Chapter 265: Good Day For A Hunt-II

When morning arrives, all the slaves kept in the dungeon was finally brought out, or perhaps dragged out would be the better word for it. They all looked haggard, granted they hadn’t seen the light from the outside world for months now and was fed only to necessary with some nights they have to catch their stomach in hunger. But even then they weren’t as fearful as today, especially when they heard that the human hunt in the castle was finally put to a stop and that they wouldn’t have to be killed for fun and pleasure like a vulture.

However the goddess of luck wasn’t on them today.

It wasn’t on them every other day but today was even worse. The human hunt that they joyfully celebrated for being put to an end had returned and now they were about to be turned into animals ready to be hunted for points and for a fun past time for the vampires.

From where they stood, they could see the vampires laughing, holding the clear glass filled with red liquid of blood that they shared from a larger bottle. On their other hands were bows that thy proudly show to everyone, showing its gleam, its power, and how it was the bought from the best shop in Versailles that were guarantee going to help them shoot their arrow better to kill their preys.

Not only were male vampires there to enjoy this hunt, but also the vampiress which included the princesses from all sort of kingdom who was so excited to partake in this tradition of Versailles, something that was hard for them to see in their own land.

No one was missing the joy, not even the Queen who had excitedly worn her leather gloves while her handmaiden whispered to her in worry, "Your child, your Majesty, it would be terrible if you partake in the hunt in such state."

"Don’t worry I won’t partake in it," the queen brushed off the worries, "My dear, may I take just the first shot before the hunt started?"

The King who was asked and was sitting beside her turned towards her with a blank look on his face. He finally nodded his head slowly, wordless but still moving. Queen Morgana smiled and walked toward him before planting a kiss to the crown over his head. She then whispered, "Don’t forget to take your medicine, my love. I went ahead and found the best doctor for you, I hope you won’t waste my effort."

The King remained unmoved and the Queen Morgana didn’t took blame from it, instead she rubbed her stomach and giggled, "Thank you for agreeing to my selfishness."

The Queen then walked away turning toward Rueben who was standing not too far while holding his own sword and wiped it to shine.

"We should commence the hunt now. Bring that monster to the front of the stage and make everyone sees me shooting her first to start the hunt," the queen ordered and Rueben saluted, gladly doing what was told to him. The Queen’s eyes glimmered for a moment and then she looked around Rueben and asked, "Where is your slave?" freewebnøvel.coɱ

"Oh," Rueben hummed as he put back his polished sword to the scabbard and hummed, "She knows too much and have served her purpose so I brought her back to the dungeon."

Queen Morgana’s eyes widened and a burst of laughter rippled from her mouth. She chuckled multiple times and nodded, "You are indeed my most trusted minister Rueben. So clever. Good, now we should start it. Make sure you gather everyone to surround this place, so they could see it with their own eyes how delightful it is to hunt humans."

"Yes Your Majesty!"

Arabella was brought out from the dungeon by the same hour. The bright shine of the sky hit her like a sharp blade, causing for her to avert her eyes under the sun after being kept hours inside the cold dungeon.

Her body was shivering as it was already cold yet the cold dungeon was made to be colder and wet with the floor always damp with water.

When she was brought out, Karnala struggled but she saw how one of them had stabbed her with a silver dagger which prompted her to walk out on her own to participate to the hunt, not wanting that the maid have to suffer for what she was.

Two guards held her to walk yet their faces shows fear despite being a pureblood vampire themselves and once she reached the feet of the forest, she saw how there were many red colored tents placed over the entrance into a circle with a large purple tent overseeing the smaller tents.

The purple tent had two seats placed on a leveled surface and on it was the Queen and King standing beside the large flag of Versailles.

The Queen smiled wickedly, "Everyone! Behold! This is the monster who had killed our princess! Our beloved princess was turned into a monster before her death and had to suffer before being killed by her beloved brother. We have proved that she could not die, a monster who would not be killed even after being stabbed or shot. Thus here I would like to tell you all to unleash all your anger towards the humans who had caused chaos and fear to us, the higher kin, Vampires! Unleash your anger, severe her limbs! Every part of her limbs that you brought to us would be rewarded with a thousand point and for the winner of the hunt today, you should be granted with a land and a name of your own new family under the Ducal house."

Arabella who heard the words like a death sentence widened her eyes. The guards behind her had untied the rope on her arms and at the same time she realized that the Queen who understood that she could not die had gotten a new idea, a better one for her, a terrifying nightmare for Arabella.

Her plan wasn’t only to make her be killed in this human hunt, but severed by limbs like an animal for sell...

Arabella gnashed her teeth and glared at the Queen.

She was going to die so she didn’t held back with her words, "The monster here is you," she muttered and as everyone around her turned their heads to look at what the monster had said, Arabella raised her voice louder, "YOU’RE the monster! Killing Marissa, and god knows how many times you have tried to kill Cassius. You all can believe her words and soon you will be the next lamb to this sacrifice, used by her like a pawn and eventually all meet your doom to those who created that potion. After all she had even worked with the sorcerers who killed Marissa. What else would she not do?"
