows what else was hidden inside but Arabella knew that disarming them would be best for the humans and her.

She would also make sure that the vampires won’t be the only one hunting.

Far from the green field was Princess Isabelle.

She had stood from her seat with a push of her hands on the table and made herself to walk in front of Princess Wendy, showing a smile, "Are you not participating?"

Princess Wendy turned her eyes at her for a while before finally pulling a smile over her lips, "I don’t feel quite prepared for the hunt, so I will be taking a rest and watching instead. But you seem to be very prepared?" Her eyes fell on Isabelle’s dagger on her hip, two of it that was a match of the other.

But what made Wendy to narrow her eyes was the other object that was placed in a hoister over Isabelle’s vest. It seemed heavy, large, and loaded with something that smelled like fire. It didn’t seem like an item that every ladies have and seeing how Isabelle had brought it with her despite how heavy it is must mean that this is a weapon, perhaps used for the hunt.

Isabelle placed a hand over the body of the weapon, smiling back at Wendy, "I am prepared. Well prepared. Princess Wendy do you know how to tend for flowers?"

"Pardon?"

Wendy wondered why Isabelle was making small chats with her, especially when they don’t know each other.

"I am not too sure, I don’t think I’m ever quite fond of flowers you see."

"I see, well let me tell you," Isabelle whispered as she turned toward the forest, her red eyes gleaming bright, "When you tend for flowers, you have to love them as only with love they would be cared for. There is a need for situations where you can show the flower that you would do anything for them, to make them feel special."

Wendy doubted this was a talk about flower anymore and so she shrugged, "And what if there is no situation to show how special they are?"

"Then you make it," Isabelle answered, "Being tricky is a part of love."
